Crash Mania Interviews
[edit]Please stop removing Crash Mania's interviews, whoever keeps doing so. They are not stolen, as I conducted them myself. Jumpbutton 04:28, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Exactly. Crash Mania also has all the neccesairy copyright details. 88.109.179.70 16:06, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Images
[edit]I've noticed that most of the images that are being uploaded that show the new appearance of these characters are tagged as {{Non-free game screenshot}}. However, I think they would by better if they were tagged as {{character-artwork}}. --98E 20:25, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
ESRB Ratings
[edit]Quick notice, the ESRB rating is from the official ESRB site. Only the GBA version has completed the rating process. Jumpbutton 03:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
So where is the source saying that Supervillain is developing the GBA version?
[edit]I read in the issue of PLAY Magazine with the Crash of the Titans article that Amaze Entertainment is developing the GBA version, but where is the source that says that Supervillain is developing the GBA version? --Hero of legend 14:06, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Still waiting on that source. Jumpbutton 04:12, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Never mind, I have direct proof that Amaze is developing the GBA version. [hpzr.freeweb7.com/interviewamaze.htm] Jumpbutton 07:38, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
XBox 360
[edit]Will the XBox 360 version be out in time for Christmas?
Most likely. Why, did you want the 360 version? - B.J.
Yes it will be. [1] -Nerd 101 08:40, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
Confirmation
[edit]Will there be a PS3 version, or are these the only consoles it's out on? I personally am geting the Wii version, but is it just PS2? Machine758 20:36, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- There won't be a PS3 version of Titans, but the producer stated that future Crash games would be available for the system if it makes you feel better. Cat's Tuxedo 21:10, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
Coming out dates?
[edit]I live in australia and we get everything after you people in america but im looking foward to getting the game and playing it. i need the release dates for australia —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.211.94 (talk) 22:02, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
I had some people ask around down there, and you guys get the game on October 11th according to EB down there. Jumpbutton 18:17, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
A little off-topic but the dates in the lead and infobox are inconsistent. Also there isn't European date in the infobox at all. Someone should fix those before GA review. --Mika1h 19:47, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Article assessment
[edit]Before I continue with this assessment, please do not take any offence at any of my critiques - I am trying to help you make the article better.
Citations
[edit]My main issues have to do with your usage of citations, they need some cleanup:
There is a bad citation in the list that has no textFixedThe citations could be filled out better, they lack author and date of the cited article.Fixed- Quotes from the game without a traceable source do not appear to be valid citations. They have no source, primary or secondary and cannot readily be verified so I cannot really tell if your description of the story is accurate or not (WP:IS policy).
My suggestion would be to quote a published cheat guide for the game for any storylines, it is verifiable when you use the {{cite book}} tag. With out proper citations on the Story section, that part appears to be a violation of the WP:NOR guidelines.
Other issues
[edit]Just one:
There are at least two red Wikilinks.I fixed those for you by deleting the internal references.
The Good
[edit]- The article has no WP:NPOV violations;
- It has good grammar, punctuation and spelling;
- It meets the WP:Note policy in my opinion;
- The text does well on avoiding WP:Jargon;
- The images all have fair use rationale.
I will put a seven day hold on your request so you can fix the issues.
- Jeremy (Jerem43 11:04, 9 October 2007 (UTC))
Notes
[edit]- I have looked over the fixes you did and they look good, but I still have some issues with the use of Primary sources in the Story section. I have asked for a second opinion on them just to make sure.
- I also looked at the images and they all have a fair use rationale, so that is good.
Please add the |author= and |date= tags to your {{cite web}} references, I looked at many of them and the information is in the articles on several of the pages including IGN, Gamespot and Gamespy.
Otherwise this is looking good. -Jeremy (Jerem43 17:09, 10 October 2007 (UTC))
So this is what I've got so far:
GA review (see here for criteria)
- It is reasonably well written.
- a (prose): b (MoS):
- It is factually accurate and verifiable.
- a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
- It is broad in its coverage.
- a (major aspects): b (focused):
- It follows the neutral point of view policy.
- Fair representation without bias:
- It is stable.
- No edit wars etc.:
- It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
- a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
- Overall:
- Pass/Fail:
Second opinion here- since the only problem the reviewer has left is the game-referencing, I'm passing this article. As can be seen in various video game FA's (Final Fantasy VIII, for one example), it is considered acceptable for an article to reference quotes from the game itself for the plot section. I have no other objections besides this, so it's good to go. --PresN 23:57, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
Great that was the only thing that had me worried. - Good Job Cat's Tuxedo. - Jeremy (Jerem43 01:40, 12 October 2007 (UTC))
That was'nt my release date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[edit]It's says on here that the NTSC release was 4 october. Look on most websites and they'll tell you it was the 2nd. In fact, it was. We need to hunt down the vandal.88.109.179.70 16:29, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
GameSpot lists the release date as October 4. Cat's Tuxedo 22:45, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
Then would you mind explaining how I obtained the game on the third, which was the release date that was given by Radical Entertainment in many interviews? Jumpbutton 21:14, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I got mine on the third too.

