Criteria for inclusion
[edit]What's included on the list? For a sovereign state to have it's own entry, it must first be peacefully integrated into the List of sovereign states. The borders for every state include their territories and exclaves (for example, the French-Brazilian border).[2] See the notes for more details. The list depicts de facto borders; no special notice is given for unrecognized states. What may be considered a "de jure" border is usually not included (for example, the Indian-Afghan border). Causeways and bridges are usually not considered land borders. Territorial claims in Antarctica are not included.
