Rewriting article

[edit]

During the AfD discussion on this article, I offered to rewrite the article. The previous article was unsourced, informal, and full of point of view. It may take a few more days to get this article finished, but I moved my work to the main space to show that progress is being made. GaryColemanFan (talk) 18:59, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review

[edit]
This review is transcluded from Talk:Sarah Stock/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

Intro

[edit]

Hello. My name is weebiloobil, I will be your reviewer for the forseeable future. Due to the lengthy wait before this review, I shall attempt to complete this review as quick as possible, although of course I will never sacrifice quality. Due to the fact that I will be revewing Dark Angel (wrestler) and Juggernaut (wrestler) at the same time, comments about one of the articles can be left on the review page for the other, if you so desire, to save time flitting between the articles. Whilst reviewing articles is a speciality of mine, wrestling is not, and so I may appreciate some help with terms, and the like. Good luck!

Note: It has been five days since the above was posted and the reviewer hasn't edited on Wikipedia since then, so I am removing the "under review" tag at WP:GAN in the hope of finding a reviewer. GaryColemanFan (talk) 15:31, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Take two

[edit]
GA review (see here for criteria)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
The article seems to suggest that Stock only wrestled under the name "Dark Angel" for a brief time, though the citations suggest it has been in use longer. Given the article is titled "Dark Angel", this seems incongruous to me.

It is hard to get a handle on the time frame of Stock's time spent in various promotions (debut). The entire section seems to encompass only about a year and a half, but with only two date mentions, I kinda get lost. Can this be addressed?

There also does not appear to be much after 2006. Is there more information available on what Stock has been up to in the past two years?
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Images would be nice, but not necessary for GA
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
Decent article overall, especially compared to what it was when AfDed. I'd say a few minor clarifications and this is a GA. Resolute 00:15, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the review. In response to your comments: (1) I agree that the statement about Stock returning to her real name is proven false by the sources. I removed the sentence. As for the article name, your comment made me realize that the article should probably be moved. She competes under multiple ring names, including her real name in Shimmer. I don't know if moving the article midway through a GA review is wise, though. (2) I added dates to the "Debut" section. I agree that following the career of an independent wrestler can be confusing, as some (like stock) wrestle for several promotions in quick succession just to get some ring time. (3) It's hard to find information from good sources. Wrestling rumor sites talk about her, but they're not particularly reliable. I expanded the discussion of Stock's career with Shimmer, though.

Please look these changes over when you have a chance and let me know what you think. Thanks again, GaryColemanFan (talk) 01:54, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have addressed my concerns. I'm now ready to list this as a GA, but I will let you move the article first. As such, I'll do all of the "paperwork" in adding it to the GA page, etc a bit later after the article is moved. Regards, Resolute 02:28, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. The article is now at Sarah Stock. GaryColemanFan (talk) 02:43, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sarah Stock/TNA Wrestling

[edit]

SHIMMER Women Athletes promoter Dave Prazak is now confirming the story broke by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, saying Sarah Stock has indeed signed with TNA Wrestling as she personally told him herself (she appears on SHIMMER events).

Dave Prazak wrote the following on the official SHIMMER forum:

"Actually, the only reason I didn't report it first is because Sarah didn't give me the green light to do so. PWInsider.com broke the information on the net first.” TNAFan09 (talk) 16:44, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article Name

[edit]

I think this article should be moved to Sarita(Wrestler), or whatever is the current naming policy. Traditionally they will be titled by the show name of the wrestler, but with the disambiguation page at Sarita, the wrestler distinction should be added. Sephiroth storm (talk) 02:32, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Naming conventions state that the article should be titled under the subject's most common name. Stock only recently began competing as Sarita. She has competed in other major wrestling promotions for several years as both Dark Angel and Sarah Stock (as well as a few names that were used only briefly). Either Dark Angel or Sarah Stock would be considered the most common name, so it was agreed that it would be best to just use her real name. GaryColemanFan (talk) 02:37, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Gary. Though I feel it should be Dark Angel since she is known mainly as that.--WillC 02:44, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

What happened to the picture from this article? Sephiroth storm (talk) 22:38, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If I can assume you're referring to the image I removed on July 4, 2008. I took it out per Wikipedia:Non-free content#Images_2, which states that it is unacceptable to use images of "Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing; provided that taking a new free picture as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible) would serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the non-free image. This includes non-free promotional images." In other words, using a copyrighted picture just to illustrate the article of someone who is still alive (which means that it is quite possible for someone to take a free-use picture of her) constitutes copyright infringement, and Wikipedia wouldn't have any real defense if a lawsuit was filed. GaryColemanFan (talk) 23:27, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, there was a free image here, taken at a live event. Sephiroth storm (talk) 16:30, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So, can we have another pictire or the old one put back?
[edit]

Looks like the navbox at the end of the article got messed up. I have no idea how to fix it or I would (No, I didn't break it :D ). Could someone please take care of this? 69.136.13.211 (talk) 00:42, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fitness/bodybuilding?

[edit]

Apparently Sarah's pretty big on fitness/bodybuilding, having won several bodybuilding contests for CMLL and being involved in her fair share of fitness photoshoots. I'm wondering how one would go about categorizing her exploits in that field and adding it into the article's introduction—or if it's even notable enough to warrant that. 76.108.177.1 (talk) 22:15, 4 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Belly-to-belly suplex finisher

[edit]

Simply stating it's a belly-to-belly suplex would indicate that it's a standard overhead belly-to-belly suplex (the most common execution of the move), when she used a side version of it in TNA, sometimes applied with a single hammerlock before driving her opponent to the mat with the move. I only changed the name of the maneuver, not its type, so I don't know what the deal with the reversal is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AjaKongfan (talkcontribs) 22:02, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Find a reliable source that says that and you can change it. Current source simply says "belly-to-belly suplex". リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen)(ZOOM) 22:37, 21 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
