SDF Airport data discrepancy

Good day.There is a discrepancy in how large SDF airport actually is.In the first paragraph and near the bottom of the article, it states SDF Airport is about 1500 acres in size. Go to Reference #1(FAA Airport Master record for SDF) and also Google SDF Airport Skyvector and both say the area of SDF is 1,200 acres.This is the only US airport wiki page with this discrepancy. Their webpage is the source of the stat there now. I did e-mail them 2 years ago and the figure of 1,500 acres is the correct figure.I know it seems inane but can you look into this for me. Support. Every other airport page I can find on Wikipedia uses the official name as the title. This airport name is no different than any other airport named after a famous person: John Glen (Columbus, OH), Louis Armstrong (New Orleans, LA), William Hobby (Houston, TX), Ted Stevens (Anchorage, AK), William Hopkins (Cleveland, OH). All of these airports reflect their official name in the title, but I do not think their namesakes are any more common. Oppose seems the official name is little used and even the airports logo uses the common name as well as most of the pages on the official website. Louisville International Airport → Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport – The airport was officially renamed 'Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport' in 2019. Although there was previously a move discussion in 2019 where it was argued that this name was not yet commonly recognized. But the name 'Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport' is now well established and widely used in official sources, media, and public. Move to Standiford Field. Ngrams are here. It didn't find any use of the proposed name and says it found only one use of the current article title. Wikipedia is supposed to lag behind sources, not take the lead. The airport has no international passenger flights, so it's unlikely to really have a common name that includes "International", and a polysyllabic five-word name that's 45 characters long seems pretty dubious as a common name as well. Some examples: The FAA refers to the airport as "Louisville International-Standiford Field Airport" (see here). TripAdvisor calls it "Standiford Field". A lot of those links are from the same source – the marketing department of the airport itself. Please see WP:OFFICIAL. Flylouisville.com is the airport's own website (cited twice in a row in your list), and nearly all of the social media links are the airport's own Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages. Bourboncountry.com is another affiliated promotional site. The local government is another affiliated source – isn't the airport owned and operated by the local government? Remember that the FAA is "the government" too. Wikipedia prefers the WP:COMMONNAME and WP:Independent reliable sources. If you ask someone which airport they're talking about, nobody's reply is going to be "Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport" – at least partly because it's not an international airport as far as passengers are concerned. —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 04:39, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
