Business model

[edit]

What was the purpose of removing the information about their business model?

Is that list of locations really relevant? Perhaps it should be removed and replaced by a simple phrase about the number of stores around the US, Asian, Candada, etc.

i got a question. what ever happened to the big troll ogre like creature in the front entrance(animatronic)

awww man. i saw this guy in jax have something like that happen. i don't know about the video though. but the cops tasered him, and then were like shakin down management. it was nuts. i felt sorry for his girlfriend and friends. i remember at one point he was just asking the cop for badge number and he got zapped. they wouldn't let him talk, barely breathe. i hope a lawyer contacts me sometime about it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.177.17.94 (talk) 08:27, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Steampunk design?

[edit]

I thought it was worth mentioning that they use steampunk styling for their lobby area (and other places)

Missing Basic Informations

[edit]

This article is very badly written missing a clear structure and vital informations. For example it references "tickets" several times without ever saying what those are. It reads like a highschool essay "What I did on the weekend".
If you don't already know what Dave & Buster's is and how it works the article is not understandable. --93.203.29.25 (talk) 07:29, 5 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

YouTube videos

[edit]

Daveandbusters1345 added YouTube videos that claim to be from Dave and Buster's. The videos are taken of the ceiling of some building and concentrate on the ceiling fans in the building. I do not believe they belong because they do not help anyone understand Dave and Buster's. These could be from any building anywhere. It falls under WP:ELNO#1. GB fan 14:41, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If we don't need videos of ceiling fans, we don't need pictures of ceiling fans. This isn't the ceiling fan article. Ian.thomson (talk) 14:33, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The ceiling fan vandal strikes again! If only all of our vandals were this amusingly clueless! — Kralizec! (talk) 13:17, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Standard discussion about ceiling fan guy

[edit]

Obviously, if we don't want links to youtube videos about ceiling fans, nor screencaps of said videos, we do not want links to wikias that consist of only links to the aforementioned youtube videos. Ian.thomson (talk) 00:29, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The link to the Wikia page does not belong. It is not a unique resource that adds anything to the article. It is an open Wiki, no need for it on the article. GB fan 00:34, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I put there because it's more organized (different pages). Gregorygoyle (talk) 00:47, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It is an open wiki. With no history of stability, the wiki is less than 3 days old. See WP:ELNO #12. Also, it is not a unique resource that is beyond what the article would be if it was a featured article, wee WP:ELNO #1. GB fan 00:55, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not to mention, that the Wikia has only three pages, the main page linking to two "location" pages that contain only videos of ceiling fans. Only ceiling fans. One has to be a liar, a psychotic, brand damaged, or blind (possibly a combination) to watch the videos and not describe them as "just ceiling fans." (Pretending for a moment here that Gregorygoyle isn't just another sock of Daveandbusters1345). Ian.thomson (talk) 00:57, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You liar! This wiki is over a month old, recent changes didn't change for over a month, so shut up. Gregorygoyle (talk) 01:00, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not a liar, the history of the Wiki shows a few days old, http://dave-busters.wikia.com/wiki/Special:RecentChanges GB fan 01:05, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And the only editor is obvious sock of Daveandbusters1345. Ian.thomson (talk) 01:07, 13 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That may have been a sock, but in fact it is over a month old--as can be seen from adding arguments to Special:RecentChanges to force it to show more time. Still, though, that probably doesn't affect whether it should be in the article. Cathfolant (talk) 02:40, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Location List

[edit]

I was thinking about adding a location list to the article to give it a bit of an expansion. As of 2017, the joint has 103 locations in the United States and Canada, which is not too many for a full-service restaurant chain, so why not add a list of locations? JE98 (talk) 17:06, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The thing is, will we do it better than the company's own website? --McDoobAU93 20:10, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, we could make it a bit more advanced. I already know of two in my area opening in 2018 that aren't on the locations page. JE98 (talk) 22:44, 27 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Merge from "Old Dave and Busters"

[edit]

The page Old Dave and Busters should be merged as-is or with some minor copy edit into a notable or famous location section in this article. Since the article is eligible for speedy-delete I will perform the merge myself in a few hours if there's no opposition. Thepenguin9 (talk) 12:24, 28 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The following is the contents of the deleted article.

The Old Dave and Busters refers to the Dave and Busters in White Flint Mall in Bethesda, Maryland. It opened at that mall in 1996 but shut down in August 2014 after it violated a lease agreement with the mall's owners by opening another location at the Arundell Mills Mall in Hanover, Maryland, which was too close to White Flint. At the time of the closing, only the arcade was open, as the restaurant closed in March of that year. There is a video on YouTube of people in the Old Dave and Busters the night it closed down. When the arcade closed, people left and walked into the mall to see it's shuttered entrance. The mall entrance that they walked into looked like one of those at the Great Mall of the Bay Area in the 1990s and the early 2000s. Note that Great Mall also has a Dave and Busters, which is still open today. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thepenguin9online (talkcontribs) 04:43, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Headquarters location is incorrect

[edit]

Dave & Busters headquarters is now in Coppell, TX. Moved from Dallas in 2022. https://www.dmagazine.com/commercial-real-estate/2022/02/dave-busters-relocating-headquarters-to-coppell/ Mikexgray (talk) 14:04, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
