This whole article seems to have either been written by the subject, or by an exceedingly biased author. Jmlk17 01:50, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would go with exceedingly biased. Sudarkasa is very accomplished; its just this article that stinks. I tried cleaning it up, but left the NPOV tag on it. – Freechild (¡!¡!¡!¡) 14:36, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have cleaned up this page, added citations and whatnot. Consequently, I'm removing both tags that were here. – Freechild (¡!¡!¡!¡) 19:33, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

death?

[edit]

I don't think that her so-called death a year ago June has been sourced at all, no less properly. I'm virtually certain she has not passed and still teaches/works for an organization in Florida, where, as of yesterday, there was no reference there on her bio to her death (and the page had been updated within a couple of weeks). 24.239.66.183 23:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

please...

[edit]

some people generate strong opinions, and perhaps Dr. Sudarkasa is one of them. Whoever is inserting the nonsensical comments in her bio, would you please stop? First it was her death, then her arrest, and now she's been installed as royalty in Africa. Come one... People come to this site for information, and whoever you are, you are not doing this page or this [person's entry any service by making libelous comments and additions. 24.239.66.183 17:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote the majority of this article. All of the information in it is cited with reliable sources, except for the part about her death, which remains ambiguous from online sources. I rewrote that information according to the anon IP contributor above, and out of respect for the possibility she is alive. But the sources I found previous to that all insinuated her passing. That part about Yoruba? That's true - check the record. – Freechild (¡!¡!¡!¡) 17:35, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Feechild, I did check the reference and I stand corrected. Thanks!204.152.134.2 20:00, 24 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Request: more about Sudarkasa's involvement with the Barnes Foundation

[edit]

Niara Sudarkasa was / is a very accomplished individual. I'd like to know more about her involvement with the Barnes Foundation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.208.242.74 (talk) 15:02, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There seems to have been some conflict between the Barnes and Lincoln, personified in Sudarkasa and the Chair(?) of the Barnes, who was also Lincoln's general counsel (or possibly the personal conflict became an institutional one). Careful research could add significantly to the article. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 13:19, 13 September 2015 (UTC).[reply]
