Most of those books published in 2000, 2005 etc and since major news medias are using the requested name now, it shows it is the common name! --Tito Dutta (talk) 06:17, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Tito, Can you please add a Hindi/Bengali name/source/ref? Would aid checking what recent non-English sources there are. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:43, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I generally do not work on regional language while requesting RM. See User:Titodutta/Talk#Requested_move. I am not sure about Bengali and Hindi RS too. I have searched in Google in Bengali, results are mixed. I am giving transliteration of each word separately below, see if it helps you somehow-
Word Hindi Bengali
Jaya जया জয়া
Seal शील শীল
Ghosh घोष ঘোষ

Hi. Yes but several wp guidelines, etc, do indicate that where English sources come up short original sources should be referenced, the vast majority of Olympian/sports BLPs depend to some degree, shown or not, on some awareness of local sources. And in any case a BLP article typically needs the real name. I suppose I should have realised that "Seal" was "piety" शील in Hindi, but it doesn't help much as only produces a couple of sources with no "Seal Ghosh". Are we 100% sure शील is correct - it seems a little strange that there are so few refs for this actress. In ictu oculi (talk) 00:22, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It also seems strange to me that there seems to be no article for this actress at Hindi Wikipedia. But looking at Category:Indian actors here I see that of the first four articles listed, judging by their other language links none currently have Hindi versions. One has a single other language version in German, one has one in Portuguese, and the other two no links to other language versions at all. So perhaps it's not so strange. Hindi Wikipedia has over 100,000 articles but it seems they're on other topics. I wonder how many articles English Wikipedia has on Hindi-related subjects?
