Requested move 15 March 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Move. We have clear consensus that the baseball player isn't the primary topic. For now, the dab page will go to the base name. Cúchullain t/c 13:13, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
Sean Marshall → Sean Marshall (baseball) – Sean Marshall (basketball) and Sean Marshall (actor) is also notable too. -- Kanghuitari (talk) 02:28, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Comment if this is renamed, then Sean Marshall (disambiguation) should be moved to Sean Marshall -- 70.51.46.39 (talk) 04:11, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Support, and move Sean Marshall (actor) to Sean Marshall per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The baseball player is not the primary topic, but the actor article is: it gets about two thirds of the pageviews for "Sean Marshall", which is more than the others combined. Dohn joe (talk) 14:14, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Support proposed move and comment regarding moving the disambiguation page. Aside from a one week spike for the actor starting on February 19, no one is the main article. 2/3rds is not sufficient for the actor to get an undisambiguated page.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 18:24, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- But isn't 2/3rds far more than any other article, and more than all the other topics combined? Isn't that what WP:PRIMARYTOPIC calls for? Dohn joe (talk) 18:37, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- Support proposed move. Oppose moving (actor) to the main. I don't think his page views are impressive enough to declare him the Sean Marshall people want to see without a doubt. Nohomersryan (talk) 19:58, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
