Im back

Well I reported the email, blocked any emails from him so they'd be deleted as soon as he sent them, then I let MySpace know about this impostor myspace which he made to parody my MySpace. They did nothing so I reported again. Hopefully they'll figure out he's copying me and insulting me. He put the music as the national anthem of canada and put my ethnicity as Asian and it's just a really bad insult. I had to delete my blog after he insulted me, called my fiancee Gem a cow and asked if I fed her pure lard. I was just sick of him. Luckily I'm back and splitting my time between Wikipedia and The Odyssey Online Wiki Tyler Warren (talk/contribs) 10:34, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Bot 3

Hi Chris G - your bot #3 (the status updater) is running a bit slow. It sometimes doesn't even adjust my status to offline/online. I was on earlier today and it didn't change at all (see the page history). Do you know why? Auroranorth (sign) 05:23, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. And well done on the successful RfA! Auroranorth (sign) 09:23, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi!

My name is Gp75motorsports, and I am trying to get a bot past BRFA. Its name is AntiMalBot, and it prevents other bots from malfunctioning. Seeing as I don't know anything about Perlwikipedia, I need you to come up with a source code for it. Please post it on my talk page. Thanks! --Gp75motorsports 22:17, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

You should post this to WP:BOTREQ. --Coastergeekperson04 02:22, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

You're a sysop!

Hi, Chris G/Archives/2007/November, Congratulations on Becoming a Sysop!

Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, block anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on articles for deletion for more than 5 days (provided there's a consensus), protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.

Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=
PS Please add you name to WP:LA!

Question for you on the IP block

First, thanks for blocking him. It was needed. My question is, is 24-hour the standard block for such a persistent (and blatant) vandal? I'm not complaining, just curious, as I would have liked to have seen a bit longer, to perhaps wane his interest in vandalizing that article. K. Scott Bailey 03:28, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Understood. I'm not certain I understand about the "level 3 warnings" and all that. To me, vandalism is vandalism, and there should be a 2 strikes your out policy. Vandalize once, shame on you. Vandalize twice, you're indef blocked, and banned for life. As an aspiring Wikidragon (only two articles, one major revision, and one stub under my belt to date, with neither of the two I wrote being even close to GA yet), vandals are the bane of my existence. Lately I've been delving a little too deeply into the namespace, and it's been taking time away from what I'm really best at, so I guess I'll leave the "adminning" up to those of you who have the cursed (I don't think I would WANT the damned things!) tools. Thanks again for your help! Regards, K. Scott Bailey 03:43, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

User Zhugs546

Refering to: | This warning

Chris, have a good look at the users history and the page history before blocking this user. He added a line that would pass quality requirements, yet was reverted by the reporter of the "Vandalism". After that, there was a short discussion where the origional editor was not involved. The line was removed again, then added, and then removed again. Zhugs546 didn't receive ANY notice that there was a discussion, so he could not have been aware this was discussed.

Im all for blocking vandals quickly, but this is not vandalism. From my point of view Zhugs546 qualified this as "Back stabbing negotiations" to get a line out and made a rather annoyed personal attack at the person who kept reversing it. However, i don't think this warrants handing an NPA4-im since this is certainly not clear and persistent vandalism, especially considering his clean history. I would rather see this go to mediation, or get discussed again, this time with inclusion of Zhugs546, who added the line after all.
--Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 09:46, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

  • It's the personal attack is worrying me, I thought that was quite offensive and there is no situation that I think any user should say such things to another user no matter what the circumstances, I under stand that there is something going on between these two editor, but I think the user made a bad decision going and doing that and if he does that again I am quite happy to administer a block, however I will also investigate the circumstances which cause that outburst and take other necessary action. --Chris 09:53, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
  • Well, in all due honesty, i don't think this attack was all that serious. The only offending line i saw was "Fuck this and that and you". Don't get me wrong, i don't think the edit was good, but i have seen much, MUCH worse then that when patrolling for vandalism. Have a look at my own user page for an example. I have been called a "self-righteous twiddle", and have been advised to "go away, play with your scripts, follow your logic with your brain in neutral, and stop wasting my time" by an established editor.

I have no doubt that you can handle this correctly, but please do take into account that this is a clean account, which probably made a bad slip. Clear vandals get four warnings before getting blocked, so please be a little lenient on this one. :) --Excirial (Talk,Contribs) 10:06, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

User:Himhifi

You blocked User:Himhifi indefinitely for spamming. Actually, the user doesn't seem to be spammer. S/he has made several edits apart from adding links. The collection of external links added by the user doesn't comprise of spam sites. The user seems to be a little disruptive, though. You might want to consider changing the duration of the block. utcursch | talk 12:02, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello phony..Just dropping by to say hello. You claim to be all bad-ass, and tough. You dont back down, but yet you run and hide everytime I try to speak to you. You report me for virtually nothing. I have never threatened you or anyhting. All I want is you to grow up and be a man. Admit that you are nothing but a friendless child, who goes around threatening people all the time. You are nothing but a phony, a tool, and a child. I am alot smarter than you. Stop being a little boy and just go about your buiness, stop bothering everyone else, and get busy pushing buggys.
A few other quick things
- The "bed" comment was not intended to be gay, just colourful language
- You are a child
- I am alot smarter than you
- You will be a baby and report this email too I'm sure....be a man and respond...and I promise ( I keep promises), I will tell you who we(i) am/are eventually. If you keep closing my communication, you will never figure me out, and I will never tell you

