Soundtrack
[edit]I propose that List of songs in Guitar Hero be merged back into its parent article. It is currently a content fork of this article, with no extensive information that could not be stated here. That article no longer meets the Featured List criteria, as it is simply a content fork of this article (See WP:Stand-alone lists). NuclearWarfare (Talk) 18:21, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree that it is a content fork, because it is a separate article due to the size of the main Guitar Hero article, thus qualified for forking under summary style. It could be merged in but it would make the parent article too large. (Note that this is contrast to, say, Guitar Hero: On Tour where there's no enough about the basic game to necessitate a separate article). --MASEM (t) 18:55, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose, the soundtrack is large enough to merit its own article. — Levi van Tine (t – c) 11:53, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Note Scorpion0422 (talk · contribs) commented at another FLC that creating a List of songs in the Guitar Hero franchise (or some variant of). I feel that that might be a good idea; it would allow for increased access by users as well as an end to the excessive content forking. NuclearWarfare (Talk) 23:38, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
- Commented there , but that would be a list presently of 500 songs and growing. It is not that as a supplement to the other lists it would not be a bad idea, but it would make individual lists for individual games more difficult to use. --MASEM (t) 00:06, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- I came onto this page to see the setlist specifically. When I go to any of the pages for a game like this, it's to check the setlist out. So it's annoying to have to go to yet a another page. The Guitar Hero setlist is actually pretty short and is not "growing". It doesn't have downloadable content. So, in this case, put the setlist in the main article. I'm betting that's the reason most people check out the page. -- Sicksteanein (talk) 16:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- No offense here. A realistic example that I have created since last year (still uncredited -_-") and under progress is the List of GuitarFreaks & DrumMania songs. Check the talk page. Therefore, it is not advisable to fit everything into a single page. Do check out Beatmania pages for their respective setlists. DrumMania and GuitarFreaks presently have a total of 600+ playable songs at the moment. Fireblaster lyz (talk) 16:39, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

- I'm pretty sure that Masem is right in that creating one giant songs list for the whole franchise would be too big. And THAT would be growing, Sicksteanein, which is what Masem was referring to. Having said that, whether some of the lists (such as this one) merit merging into their game articles is another matter. In this case we have a 33k article and a 13k list so it certainly could be done, though on the other hand this seems like a fairly natural list to me, not an artificial content fork so not a clean fail of 3b like some of the other lists knocking about - rst20xx (talk) 23:24, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

HOPOs
[edit]I'd like to pre-emptively state that even though the information about GH1 HOPOs comes from a forum, it is nonetheless verifiably posted by the person who actually wrote the HOPO code for both GH1 and GH2, and thus since that person is not me, the information is not original research, and the source is valid as per WP:V. 75.130.77.189 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 09:44, 15 February 2010 (UTC).
- Even if the user is verified, the information about this is awfully trivial - it's not necessary or helpful information for the general reader. --MASEM (t) 16:47, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
