This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Brian White (H.B. White), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.jonedgar.co.uk/brian%20white.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Speedy deletion of Brian White (H.B. White)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Brian White (H.B. White) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:17, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I notice that you ahve been adding external links to sculptors pages on various biographical articles. As the links don't add anything to the understanding of the subject of the articles themselves this is looking like what on Wikipedia is called link spam. Please could you you be more focussed in your additions - linking from a page about the sculptor in question is fine but anywhere else can really only be justified if it is the definitive representation of the subject of the bio and this can be verified by reliable, secondary sources - I'm thinking say of Warhol's Marilyn, that type of thing. I do believe that you are editing in good faith which is why I have not just slapped a "templated" warning on this page, but, I should warn you that persistent addition of such links may result in your editing privileges being suspended. It is probably also worth pointing out that Wikipedia use "no-follow" links so any links on article do not have any effect on search engine rankings. Kind regards, nancy (talk) 13:21, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Alan Thornhill, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.alanthornhill.co.uk/about1.htm. As a copyright violation, Alan Thornhill appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Alan Thornhill has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Alan Thornhill and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Alan Thornhill with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Alan Thornhill.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you.

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Richard Conlon. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:11, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the above article. I patrolled it and made a quick typo fix. Let me suggest that you offer a clear reason why this person is notable. I am not an expert in the world of art so it isn't clear who she is. You focus on the people with whom she studied but why exactly is she notable? You should probably state it clearly and plainly in the first sentence or two. Has she received some award or recognition? If you visit N you might find some ideas. Be sure and provide strong sourcing for any claims you make. Thanks for your work! JodyB talk 12:41, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Glynn Williams, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.sculpture.org.uk/biography/GlynnWilliams.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) The article Alec Trendall has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. • In 2010, a conference at Painshill brought together elements of the restoration of this eighteenth century Landscape Garden.
I haven't got a clue as to what this sentence means. What are "elements of the restoration" and how were they "brought together"?
Does this mean that at the conference various aspects of the restoration process were presented and discussed? Can you possibly word this a little more fully?
  • Also, is that reference a single reference or two separate references?
  • Thirdly, discussion of the conference is History, not Description. It needs to be moved.

License tagging for File:Compton-triptych-2011-terracotta-sculptor-Jon-Edgar.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Compton-triptych-2011-terracotta-sculptor-Jon-Edgar.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Chichester Cathedral

[edit]

Thanks for your addition. However, as a person who has been around Wikipedia for four years, you ought to know better than to add content and tag it as a "minor" edit.

A "minor" edit is the correction of a typo, the reversal of a vandalism, the removal of an apostrophe from "it's". Adding the name of an artist and two artworks that he created is solid content and needs to have an edit summary that reflects that.

When other editors are examining the edit history, they can opt to exclude "minor edits". In this case, your addition of content simply wouldn't register.

Hello, Cazimir. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Alan Grieve, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Stifle (talk) 22:18, 2 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I imagine my reason for deleting the section was that it is disproportionate to have a whole section on a single representation of a subject among the hundreds that have been made of him over the years. That seems to me to remain correct. In due course I hope to overhaul the article to bring it up to FA status (Davis having been by a mile the musical interpreter who has most enhanced my concert- and opera-going over the past four decades and more) in which case there will be a "legacy" or "memorials" section, where this information could appropriately sit. I make no claim to be any kind of authority or arbiter, though, and if you want to pursue the point, you mustn't hesitate to raise it on the article talk page. Kind regards. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on George Garland (photographer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I know that the page is no longer in danger of deletion, but I just came across https://www.gravelroots.net/20.html and thought you might like some more biographical info. It would also be good to emphasize in the article how Garland documented the changes in landscape, villages, agriculture and people from before and during WWII, and then into the 1970s. It was great to read about the man, see his photographs, and thank you for making sure that he and his slice of history and corner of the world will be remembered.

The Gardens Trust moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, The Gardens Trust, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption.
