shouldn't there be more about his life, rather than just a long list of works? Billy Shears 19:31, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

Absolutely--if you have some sourced info to add in, go for it! --Dvyost 20:52, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

Stub tags[edit]

I've taken the liberty of adding {{US-bio-stub}} & {{Theat-stub}} to the article, on the grounds that the actual article is only 1-1/2 paragraphs long, with the rest taken up by a massive bibliography. What's his history? What are his themes? What is his importance to theater and culture (popular or otherwise)? Why should we be reading this article? --Calton | Talk 05:32, 10 November 2005 (UTC)

Users should be careful not to confuse this Tony Kushner with the eminent British historian Professor Tony Kushner, Director of the AHRC Parkes Centre for the study of Jewish/non-Jewish relations at the University of Southampton. I mention this as the Kushner here was attributed as author of Disraeli's Jewishness, which infact was a book edited by Professor Kushner. More information on the professor is available here:

Wrong Tony?[edit]

re: Peter's Pixie, by Donn Kushner, illustrated by Sylvie Daigneault, introduction by Tony Kushner, Tundra Books, 2003 In the introduction, Tony writes that he is Donn's son. Donn was a Canadian university prof and children's author.

Tony Kushner showing Anti-Catholicism[edit]

In the Nation magazine, he called the now deceased Pope John Paul II "a homicidal liar." I put direct links to the nation and the article. To make a statement like that is not only slander but could be grounds for a lawsuit. It is also anti-Catholic. Just because you do not agree with someone's belief on homosexuals, does not mean that you should call them killers. That is a very serious accusation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) 05:48, 29 January 2007 (UTC).

It is NOT "Anti-Catholicism" to make a personal denounciation of a Pontiff. Anti-Catholicism means you are expressing opposition to the existence of the Catholic Church. Ken Burch 09:07, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

"Kushner's ANTI-ZIONISM"?[edit]

In the article, Tony Kushner specifically states that he SUPPORTS the continued existence of Israel. Referring to his "anti-Zionism" is not only POV but blatantly inaccurate. I will edit it myself, since there's no excuse for that term being applied to Kushner's views on the Israel/Palestine issue. Ken Burch 09:09, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

On that note, the "political views" section should either be retitled "views on Israel" or something similar or should be expanded to include his views on other political issues (which shouldn't be hard to find and/or source). --Jfruh (talk) 03:51, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Agreed. I was going to make that same note here. That section is all about Israel. --Gloriamarie (talk) 08:19, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Similar note: User:Soosim deleted the link to CUNY's GC Advocate as 'recentism' (which I've now restored). In fact, that's been the main news source about the situation, especially in providing lists of supporters. Just the usual POV editing (aka being 'economical with the truth'), but it's not helpful. Frankly, I'm getting tired of having to add so many articles to my Watch list just because some 'contributors' are so anxious to shade the facts. Flatterworld (talk) 18:47, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

references editable?[edit]

Why aren't the references editable? I click edit and I just see the word "references" in brackets but no actual references. One of the links doesn't work and I want to delete it. thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elleng (talkcontribs) 22:07, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

You're looking in the wrong place. The citations appear in the section of the article that makes the citation, not the area where we read it at the bottom of the page. I'll have a look and see if I can find the one that you mean and delete it. Don't forget to sign your posts with four ~ on the talk pages. DionysosProteus (talk) 23:34, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
A few of them were dead. I've left the current note #4, because although it is now dead, the citation gives an access date when it was active, so is legitimate. DionysosProteus (talk) 23:40, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Tony Kushner/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

I'd suggest that someone who knows more about Tony Kushner than I do to expand this 'article' from a list to an actual article. --Umalee 01:46, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Relation to other Kushners[edit]

Anyone find any information on whether he is related to Jared Kushner and other Kushner family members in the real estate business? Vivaldi (talk) 02:33, 7 May 2017 (UTC)
