Brown withdrew troops?[edit]

Grant thought (in his memoirs) that Brown had withdrawn troops to harvest food for the state and for the army, thus undermining Hood's defense of the state. And enabling Sherman to take this same food for the Union on their way through! Can't seem to find modern support for this. Student7 (talk) 00:58, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

'Brown called for an end to the war' (1864)[edit]

Did he want Georgia to leave the Confederacy, and submit to Lincoln's rule? Or was he just appealing for a negotiated peace? Valetude (talk) 17:38, 13 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
