Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Darth Vader, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 21:27, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

Blaze Wolf Huh? I was reverting the string of vandalism left by the editor that goes by the username "JesusWins777". They've been leaving a trail of disruptive and nonsensical edits sine yesterday. BlueNoise (talk) 21:29, 29 September 2022 (UTC)

would you like to qualify that ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Deep_sea&oldid=1113181458

it would be useful to review exactly why you reverted the image. JarrahTree 06:23, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

JarrahTree The edit history for the page in question is speckled with both constructive edits, as well as unconstructive edits. The image that was being used was fine, and is also a lot larger than the image that replaced it. All in all the edit seemed like it was a unconstructive edit. BlueNoise (talk) 06:26, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
I can see where you are coming from, I am going to revert your edit, you are most welcome to request an extended reply to qualify why I am doing so - but its up to you, the AGF edit on your part, and the AGF edit on the part of the uploader and your understanding are fine - so you want context, fine, if you want to leave it, fine. JarrahTree 06:30, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
JarrahTree Is there any way to expand the image on the page it's self so I don't need a magnifying glass to see it? BlueNoise (talk) 06:32, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
the issue is being attended to JarrahTree 06:58, 30 September 2022 (UTC)
JarrahTree I seen, and it's looking good! Thank you! BlueNoise (talk) 06:59, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

2022 Atlantic hurricane season

the listing of names in alphabetical order is currently being discussed on the talk page 68.195.238.98 (talk) 07:00, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

68.195.238.98 That's not a reason for you to change the name of an already recorded Atlantic tropical storm. Your edit summary also lended weight to the notion that your edits were unconstructive. BlueNoise (talk) 07:03, 30 September 2022 (UTC)

Consilience

I can see you are a rather new editor. Why have you changed the minor grammatical improvements I made to this entry? 86.137.177.138 (talk) 11:04, 1 October 2022 (UTC) Above by me. I have undone your rather pointless reversion of my grammatical improvement. Talk page, don't RV me. Ironman1104 14:00, 1 October 2022 (UTC)

86.137.177.138 Ironman1104 I reverted the edit because I was concerned that the tone was not encyclopedic in nature. Since it is not of a concern to either of you, I'll stand down regarding this. BlueNoise (talk) 21:54, 1 October 2022 (UTC)

Can you be more specific? Were all my changes reverted or just a specific one? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:2FC0:F:81D9:9D27:E036:57C9 (talk) 18:45, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

Hello. I reverted all of your edits after reviewing each one due to your edits not reflecting an encyclopedic tone. Here is a guide on maintaining an encyclopedic tone, as well as a guide on words to avoid. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me here, or on the help desk where there is always awesome editors standing by waiting to help. BlueNoise (talk) 19:12, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

Help me!

Hello, there. I am unsure if travel sites, such as this[1] would be a good source for related sections and subsections of articles. I'm hoping someone can clarify this for me, and point me in the right direction for a reliable source for local attractions and destinations. Thank you. BlueNoise (talk) 06:37, 3 October 2022 (UTC)

Trip Advisor is not a good source for most things, since they are just a data aggregate site; any substantial or significant information would likely be found in other locations on better sources. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 06:56, 3 October 2022 (UTC)
I'm also looking for suggestions on what sources would be to good to use for this topic. Thank you. BlueNoise (talk) 06:59, 3 October 2022 (UTC)
I think you'll be better off asking elsewhere, given the lack of response. Sorry. My only advice would be to use reputable news outlets such as newspapers or magazines, or websites with a history of editorial oversight and fact checking (in other words, the kind of thing you'd find at WP:RS). Lord & Taylor

Hello, thanks for sharing your concern. I am new to Wikipedia and have a passion for department stores and retail in general. I appreciate your feedback. Dccore45 (talk) 00:47, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Your welcome. Editing other articles that fall under the same topics would also be advisable to avoid any further confusion in the future. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask at the Help Desk, which is staffed by other wonderful contributors. BlueNoise (talk) 00:51, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

@Dccore45: You should also check out the essay on single-purpose accounts. It's an essay to read, rather than a guideline to follow. However, it helps to figure out how to best contribute to the best of your ability to Wikipedia. Hope you have a good rest of your day or night! BlueNoise (talk) 01:21, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Thanks! You as well. Dccore45 (talk) 01:25, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Name conventions