Adoptive
[edit]Coco is adopted? What the crap? No one ever said she was adopted. Angry Sun 18:48, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
We have no proof that Coco is Crash's biological sister. She wasn't introduced until the second game, and Crash has existed since the first. Cat's Tuxedo 18:57, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
Yes, but we have no proof that she's adopted by Crash. Actually no one said that she's Crash's biological or adopted sister. Princess_Elise17 10:33, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
That does pose a bit of a promblem. Cat's Tuxedo 10:25, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
This can be noted as a simple retcon, as Naughty Dog have been noted to say that Tawna was too risque for the series back then, and that they still wanted a female character. The decision to make the character Crash's sister is something i'm not familiar with, but if anyone can manage to find any article about the replacement of Tawna, it would definately be an acceptable replacement for the whole adopted thing. Jumpbutton 21:21, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
hmmmmm
[edit]When are they going to put the crash of the titans update on crash o pedia, so we will know the differences of characters through out the games. Bingodile 09:40, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Shouldn't be long now, we're working on it. Jumpbutton 21:16, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Guess What? HPZr has made the crash-o-pedia update as well as the CotT section!88.109.50.205 18:21, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Question
[edit]The back of the game box says that it has mild language yet the only word I've seen in the game is "hell" which is in the move Hellfire Footstomp. Is there something I'm missing and should this be mentioned in the article? --Coconutfred73 00:23, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Coco Bandicoot: "That name sucks!" Even if that was the only mild language in the game, it's not notable enough to be in an encyclopedia. Besides, this just became a Good Article, so we shouldn't be tarnishing it with trivial details. Cat's Tuxedo 01:31, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Trivia
[edit]Whoever's trying to add a filthy Trivia section, stop. Trivia doesn't belong on Wikipedia or any encyclopedia on Earth, and you all know that. We've grown out of ordinary mascot game articles. This is a Good Article, so let's keep it that way. Cat's Tuxedo 22:59, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Oh oh oh... Trivia is in almost every Wiki Article since it's creation. So yes they do belong. Besides we need a place for numerous references in the game like the reference to Mario and Spyro Angry Sun 23:59, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- No we don't. The article already cites that there are numerous pop-culture references in the game; it would be redundant to cite each and every single one of them in the article. That's for Crash Mania. Cat's Tuxedo 00:03, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
And? This Wiki does it too.
Mario and Spyro are the most important refs. I doubt Crash Mania will talk about the Mario and Spyro refs... Angry Sun 01:26, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
How about actually going there? You'll actually find that Spyro has already been referenced numerous times on various different pages...and that's WITHOUT the Titans page up yet. Don't assume things. CBFan 14:14, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Trivia sections states that trivia sections are highly discouraged here in Wikipedia. You can't fight the rules. Cat's Tuxedo 14:41, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
So then why are Trivia sections all over the place? Hmm? And I don't believe that CM will cover Mortal Kombat or Mario seeing as those are not even related to Crash...Angry Sun 14:50, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Once again, why don't you actually GO to Crash Mania? You'll see that they cover references to just about EVERYTHING the Crash series parodies and whatnot. Check their "Tag Team Racing" page, for example, EVERYTHING they've found has been mentioned. CBFan 17:23, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I visit it on a daily basis... And I see nothing but Crash Refs. No Mario Ref. No Sonic Ref. Nothing. Just Crash.
P.S JB: When do those Character Updates come? Case and Point: http://hpzr.freeweb7.com/triviacttr.htm Sure it mentions Indy but still talking about Crash. Angry Sun 05:46, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, checking ONE page is OBVIOUSLY not going to provide anything, and of COURSE it's about Crash, because they're Crash games. It's not going to have references to, say, Mario within a Spyro game, is it? Sheesh. CBFan 16:17, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Japanese Relaease
[edit]Hey, does anyone know about a Japanese release of the game? ADBandicoot 17:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- At the moment, unfortunately, no, though Crash Bandicoot games are usually released in Japan during the wintertimes, so something should come up by now. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 23:29, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately... Radical has told me that there won't be a Japanese release this year. I didn't get a reason, there just won't be one for some reason.Jumpbutton (talk) 00:42, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Wait, so it's going to come out next year? Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 02:20, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry if I didn't make it clear, but apparently there won't be one at all, at this point. Jumpbutton (talk) 08:17, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:TitansCast.PNG
[edit]Image:TitansCast.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Comments
[edit]Okay, I've copyedited the whole article. However, probably the most useful and substantial changes will come for concerns that I have that should be addressed by the main contributor, who I assume is someone familiar with the game. I'll have a list of concerns/issues by tomorrow. Ashnard Talk Contribs 18:43, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, let's take a look:
- "create an army of loyal mutants out of the inhabitants of the Wumpa Islands." This sheds no light on how this happens and leaves me confused. "out of"?
