Harvard

[edit]

Hello, Liz Murray did graduate from Harvard, on June 4th, 2009. You can see that on her wikipedia page.

I have edited the page so readers can have a full perspective on the life of Liz Murray, and so they do not presume she completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard. Please respect this edit. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bluevanmeer (talkcontribs)18:32, June 19, 2007.
Please check the archive; this issue has been addressed. The content you added is original research, and per WP:BLP, it cannot be included. Joie de Vivre T 22:36, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is not original research; it is common knowledge avaliable to all who watch the movie "Homeless to Harvard." At the end of the movie, it says "Liz left Harvard in 2003."

I am not certain as to whether a film can be used as a source. Regardless, if you are telling the truth, then all the film says is "Liz Murray left Harvard in 2003". You can't extrapolate from that into stating whether or not she has graduated; it's been three years. Joie de Vivre T 01:59, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Bluevanmeer 22:43, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Ok, so I changed the page to say Liz Murray left Harvard in 2003, since that is what the movie says.Bluevanmeer 22:43, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You really, really should read WP:BLP. I will continue to remove any unsourced material added to this biography on a living person. It simply is not allowed to be here. Please read the page at the link I provided. Joie de Vivre T 03:50, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If the information is in the film, it is public, common knowledge. I think that is obvious.

She returned to Harvard after her father died, and completed her undergrad in 2008. Referencing a film is problematic, even if nonfiction it represents a tiny point in time for a living person. Example: anyone who watched Serpico is told that he left and never came back, in reality he came back a few years later. Same situation with Liz Murray. She constantly reminds everyone that she is not phenomenal, not a super-genius and that she is still surprised she got into Harvard. She still struggles somewhat with learning, and took time off to help her family, so it should not be a major surprise that it took her longer than average to complete her degree.98.225.230.65 (talk) 16:20, 30 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bold text--121.57.100.9 (talk) 06:34, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