Hello! While browsing recent changes, I came across this edit[2], and am curious if what this contributor is doing is within the bounds of the manual of style guidelines for non-English characters in articles. Thank you. BlueNoise (talk) 16:38, 11 October 2022 (UTC)

Yes, it is within policy. Names and other words that are normally spelled with diacritical marks can be spelled that way in Wikipedia articles. One way to decide if "normally" applies is to check if there is an article title spelled that way, as there is for Duy Tân. In almost all cases, Wikipedia will have a redirect spelled without diacritic markings that points to the actual article with diacritics. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 18:33, 11 October 2022 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi BlueNoise. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 16:49, 13 October 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me why I abandoned my Wikipedia account

I'll admit I gave a humorous edit summary to Template:Diplomacy, but the change of article name/link Queen's Messenger to King's Messenger I reflecting in my edit was not mine. I was eliminating a redirect and having the link in the template reflect the current title of the article. But I neglected to remember that these days Wikipedia is entirely serious without any sense of humor or fun. That's what caused me to abandon being a formal Wikipedian. I refuse to become a dull boy. 2600:1700:3801:8990:401D:1D00:7935:2315 (talk) 03:49, 14 October 2022 (UTC)

2600:1700:3801:8990:401D:1D00:7935:2315 I'm sorry, that was my fault for not double checking your edit before reverting. I'll definitely take what you said into consideration. BlueNoise (talk) 05:02, 14 October 2022 (UTC)

I am very grateful to you.

Thank you for your support in my fight against that very experienced vandal. I really appreciate your reverts: [3], [4], [5], [6]. Of course, the vandal got active again, now as 86.187.165.112. I reported the new IP to WP:BKFIP (see the talk). Cheers :-) 85.193.215.210 (talk) 14:53, 17 October 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/MegaMack02

Just noticed McLaren 600LT tried to Bribe @Khonda8 into moving the draft to mainspace. (Please see [7] for evidence). They also reverted your edit.72.253.6.229 (talk) 03:45, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

Can you consider adding the fact to the SPI? 72.253.6.229 (talk) 03:52, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
It's not really a necessary detail, to be honest. In sockpuppet investigations, the contributor reviewing the case is looking for behaviors that link one account to another account that was already blocked, or is being used outside the rules for having multiple accounts. BlueNoise (talk) 03:55, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
Also noticed @Bugs Meanie doing a bit of trolling as well and using fake signatures on Elcobolla’s talk page where the MegaMack sock changed the name of @Dreamy Jazz from “Jazz” to “JADS” and listing Dreamy Jazz an enemy of Elcobbola.([8])Also added massive move request that is on the rampage ([9]).
If this batch of editing hopefully cheers people up, it has not. Not sure what was on Tropicalkitty’s mind when reverting Bugs’ edits. 72.253.6.229 (talk) 04:02, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
Yep, that’s them. Characteristic edits on es.wiki too. Please add Bugs Meanie to the SPI. Thanks. 72.253.6.229 (talk) 04:07, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
Done. BlueNoise (talk) 06:06, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
I reverted after I came across this discussion. The content from that user appeared to be disruptive. Tropicalkitty (talk) 04:24, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rossville, Illinois, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David White. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:09, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

House of Piccolomini

Hi, I've seen that you removed my edits, in good faith. These edits were simply text already sourced in the Wikipedia pages of the people I added text to. I added this text to give a better understanding of who these people were, as not much was written in the resume next to their names. You can easily verify what I am saying. I will revert it for now, but if you still disagree, maybe we can talk it over, no problem. Have a good day ;) 2607:FA49:1A44:4700:C45C:8E39:66EA:1E40 (talk) 21:13, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

No point getting into a revert war with someone like that. It's like wrestling a pig in the mud, but I'm sure you know that joke. Just leave me be and report them. Drmies (talk) 01:59, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

Drmies I don't mean to be rude, but if it wasn't myself reverting that IP editor it would have been someone else. They were well past their final warning, and their edits were pure disruption which I figured meant my reverting their edits was exempted by 3RRNO. Unless I am mistaken? BlueNoise (Désorienté? Hi BlueNoise! Is Magizoologist to Magical creatures in Harry Potter#Magizoology a double redirect? Had edited it because Magizoology redirects there. Thank you! 201.43.169.36 (talk) 06:02, 30 October 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I’m wondering why you reverted my edit in the Stefano Delle Chiaie page. Your edit summary mentioned “block evasion (CarlostheJackal01)”, which I’m not sure applies to me.
