Lin Feng-jiaoJoan Lin – Should this person's name be romanized or English-influenced? Relisted. BDD (talk) 21:58, 18 July 2013 (UTC) George Ho (talk) 16:53, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Joan Lin Feng-Chiao per HKMDB, which also lists many of the other ways her name is spelled. Or without the dash, per [1], which also lists several other spellings. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 12:45, 9 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per common name. There's more google hits for "lin feng-jiao" than "joan lin" or variations. --Cold Season (talk) 13:48, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment – What about "Lin Fengjiao" according to pinyin? --Article editor (talk) 02:28, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment why? She's not a mainlander, and starred in Hong Kong films. Being Taiwanese would use Wade-Giles for personal names, and being a Hong Kong star would use Cantonese romanizations. Further, Hong Kong is the only English-speaking locality of the three (Taiwan, mainland, HK) -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 05:44, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • Comment – Hanyu Pinyin has been officially the standard in Taiwan since 2009. --Article editor (talk) 14:00, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 2[edit]

Lin Feng-jiao → ? – Shall we include her English name, Joan, into the tile? Should the Chinese romanization be Hanyu Pinyin (Lin Fengjiao) or Wade-Giles (Lin Fung-chiao)? There was no consensus to prefer the English name, so I wonder if it should be consistent with a variation, like Ivy Ling Po. Relisted. BDD (talk) 23:43, 27 September 2013 (UTC) George Ho (talk) 16:02, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Use Joan Lin Feng-Chiao (HK romanization, as she acted in HK, which is an English-speaking locality) or Joan Lin Fung-Chiao (as Taiwan names usually capitalize the second syllable, and HK name order, as being an actress in HK, the particular English-speaking locality with TIES to this person) -- 70.24.249.39 (talk) 06:22, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per common name. --Cold Season (talk) 18:20, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Cold Season: Perhaps ignore what news articles and books say in favor of including English and Chinese name in one title? --George Ho (talk) 20:21, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Use Joan Lin Feng-Chiao not Fung per Historical Dictionary of Taiwan Cinema 2012 Page 266. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:19, 28 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
