Place of birth
[edit]Degenek is a Serb born in Knin in 1994 which was at the time capital of Republic of Serbian Krajina, it is a historic fact. So, as Wikipedia shows place of birth and the country at the time of birth for Degenek's place of birth should stand Knin, Republic of Serbian Krajina and not Croatia. In 1994 Knin was not part of Croatia, only in August of 1995 Croatia took Knin in military action which resulted in exodus of all the population of Knin and that was destiny of Degenek family aswell. He never lived in Croatia, neither was born there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.136.45.132 (talk) 15:18, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

Miloš Degenek → Milos Degenek – Milos Degenek is an Australian association football player. No source provided that his name is spelt in this way. Multiple sources found spelling his name without the use of diacritics. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] Simione001 (talk) 02:53, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

- Support He is commonly referred to as Milos Degenek without diacritics, WP:COMMONNAME applies. Furthermore, the Australian government Department of Home Affairs does not issue documents (such as citizenship or birth certificates) with diacritic. All names may only contain standard English alphabetic characters, that is 'a' to 'z' or 'A' to 'Z'. Simione001 (talk) 04:33, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- You shouldn't really have attempted a tech move after being reverted, but brought it to RM yourself. Note that this passport argument has been roundly rejected on umpteen RMs over the years. In ictu oculi (talk) 16:41, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Note: This discussion has been included in WikiProject Football's list of association football-related page moves. GiantSnowman 09:24, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose per comments at similar RMs by same nominator, and the fact that the player in question uses diacritic in his Twitter. GiantSnowman 09:26, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Comment - @GiantSnowman: Yet you seemingly ignored the fact that Ned Zelic does not use diacritic on his twitter page [8] on the discussion page for the requested move of that particular article.Simione001 (talk) 22:45, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose this 25 year old's place of birth Knin, Croatia In ictu oculi (talk) 16:40, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Rovingrobert (talk) 12:33, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
