Tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics
[edit]While any edit on Wikipedia is appreciated, your recent page moves for Tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics may not have been in the best interests. This topic has been debated in the past and is still currently being debated at Talk:Tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's Doubles. Before you go and move a page you should always check has their been a discussion about it somewhere first

Do not make contested moves
[edit]Please do not move "List of countries and dependencies by population." That is a contested move and needs to be discussed on its talk page. Thanks. Fyunck(click) (talk) 05:35, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
- I don't think it's a contested move at all, but since you are trying to defend the confusing title currently in use, I will give my reasons for the move in the talk page. Bobbie73 (talk) 06:58, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Greetings! Per WP:INTDABLINK, please never do this. It causes problems. Cheers! bd2412 T 13:12, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Liaoning Flying Eagles, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page WCBA. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Please stop
[edit]Please stop removing the article "the" from occurences of "the Earth" in variouis articles. See also, for instance, wp:ENGVAR and wp:RETAIN. And see Earth#Name and etymology. Thank you. - DVdm (talk) 14:51, 5 June 2017 (UTC)
- Dear Admin,
- I got a great article to share with you: http://thegreatstory.org/Earthname.html
- I think it's time for all of us to drop the article "the" from "the Earth" to cherish and honour our unique home planet.
- Life is beautiful, so does our home. It would be greatly appreciated if you could use your admin power to do a bulk change from "the Earth" to "Earth".
- Thank you, my friend. :-)

- Hi, I am not an administrator, but I am familiar with some of Wikipedia's guidelines and policies, and I'm pretty sure that this will not work. For instance:
- Please have a look at wp:retain.
- I suggest that you first open a new talk page section at Talk:Earth and propose to remove "the" from all the occurences of "the Earth" in article Earth, and in Wikipedia in general. I'm pretty sure that this has been discussed before, and the regular contributors will point you to the relevant discussions. Good luck. - DVdm (talk) 14:24, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- Note: I have undone your edit to article Earth per our policy about wp:reliable sources. - DVdm (talk) 14:28, 7 June 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Qed237 (talk) 15:46, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
