The future of slurs
[edit]Hi, it seems that your proposal on the discussion on Talk:Pejorative did not result in any changes. While my comment could be taken as critical, I actually agree that it's very unfortunate that Wikipedia does not have more content on slur as a concept. I think I'd suggest to make a subsection on either Pejorative or Insult (which I believe is in line with the other comments), and if the sources make the importance clear and give content to a big subsection, maybe that will one day initiate a discussion leading to a better organization. I'd be open to contribute but it's not at the core of things I usually work with, but I do have a little interesting in swearing and its linguistic properties, but not exactly sources at hand. In any case, I just wanted to show my appreciation of your concerns! --//Replayful (talk | contribs) 16:55, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Replayful: Hey, thanks for the kind words! And after reading the comments, I agree that it doesn't make sense to have pages for Insult, Pejorative, and Slur. I think I'll do some research and contribute a subsection to one of those pages. I am not a slur expert off the top of my head so there could plausibly not be a lot on it but, if there is, we can definitely reassess organization as you suggest. Minor edits
[edit]Hi, I noticed you marked an edit to Montreal as minor, but it wasn't. "Minor edit" refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typos or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not minor, even if it only concerns a single word. Thanks. — W.andrea (talk) 17:10, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry about that. Thanks for the heads up! Aurangzebra (talk) 18:10, 16 May 2024 (UTC)

DYK for Kim Ye-ji (sport shooter)
[edit]On 4 August 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Kim Ye-ji (sport shooter), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Kim Ye-ji's performance in the 10 meter air pistol at the 2024 Summer Olympics led her to be dubbed the "coolest person on the planet"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Kim Ye-ji (sport shooter). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Kim Ye-ji (sport shooter)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for August 14
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited World and Olympic records set at the 2024 Summer Olympics, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Martin Vlach. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre
[edit]Greetings friend, Just wanted to let you know, I saw your recent edits on the Texas Chain Saw Massacre and it looks pretty nice. I have been working on expanding the article in a separate userspace so I can work uninterrupted. So far it has been going well though I have slowed down a little. Eventually I will get around to completing it and transfering it into the userspace but it will be a good long while until that happens. If you are interested in helping or anything feel free to reach out. Happy editing. Paleface Jack (talk) 02:54, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
