Seasonal games/goals table[edit]

Want to edit it to add a Leeds United Totals row but page is locked ... Does it really still need to be locked? Exeter White (talk) 00:42, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 11 February 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus. Sources in English seem to use the diacritic as often as not. Aervanath (talk) 22:55, 25 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Samuel SáizSamuel Saiz – Following Spanish ortography rules, Saiz has not tilde. Asturkian (talk) 16:48, 11 February 2018 (UTC)--Relisting.usernamekiran(talk) 20:16, 18 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I add one source from the Royal Spanish Academy. Asturkian (talk) 16:52, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
In the non-sports media, the name appears without it (ABC, El Mundo, Local "Diario del Alto Aragón") Asturkian (talk) 13:56, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Roman Spinner: 13:51 12 feb 2018‎ Asturkian (discusión · contribuciones)‎ (Asturkian trasladó la página Samu Sáiz a Samu Saiz: "Saiz" no lleva tilde.) (deshacer · agradecer) ... the nom just did this without any discussion on es.Wikipedia. I wouldn't put any weight on that. In ictu oculi (talk) 19:47, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@In ictu oculi: While this particular aspect of the nomination should not be ignored, it may be also taken into consideration that, as of this writing, Spanish Wikipedia has the second-highest number of users (4,901,534), the fourth-highest number of active users (16,326) and the fourth-highest depth ratio among the top ten Wikipedias by number of articles [nineteenth-highest among all Wikipedias]. It is likely that Samuel "Samu" Saiz has a considerable following among football enthusiasts, particularly in the Spanish-speaking world and, in the four days since the move, it seems probable that the main header would have been moved back had there been disagreement regarding its appropriateness. —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 22:22, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: Inclined to support, but puzzled that the version with the accent is so common... about equally common as the unaccented form, from my searches. If Spanish orthography doesn't support the accent, where is this coming from? Puzzling indeed that it would often be accented in English, but not in Spanish.
