London (Pet Shop Boys song)London (song) – As seen at London (disambiguation)#Songs, this seems to be the only existing article on the English Wikipedia for a subject about a song named London. • Oppose a cursory look at sources barely shows this standing out: this was 118 on the UK singles chart, so apart from providing for Pet Shop Boy completists it would be merged to album. Among the other songs The Smiths song "London" seems as notable and popular. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:11, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Plus we do have another article London (Lily Allen song) which was UK No.6 in 2006 (while Pet Shop Boys were UK No.118 in 2002), but is on Wikipedia as "LDN, pronounced London" In contrast BBC just calls it "London"). A clear case of common sense being needed. Lily Allen fans who only know the BBC spelling shouldn't be punished by Wikipedia. In ictu oculi (talk) 09:03, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Per WP:SONGDAB and the consensus in the comprehensive RFC, we do not include the artist name if there are no other articles on songs of the same name. Lily Allen's song is not titled "London", but "LDN".--Cúchullain t/c 13:57, 24 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - Normally, I would not oppose the concision on the title if only one song of the same name is notable. However, WP:GUIDES supersedes WP:SONGDAB and says that we can make some exceptions and best treat guidelines with common sense. In this case, "London (song)" is an unclear, ambiguous title and is well suited to be redirected to the dabpage. Also, the prominence of the Pet Shop Boys song doesn't compare to lesser known ones. --George Ho (talk) 05:44, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:SONGDAB. There seem to be no other songs on the dab page with that name, so it should be moved to "London (song)". And "LDN", even though it is shorthand for London, is still not called "London". Plus, the Pet Shop Boys were a well known artist in the 1980s, so "Pet Shop Boys song" should be just "song" until another song with an article comes along. • Oppose. The fact that the Lily Allen song is called "London" in many reliable sources, and is pronounced "London", means that it is a contender for the title "London (song)", and therefore this song, which is considerably less well known, cannot be considered a primary topic. Moreover, we don't normally assert primary topic between "(song)" or "(album)" variants anyway, per WP:NCMUSIC, we should always fully disambiguate by artist.  — Amakuru (talk) 13:56, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Too many other songs titled, let alone called, let alone associated with, London, for the proposed to be anything but ambiguous. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 08:04, 19 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
