Requested move 1 April 2021
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Moved, disambiguation page created at Ivan Jurisic (non-admin closure) Tol | Talk | Contribs (formerly Twassman) 01:05, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
- Ivan Jurišić → Ivan Jurišić (footballer, born 1956)
- Ivan Jurisic (Serbian footballer) → Ivan Jurisic (footballer, born 1970s)
– Neither appears primary based on page views. Both are Serbian, so disambiguating by nationality doesn't really work. Birthyear for latter is between 1972 and 1974 so disambiguating by that I'm not really sure...1970s? RedPatchBoy (talk) 23:12, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. RedPatchBoy (talk) 23:41, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- How about Ivan Jurišić (Serbian footballer, born 1956) and Ivan Jurisic (Serbian soccer)? The younger Jurisic played in North America. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 23:53, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- I'm okay with using soccer for the North American based player. I'm more inclined to use that, but went with footballer due to what was already there. Year should probably be included for consistency though with the other one in your proposal. Talk:Mamadi_Camará#Requested_move_26_March_2021 should be closing tomorrow (7 days), so we could consider the result there and use it to make the decision for this one. RedPatchBoy (talk) 00:35, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Right, looking back at my reply, adding "Serbian" doesn't disambiguate and is unneccessary. Agree that that other RM could be used as a precedent for this one, and it seems to be leaning towards "soccer+date"/"footballer+date" right now. 162.208.168.92 (talk) 00:46, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- As per WP:NCSP, we can use positions to disambiguate if nationality and birthyear don't work. So Ivan Jurišić → Ivan Jurišić (defender) and Ivan Jurisic (Serbian footballer) → Ivan Jurisic (forward) should do.@162.208.168.92:@RedPatchBoy:--Ortizesp (talk) 01:59, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nomination and would also support Ivan Jurišić → Ivan Jurišić (defender) as well as Ivan Jurisic (Serbian footballer) → Ivan Jurisic (forward) per Ortizesp, along with support for creation of the Ivan Jurisic disambiguation page which would list both men. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 16:45, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support disambig by YOB. Trying to split by nationality/'form' of football is far too confusing. YOB is simplest. Also create dab page at base. GiantSnowman 17:46, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
- Support as proposed (ie by YOB) and creation of DAB st base name. Andrewa (talk) 23:51, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
