MULTIPLAYER DEAD?
[edit]... as of roughly January 6 2011, multiplayer appears to be dead, no response from server - can anyone else confirm? If dead then it would be really useful to maintain a list of working IP addresses —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.156.173.48 (talk) 03:54, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

Unbalanced game
[edit]Most of the time, I was able to go forth and slaughter the enemies like chicken, so it practically shocked me when I encountered bosses and minibosses. For example, Hirogen Alpha and the Borg minibosses (not to mention the final boss, INSANE!) required me to reload MANY times to get through. Seems quite unbalanced to me. Other than that, the game is great though, just when I replayed it (several times) I really had no wish to bother with those bosses again, so I used godmode with them. It made playing the game a breeze, and not that it's not interesting enough so to get bored because of that. I believe those bosses so different in difficulty from the rest of the game were just unnecessary. Well, if they thought the game is too easy it would be nicer if they just made the regular enemies a bit tougher instead of tossing in super-badass-bosses. I'm not sure if it's just me, but if there are some reviews which say something similar, perhaps that info should be included in the article too. --Arny 02:44, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Ef234.jpg
[edit]Image:Ef234.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Etherians
[edit]It's been a while since I've played it, but I noticed a lot of similarities between the Etherians and the aliens in Equinox Parts I and II. Any point in mentioning this? --Thejadefalcon (talk) 08:33, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
- Not unless any reliable sources have commented on it. -- Sabre (talk) 17:08, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
- I thought not, but it was worth asking. --Thejadefalcon (talk) 11:45, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Jeri Ryan Voiceover Credit
[edit]On January 29, 2010, I attached Ryan's voiceover credit specifically to the official game patch version 1.2. The original retail game was never re-released to include her voiceover work for Seven Of Nine by default, so as it stands the voiceover credit for Seven Of Nine in Star Trek: Elite Force still belongs to Joan Buddenhagen. Ryan's voiceover credit doesn't take effect until the optional official Raven code is applied through Patch version 1.2. I have included the citation from IMDB indicating that Joan Buddenhagen is credited for Seven Of Nine "pre-patch"; official Raven or Activision references are non-existant. Ryan's voiceover credit for the Expansion Pack remains unchanged. Xin Jing (talk) 20:34, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- IMDB isn't a reliable source, so that has to go; we already have a reliable source in the article for Buddenhagen's role. Nothing in the article ever stated that the game was ever re-released with Ryan's voice over Buddenhagen's, merely that the patch and expansion would modify the original game to replace Buddenhagen's lines with Ryan's voice—two different things. -- Sabre (talk) 20:43, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarifying the IMDB validity, I was hard-pressed to find a citation to support my claim. The original article content, before I made any changes read:
“ | The only exception to this is the character of Seven of Nine, who was voiced by Joan Buddenhagen in the initial release; however, actress Jeri Ryan retroactively replaced Buddenhagen's voice in the game's expansion pack. | ” |
- 1. This is inaccurate. Buddenhagen's voiceover work was not replaced by the Expansion Pack, it was replaced by the official patch. I corrected that.
- 2. The only way Ryan's voiceover credit on the initial retail version is valid is if the optional official patch is applied. As it stands, the voiceover work for Seven Of Nine in the retail version is credited to Buddenhagen. Period.
- I mentioned that the game was never re-released (to include the patch code) to illustrate that Ryan's voiceover credit should only apply by way of the patch, which wasn't in the article before I changed it. Xin Jing (talk) 20:56, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- Well, actually, Ryan did the voice work for the expansion pack, but Raven decided to release the voice work for free as the 1.2 patch. We've got a reference for that. Matters little in any case, as long as its noted that both expansion pack and patch do the same job in this respect. -- Sabre (talk) 21:00, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
- Shouldn't the whole section "All nine of the core Voyager characters in the sixth season appear, such as Captain Kathryn Janeway and Lieutenant Commander Tuvok, each voiced by the appropriate cast member from the television series.[10] The only exception to this is the character of Seven of Nine, who was voiced by Joan Buddenhagen in the initial release;[10] however, actress Jeri Ryan retroactively replaced Buddenhagen's voice through a later patch and the expansion pack." be in "Reception"? Since it was relating to how we RECIEVED the game when it came out, and our reaction to Jeri's missing voice. -- Tallaussiebloke (talk) 07:51, 5 March 2018 (UTC)
regarding the graphics simplification for the playstaion 2 version
[edit]it clearly didnt need to be done. therefore i changed the text to instead say that it was done. just to make it more honest. it could actally have been improved for the playstation 2 so why they simplified the graphics makes little sense to me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.208.72.121 (talk) 13:09, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
