Merge Jay R (album) with Jay R Sillona?

[edit]

I don't think it will be right to merge a self-titled album to the artist's article... Kristelzorina (talk) 02:45, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And why would that be? WP:N and WP:MUSIC clearly state that without sufficient third party content, stub articles should be merged to the parent article. Active Banana (talk) 04:45, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I added additional information and sources on Jay R (the album) page. I think it's enough info to not merge it on Jay R Sillona article... Do you think? Kristelzorina (talk) 01:58, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The only sourced content is sourced to Tikipilipino which does not strike me as meeting the WP:RS guidelines of a place with a reputation for fact checking and accuracy. Is this a place that is quoted by reliable sources? is it run by people with their own articles in Wikipedia as recognized experts in the music field? is it affiliated with an academic institution in a way that the college/university says "we stand behind this website"? has it won major awards based its factual content? [1] It doesnt appear to. Active Banana (talk) 02:17, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm researching for more reliable sources, but it's really hard to find them, specially when the references I'm searching for are for Filipino articles.Kristelzorina (talk) 03:09, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a Filipino version of Spin or Vibe or Rolling Stone that would have a professional review? Is there a review in one of the major newspapers? Does someone put out an annual book The Year in Filipino Music? Is there a weekly entertainment newspaper from one of the major cities that covers concerts and films and does reviews? These questions seem helpful... I don't think that I'll find references like that, but I'll keep looking. It's really hard improve these articles, coz Philippines doesn't even have a SoundScan. Thanks, by the way. Kristelzorina (talk) 05:09, 1 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How about any sort of biography of the artist that identifies his thoughts and approaches to creating the album or that quantifies what impact the ablum had on his career? Is there any commentary on other similar albums that appeared afterward as feeding of this album as inspiration or identifying a market for a market for a particular new genre? Title

[edit]

Gaudencio Sillona III (born February 1, 1981), who performs under the mononym Jay R ...

Doesn't this mean the title should be either: Jay R (currently a redirect) or Gaudencio Sillona III, but NOT what we currently have? If he's ever identified as "Jay R Sillona", that should be made explicit up front. -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 02:43, 17 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
