same person or two people with same name?

[edit]

Article is about Prince Amponsah the footballer. Is he also an actor, or is the Prince Amponsah at IMDB a different person? --EarthFurst (talk) 07:44, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Different person, also deserving of a page though. NightShade1401 (talk) 14:27, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Prince AmponsahPrince Amponsah (footballer) – Not clear that the Macedonian Second Football League is a high enough level of play to give him WP:PRIMARYTOPIC rights over Prince Amponsah (actor). To be fair, the actor only just got his article today — he's been very much on the cusp of wikinotable for a while, with the Canadian Screen Awards finally pushing him over the line this morning (you'll even see that there's a prior question on this very talk page about whether the footballer and the actor were the same person or not!) — but now that the actor does have an article to consider, it isn't clear that the footballer would be more notable. For the record, I'm proposing a WP:TWODABS solution here, with the plain title converted into a disambiguation page, and am not suggesting that the actor should get the plain title at this time. ETA, however, primary topic may need to be reassessed in six months to a year when we can review an adequate period of actual pageview statistics — but the actor nearly matched the footballer in page views on the day the article got created and has more than doubled the footballer every single day since, with the added bonus that at least some of the footballer's pageviews can likely be attributed to this discussion, so it looks like the actor's probably on track to become the primary topic sooner or later.