- "must stop Cortex's plot by". Wouldn't it be more appropriate to say that he tries to stop Cortex himself, and not his plot?
- "Titans" are mentioned in the lead but not explained.
- "The game received fair reviews" Do you think "mixed" would be clearer than "fair".
- "the game's length was noted by critics". Too long; too short. Positive; negative. Means nothing.
- "from being destroyed by the main antagonist's Doominator weapon." Again, no point in introducing a term and then not explaining it. Strange to speak about the general premise of the game then use a specific like this in the sentence.
- I think it's very debatable to have a paragraph dedicated to health, especially when it contains the same generic concept in most platformers, but with game-specific variations.
- "using an enemy animal's attacks to snipe bombs,". Is meaningless unless explained further. Remove or explain.
- "the rank can be improved by defeating a set number of minions, destroying three "spy-toilets" or scoring a minimum combat hit combo." I personally wouldn't go into specifics regarding this. The concept can be established without this. I'd definitely remove the subsequent sentence.
- "This process is repeated until the game is won." What? Surely you don't mean this is how the game is completed. If so, the sentence is needless and questionable grammatically.
- "items that can be used to restore health, provide temporary invincibility, set off Nitro explosions, etc." You can only use et cetera on the assumption that the reader will know about other things. This would probably make sense for the first two items, but when the last is a subject-specific gameplay aspect, "etc" doesn't make sense.
- "Mojo jackpot.". Explain.
- "for Crash to defeat, larger enemies, known as "Titans", require more than that." Strange to end the sentence like this.
- "The meter rises when the Titan takes damage, and depletes when Crash stops attacking the Titan." Strange to mix passive and active regarding the same concept.
- "form of a white-furred "Carbon Crash"." Don't have a clue what this is.
- Going through each location is quaetionable; best to talk about things generally. Everything within "plot" should be condensed.
- "evolved bandicoot" What's that supposed to mean in this context.
- For the third paragraph in "characters"m either delete it or do some major condensing to merge with the second paragraph.
- I'm not going to analyse the story too deeply. I'll just say this: try to cut it down and avoid the point-by-point style. Sentences like "Escaping from the collapsed Doominator, Cortex praises Nina for betraying him, and promises to be more evil in the near future, but proclaims that he is still going to spank Nina as punishment" are making this longer than it should be.
- For the "development" section, there;s no need to list all of the contents of the special edition.
- Clash of BrE and AmE: "criticized" and "dialogue".
- "including a nod to films such as" Watch out for informal phrasing.
- "that it lacked the distinctive feel of past Crash Bandicoot games" Could you reword this? I'm unsure about "feel" being used like this.
- "GameSpy criticized the game for the same reason along with the unsteady framerate, but was more positive in their opinion, praising the game's attractive graphics and offline co-op mode". Hard to make sense of. Reword.
- I don't see any mention of the game's music in "Reception".
- Personally, I think that arranging these sections by pros and cons is just basic. I wouldn't mind, but I just think it's not appropriate for FA material. Some disagree with me, though.
- I don't see any point in listing which games the game lost the awards to. Surely if it's listed as a nominee, then it is to be assumed not to win.
- Sources
- Ref 60 is missing the date even though it's contained in the source.
- Ref 56 and 57 are missing publisher info.
- Ref 46 needs information on the date.
- Ref 36-40 needs information on the date.
- What's going on with ref 7?
- What makes ref 5 reliable?
Okay, I hope this helps. Ashnard Talk Contribs 17:48, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

1 million
[edit]I visited the German Wikipedia article for Radical Entertainment and it says the game has sold a million copies. It had a source, too. --88.109.24.237 (talk) 18:24, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Is that source reliable? If so, we could use this in the article. We'll put it in the Reception section if we deem it so. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 12:34, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I didn't look at the source. I'll check. --88.109.24.237 (talk) 15:02, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- It was from a page on the Radical Entertainment website. I'm not sure if that's reliable enough. --88.109.24.237 (talk) 15:03, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure if we should use it myself, to tell you the truth. We'll have to ask more experienced editors about this matter and find out. Cat's Tuxedo (talk) 13:03, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
