Hello, I think the article name should be reverted to María Lourdes Carlé. In fact its more knowed as Lourdes Carlé than María Carlé. In a google search "María Carlé" has 16.300 results and "Lourdes Carlé" or "María Lourdes Carlé" has 60.000 results. Her name in social networks is LourdesCarle[1][2]. @Fyunck(click): I think it's worth having just "Lourdes Carlé" in the infobox name field to reflect her preference/non-database usage (i.e., Instagram name, most news coverage). Might even be worth an RM to make the title "Lourdes Carlé". Hameltion (talk | contribs) 00:55, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hameltion: What? Her name is María Lourdes Carlé not Lourdes Carlé. She has registered with the WTA the ITF and Billie Jean King Cup as María Lourdes Carlé. That is her preference in tennis. Fyunck(click) (talk) 01:05, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Fyunck(click): Sorry, "preference" was the wrong paradigm—should've said it seems to be more like official name vs. common name. I give an edge to her official name for the title for consistency with event result articles, but there may be different considerations for what to display atop the infobox. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 01:17, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's possible, but every infobox I see on tennis players show the registered name across the top... not just a middle and last name. And common name, since I would guess that 90+% of her name in print is WTA/ITF related, would be María Lourdes Carlé. Fyunck(click) (talk) 01:20, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's true. All she has to do is register with the ITF that she wants to change her name... like Stan Wawrinka did when he decided he wanted it Stan instead of Stanislaw. Fyunck(click) (talk) 02:20, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
