The Whispering Forest is a Big Finish Productions audio drama based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who.

Plot

On the alien world of Purity, the weakest are spirited away by the mysterious Takers.

A green crescent representing the universal symbol for hospitals was established in the 2006 TV story New Earth.
The re-emergence of the Mara at the end leads directly into The Cradle of the Snake.
The Mara asks if the Doctor is leaving because Purity is "too green" for him, referring to a line he had in Kinda.

Paul Shelley previously appeared in the Fifth Doctor TV story Four to Doomsday with Peter Davison, Janet Fielding and Sarah Sutton.
Hayley Atwell was heard in the Eighth Doctor audio story Blood of the Daleks.
Harry Melling is the grandson of Second Doctor actor Patrick Troughton.
Lennox Greaves and Sue Wallace were both previously heard in The Chimes of Midnight.
