Picture?

[edit]

Is this picture really of the station, or just a generic Metro photo. Awiseman 02:37, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Generic; all the new Silver Line stations use the same photo, except Dulles, since we have a pic of Dulles. --Golbez 04:09, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, I'd guess that when the stations are built, though, that they will look more like New York Avenue, Morgan Boulevard, and Largo rather than Eisenhower Avenue. Still, it works as a generic picture. SchuminWeb (Talk) 10:08, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's true. The newer ones are a bit more futuristic. Plus, they're probably not all side platform, as Eisenhower Ave is. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jnelson09 (talkcontribs) 02:02, 7 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
In fact, they all appear to be center platform stations. Should we get a center-platform picture, then? --Jnelson09 02:06, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see any real purpose in replacing the photo of Eisenhower Avenue (which I basically chose to be a generic Metro photo) with a generic photo of a center-platform station. It seems a waste of time. I see such effort better used to work to replace the generic photo with a map or something similar to what we used on the articles for Wiehle Avenue, Tysons West, Tysons Central 7, Tysons Central 123, and Tysons East. WikiProject class rating

When does it really open?

[edit]

The [citation needed] template was replaced today with a good reference - straight from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Thanks, MistaTee. But, this brings up an odd question. The two references are at odds with each other: reference 1, the front page of the site, cites an opening date of 2016. Reference 2, which is the specific page for the station, cites TBD as the opening date. Which is correct? --Tim Sabin (talk) 01:03, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I received this email from Marcia Mcallister about this matter:

All of Phase II opens in 2016. Thanks.

This means that MistaTee's reference is right, and the information on the station pages is out-of-date. --Tim Sabin (talk) 16:40, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

– Following the move of the Green Line stations per the new WP:USSTATION guideline, these stations should have WP:NATURAL disambiguation (and eventually, consistency within the whole system). I think consensus there can be interpreted as a mandate to move them all, but for now, I thought this would be helpful for more pairs of eyes to check for possible naming conflicts. Note that Greensboro needs disambiguation. --BDD (talk) 19:28, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hulmem: See the move of the Green Line stations, linked above. All WMATA stations do have "Station" in their titles based on the pylons at each station. --BDD (talk) 16:32, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The occurrence of the word "Station" on the signs can't really be taken as an indication that "Station" is part of the official name. We would need actual sources to see how this things are named and referred to. I would put more trust in the list that Hulmem linked. Or look at other sources. And please stop citing the improperly managed RM as precedent until it is reviewed; see my Hold comment. Dicklyon (talk) 17:35, 26 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
