Yuor reference says nothing about «poorly equiped Russian border control». Of course, may be, that for some Europeans is more easy to accuse Russian people of every bad thing in foreign relations... But were some of you at this border? Only one lane for passenger cars and one for truck at the Finnish side vs three lanes for passenger cars and five for trucks at Russian side. I was at that border small time ago and I can tell you how's it really going there. Note that incoming to Russia trucks' queue is only at Finnish side. It is written in the source that "As there is not enough handling capacity at the border for periods of congestion, occasional queues occur." The source is the Finnish road authority, not a private persons website. The edit summary of User:HeikoEc's changes: "Added missing spaces in road names according to official UNECE document" ([1]) begs the question. The description given in that document:
The sign to be used for identifying and signing E-roads [...] consists of the letter E, generally followed by the number in Arabic numerals attributed to the route
makes no mention of an obligatory space between the letter E and the number. Other equally official UNECE documents (e.g. [2], [3], [4], to cite but three) do not introduce such a space. "E 18" and "E18", for example, may both be found in official documentation. Given the stated rule concerning signage and the fact that the forms without a space are those more commonly used, I see no reason for acting on a presumption that there is a "missing space" in such route numbers as "E18". -- Picapica (talk) 09:03, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
