modelsobserver.com links
[edit]This and other Wikipedias in other languages have been relentlessly spammed by anonymous IPs based in Israel (where the domain is registered) for many months. It's gotten sufficiently bad as to warrant addition to the spam blacklist and I have removed a number of these links in anticipation of blacklisting:
- Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Spam#modelsobserver.com (permanent link)
- meta:Talk:Spam blacklist#modelsobserver.com (permanent link)
Most, but not all, had been added by the site-owner.
If an established, high-volume editor sees value to the specific link I deleted from this article, please let me know and it can be evaluated for addition to the spam "whitelist"

Wikipedia is not a valid source for content
[edit]I have several times reverted addition of a year of birth to this article because it was accompanied by a citation to another Wikipedia. In the edit summary accompanying the reversion I put "Removed birth year and accompanying citation to Wikipedia. That source is not reliable. WP:USERGENERATED."
The year and ctation have been re-added each time, so I will try another explanation. WP:CIRCULAR says, in part, "Do not use articles from Wikipedia (whether English Wikipedia or Wikipedias in other languages) as sources, since Wikipedia is a user-generated source. ..."
Because this article is a biography of a living person, in addition to Wikipedia's basic principle of citing sources (Wikipedia:Citing sources), a special need for citations applies (WP:BLPPRIVACY). Content needs to be accompanied by a citation to a reliable, published, non-primary source. Eddie Blick (talk) 02:24, 17 March 2024 (UTC)
- Well, in Polish wiki it is sourced, so why not just use that source? 193.210.203.243 (talk) 01:07, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- Sure a source is a source. If Polish Wikipedia has one we can replicate the source here. However, we still need sources to be reliable, see Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Especially when dealing with a BLP. From pl.wiki one source is interfilmes.com which I haven't thoroughly investigated but gives me imdb vibes (which isn't acceptable on English Wikipedia). The other source wouldn't load in Internet Archive so I couldn't view it. Commander Keane (talk) 02:34, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
