Title
[edit]I defer to those who know these matters better than I do, and I see from the history that this has been a point perhaps of contention, but surely he does not retain the title of Bishop now that he is a Catholic layman, unless it is Church of England protocol to do so, which presumably he would not appreciate? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 15:58, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
- Unless some reliable and verifiable source is provided to the contrary the assumption ought to be that once received into the Roman Catholic Church they cannot in any meaningful or formal sense still be considered as Church of England bishops or entitled to retain any clerical styles. This ought to be "bleeding obvious" but strange things are always possible with the church. Anglicanus (talk) 16:32, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
thanks.--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 19:19, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Style section
[edit]is it encyclopaedic to have a section listing this history of how he has been addresses. Seems odd to me. -- Beardo (talk) 21:17, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
- Such sections are not uncommon in Wikipedia biographical articles about clergy and nobility. But I personally think that they are not appropriate. Noel S McFerran (talk) 23:00, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Mrs Burnham
[edit]The article states that Andrew Burnham's wife was received into the RC church. I believe this is not true, since she has been an adherent of the Jewish faith, and has not to my knowledge been baptised a Christian. 82.36.88.233 (talk) 17:51, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, you are correct. Thanks for correcting this. Anglicanus (talk) 12:42, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
