That isn't a picture of the floaties? That picture is pretty clearly a seal a fish and a pig? According to one article I read the beaver is supposed to be red... that red thing is not a mammal.

Also Floaties were written about in Harper's January 2007 "Moby Duck: The Incredible Ocean Voyage or 20,000 Bath Toys" by Donovan Hohn

Those pictured are the floatees from the 2006 range, not the ones from the range lost overboard. Yomanganitalk 18:22, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyone know where "Friendly" came from? I'm a collector, in possession of the original packaging, and it just says "Floatees."

Also, the map on this page is snazzy but inaccurate. The spill happened just south of the Aleutians. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Plecnik (talkcontribs) 13:50, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Packaging does indeed say "Floatees" not "Friendly Floatees": http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Btf4Boe-Cjo/Twx0aodx53I/AAAAAAAABXY/NXszwkybxDU/s1600/TFY2103-01.jpg . Seems to be a mistake that's continually passed on, possible originating in the media many years ago. 66.130.207.107 (talk) 18:34, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

$80.000

[edit]

Is that eighty dollars or eighty thousand?199.101.56.122 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:26, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like it was originally $100, and changed to $80.000 in April along with a silly year change - someone noticed the latter and took out the whole sentence as dubious, but left the reward unchanged. I've restored both. --McGeddon (talk) 15:32, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Did they arrive in UK or not?

[edit]

The story says that what arrived in UK in 2007 wasn't a Floatee, but the map indicates that they did arrive. --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 01:52, 27 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

– These two articles are not about the toys and the ship respectively, but instead about specific spilling incidents. Since the articles are about the spills, they should be renamed to reflect that fact. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 20:18, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It was also mentioned, and probably reenacted, in Blue Planet II's episode "Big blue", so that should be included.2600:1700:6841:4980:95EA:1A4C:1416:B314 (talk) 18:13, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
