Rallies in connection with Obiora's death

[edit]

I think a comprehensive or even exhaustive list of all rallies organized to protest the death of Eugene Obiora should be compiled here and then somehow presented in the article when an complete perspective can be gained. __meco 18:41, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date Place Numbers Organizer Organizations Sources
2007-05-07 Ministry of justice (Oslo) 250 Organisasjonen Mot Offentlig Diskriminering (OMOD), Antirasistisk Senter Dagsavisen
2007-05-08 Trondheim 1100 (500-600 according to police) African Union i Trøndelag Adresseavisa

Categorisation

[edit]

There's a bit of a problem with the categories here. It wasn't the death of Obiora that was a 1958 birth, a 2006 death, an Afro-Norwegian, a Nigerian emigrant, and a person who died in police custody. It was Obiora himself. The problem can be remedied in three ways: putting the Obiora redirect alone in those categories, deleting them, or moving the article to just "Eugene Ejike Obiora". If I were you I would go with the categories like Category:Alleged police brutality, Category:People who died in police custody, Category:Cause of death disputed, etc. I checked some of the other categories like Afro-Norwegian and there is only one other person in there anyway. Same with Category:Nigerian emigrants. There is a Category:Dead people but I have not checked it out. --Mattisse 23:06, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Income figure removed from article

[edit]

I have removed the information about his exact salary the years before his death. It seems to me that the only reason someone would add that information is that it is the "unbiased" way of calling him a leech on society. Anyway it doesn't add anything to the article and certainly doesn't belong here. 213.100.42.208 (talk) 08:54, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am unsure of the correctness of your assertion. I added this and I have no agenda of having Obiora labelled as a social security recipient (which I myself also am, btw.), I simply figured that it was an additional piece in a puzzle to provide the most comprehensive perspective of who he was. I have no strong feeling about this, so unless other editors raise their grievances in this respect, I shall not contest your edit. __meco (talk) 09:22, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
