Nationality of Heather Stanning[edit]

As Helen was born in England and only moved to Scotland aged 10, how did she become Scottish? I am English and moved to Scotland when I was 34 that was some 32 years ago and the last time i looked at my birth certificate it still read born in England.213.1.33.111 (talk) 18:20, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well the article now just describes her as a "British" rower. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 23:24, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, looking at the history of the article, it appears that it was only a brief portion of August 1 2012 that she was described as "Scottish" - that may well have been vandalism. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 23:29, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rowing is competed for at British level, so I would say that the article should read 'Heather Mary Stanning (born 26 January 1985) is a British rower'. If no-one disagrees on this talk page I will change it in due course. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Iainturnerisgod (talkcontribs) 18:54, 1 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

About her army work[edit]

This article makes it clear that she is in the army. I believe that as part of her army work, she has served in Afghanistan. Does any one think that this is informative enough about her to go in the article? I am well aware that she is currently better known for her success at the 2012 Summer Olympics. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 10:51, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why not? Background, personal life, career etc. as long as they don't stray into the trivial and are referenced only add to the article?--Egghead06 (talk) 11:02, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As long as it's cited of course and not speculation or original research. Miyagawa (talk) 17:10, 2 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
