The result was: promoted by Lightburst (talk) 17:50, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Created by PalauanLibertarian (talk). Self-nominated at 13:15, 8 May 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Locumba uprising; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

New, long enough, neutral, cited, no copyvio as per Earwig. Hook is interesting and ALT0 is better in context. Hook is cited. QPQ needed. There are not clear mention of who is who before the names used in the article so reader might be unable to understood the context in the article. Please add designation etc in the article for making it more readable. The ongoing title issue need to be resolved as well.-Nizil (talk) 06:51, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
User:Nizil Shah, Besides for the title issue, is it good now? I was thinking we could also do
ALT2: ...that the Locumba uprising was thought by many to be a cover for an escape by Vladimiro Montesinos, Peru's defacto leader from 1990 to 2000? PalauanLibertarian🗣️ 15:22, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@PalauanLibertarian: New contributor to DYK as per QPQ check so no QPQ needed. ALT2 is too long so passing ALT0 instead. Title issue is yet to be solved. Keep up the good work! Regards,-Nizil (talk) 18:05, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Nizil Shah: The title issue is resolved. Can I be approved now. Thanks PalauanLibertarian🗣️ 15:10, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like a lot of long quotes. Lightburst (talk) 22:43, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
PalauanLibertarian (talk · contribs) I have already approved the nomination. @Lightburst:, there are three single sentence quotes in the article (with translations). It can be trimmed or removed if editor want but is not a problem in DYK nomination IMO.-Nizil (talk) 06:50, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 8 May 2023[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Withdrawn. Per the nominator's reply to me below and also a request on my talk page, they no longer wish to pursue this RM, and there are no other supports, so closing procedurally. Cheers  — Amakuru (talk) 07:46, 17 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Locumba uprisingLocumbazo – It is called Locumbazo generally in spanish speaking countries. Locumba uprising returns 248 results while Locumbazo returns 1740. PalauanReich🗣️ 22:08, 8 May 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. – MaterialWorks 22:24, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seems to be non controversial. Ill move it PalauanLibertarian🗣️ 21:18, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. First of all, the Spanish Wikipedia calls this Levantamiento de Locumba, which I believe means something akin to "Locumba uprising". Secondly, we shouldn't particularly use the Spanish name for this anyway, unless that name is also prevalent in English-language sources - something I'm not particularly seeing in this article's sources. The current title is descriptive, and hence a good fit for WP:RECOGNIZEability, so not seeing a reason to move.  — Amakuru (talk) 00:06, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    That is a good point. We shouldn't move it. PalauanLibertarian🗣️ 23:02, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
