Empty sections[edit]

Please don't add empty sections to articles. Even though congresspeople "will get committee assignments soon", there's no benefit to the reader to have an empty section. We can add the section when they get the assignments etc. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:37, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I wont

Stop adding successors-to-be[edit]

Will you please STOP adding elected successors to the infoboxes of lame duck officials? There was already an RFC on that topic & the result was "don't add". GoodDay (talk) 23:14, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay that's fine 420Prince1012 (talk) 23:14, 30 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry![edit]

Hit the rollback button by mistake, sorry! Thanks for fixing it. CoconutOctopus talk 15:34, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No problem

An article you recently created, United States Attorneys appointed by Joe Biden, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Bold type in articles[edit]

Hi, I noticed you’ve been bolding links to committee assignments. In general, the only text that should be bolded is the first occurrence of the articles name in the lead. There’s more detailed guidance at MOS:BOLD. POLITANVM talk 04:06, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

His and hers[edit]

Thanks for all the great work you've been doing around here! Just as a note, in edit summaries you have been referring to some "hers" as "his," as in here and here. Marquardtika (talk) 14:41, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Header formatting[edit]

Just a friendly reminder that section headers should only have the first letter capitalized in most cases. For instance:

Committee assignments
Caucus memberships
Assumed office

...are all the correct way to format those headers (see MOS:SECTIONCAPS).

Otherwise, thank you for all the hard work you're doing on articles related to the new administration and members of Congress! --Woko Sapien (talk) 21:32, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Section citations[edit]

Hello,

I'm not sure if you were aware, but citations don't belong in headers or section headings of an article per MOS:NOSECTIONLINKS — Please take a look at the provided link to familiarize yourself. Once a nominee is confirmed, there aren't many citations in presidential appointment lists and if there are any, most are transferred to the nominee's page specifically. Thank you for letting me know about my mistakes. I will fix that tendency.420Prince1012 (talk) 12:59, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Important Notice[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Gun law in the United States into Enhanced Background Checks Act. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 12:50, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Legislative history tables[edit]

Hi! I noticed you adding a legislative history table here. Was there any tool/template you used to do it, or did you just copy and paste the format from another article? I ask since I'm interested in getting those tables to start using {{USpolabbr}}. {{u|Sdkb}}talk 18:55, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Try to use edit summaries please![edit]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks! --PerpetuityGrat (talk) 15:52, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

June 2021[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in John Kennedy (Louisiana politician), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please note that as per MOS:HEADINGS, ection headings should follow all the guidance for article titles , and should be presented in sentence case (Funding of UNESCO projects in developing countries), not title case (Funding of UNESCO Projects in Developing Countries). Your alteration by prepending titles has but some headings into mixed title & sentence case. Sentence case only, please. Furthermore, you conversion of pseudo headings to actually heading violates the intent of MOS:BADHEAD. You are making conversions without removing the '''. Please remedy your mistakes & avoid them going forward. Peaceray (talk) 16:11, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
