Fair use rationale for Image:John Babington Macaulay Baxter.jpg

[edit]

Image:John Babington Macaulay Baxter.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit]

The image Image:Richardhatfield.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --21:02, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image available for George E. King

[edit]

Just pointing out that there's a public domain image on Wikipedia for George E King that can be used in this table: File:George Edwin King.jpg. I'd add it myself but after several tries I'm buggered if I know how to do it without wrecking the table. - DustFormsWords (talk) 02:25, 20 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unofficial/Official affiliations

[edit]

Perhaps it's just me being an Upper Canadian, but I'm confused by this distinction. Though political parties were not registered in New Brunswick before 1935, they existed and were recognized as such. Parties in the UK weren't recognized in law until 1998 (though they were implicitly provided for in legislation from the early 20th century); the modern system of party registration in federal elections didn't exist before 1968, but in either case, they were certainly official long before then. What's the difference here? Does it have to do with representation in Cabinet? It would seem that at the very least, the party system was official by 1917, when MLAs declared their party affiliation to the Speaker. Just asking is all. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Geoff K. (talkcontribs) 03:26, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done This is not how the edit request process works. To make an "edit request", you need to provide the specific details of a specific edit that needs to be made to the article, such as a specific addition or correction — and then somebody else will make that change for you if it is appropriate and correct. Edit requests do not get you blanket carte blanche unlocks of semiprotection so that you can do the edit yourself — that is a request that will always be declined regardless of how many times you make it, because it is not what the edit request process is for. Either provide the specific details of a specific edit that needs to be made to the article, or go away. Bearcat (talk) 13:04, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Not done No reason given why this is needed, and the request is from a blocked user who's perennially disruptive about misusing the edit request process to make page unprotection requests without actually giving details about any needed edits.