HELP

Hey there Chris G/Archives/2007, Congratulations on becoming an administrator. Obviously, it is unlikely that you will know how to use the tools at first and mistakes are bound to happen, so if you would like to practice using them, with step by step guides to follow, in an environement that you can do no harm in, then why not pop down to the new admin school where we have pages on blocking, deleting and restoring pages, protecting and unprotecting pages and viewing deleted pages. Once again, congratulations and best of luck with the tools. Ryan Postlethwaite 19:10, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

please help me

Hello this is User:Rafff18I am sorry about using an open account at the school library to post, but I am not trying to sock, this is the only way I can communicate on wikipedia now. I have come to you Chris G because you were the first person to respond to the appeal of the indefinite block. It all started on Thursday when I re-added a small paragraph to the Montreal Screwjob page that had been deleted, all the information in it had ether already been discussed on the talk page or was a quote that I had a direct link to. instead of going through proper Wikipedia:Dispute resolution like I wanted User:Secret blocked me for 24 hours despite the fact that Wikipedia:Blocking policy said not to do this for disputes. the next day a friend of mine who added the information in the first place re added it and asked what was wrong. one of the people I had been in an edit war with User:Bmg916 claimed that "source fails WP:V, can you verify this was an actual interview with this actual person" so my friend posted a direct link to the sight with the interview [[1]] and he was still reverted without reason. After that an editor who I have had problems with in the past User:Scorpion0422 told secret that I was socking and he should block me indefinitely and without contacting me or my friend, or doing any research into it he complied. When I got home I discovered I had been blocked indefinitely and secret had made several false claims about me like that he had given me several warnings despite the fact he never talked to me, I was socking despite the fact that I had not been on wikipedia sense he blocked me the day before, and that I have a history of providing useful edits to pages.

When I originally appealed you responded by taking there side and claimed that I had a "history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia" despite the fact that that is not true. However you did give me a chance to get unblocked by making improvements to an existing article. I complied and added information to Playpen (fictional magazine) about shows, episodes, and, I added sources to the article. However another person that I was in the edit war with User:Jeffrey O. Gustafson deleted my work from my user talk page [[2]] and blocked me from accessing it without giving a reason, something tells me this douse not fall under the Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. I did what you asked, so could you please lift the block on both my account and my user page. If you have any more questions for me go ahead and ask and if your answer is no please inform me why. Please unblock me

FYI, the above user has now been indef blocked for vandalism after he resumed his vandalism following my 48 hour block. JodyB Roll, Tide, Roll 12:29, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Just Wondering

I saw that you placed a final warning on Treebranches page, and that you were the last one to delete Fishmatoes. Are you going to block the user? Just wondering. Thanks!-BlueAmethyst .:*:. 04:33, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Oh wait, now I'm confused, did you put the final warning on Treebranches page when I tagged it?-BlueAmethyst .:*:. 04:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

so what's the verdict

Hello Chris it's User:Rafff18 again and I was wondering what you decision was on User:secret block on my account. I have read secret response to you and have posted a counter on his talk page. It seems the only thing I did wrong was get into an edit war and if that was the case then the other people I was fighting should also have been blocked, especially User:Scorpion0422 who contently reverts and erases information from pages using week arguments like WP:NOT#INFO despite it not falling under any of the the criteria there, WP:Trivia despite it specifically saying not to remove trivia sections, and just labeling something as cruft because he ether douse not like it or find it interesting. Also he seems never to have read [[WP:ACM], check out the page Husbands and Knives this Sunday to see him in action.

I am not sure if you are a wrestling fan, and if you are you are probably to young to remember the Montreal Screwjob. it has been a very polarizing issue for wrestling fans and Hart's fans tend to hate anything that paints him less then a saint, notice how there main source of information comes from Bret's personal site (they felt the same way with Chris Benoit before the incident). I will admit that I took Shawn's side after the screwjob and have had similar arguments with hart fans over the last decade, one of them from about two years ago can be seen on the articles talk page when the content I added was originality discussed. However this is the first time I have been blocked indefinitely for merely disputing that Harts actions might have something to do with the WWF letting him out of his contract early.

Finally how do you report that an administrator is abusing there powers, specifically User:secret blocking me for a dispute while refusing to go through WP:DR and User:Jeffrey O. Gustafson for deleting and blocking my talk page. Also do you think my post are to long, because it took me over an hour to write this and i am not sure anyone even readies it if it's that long. thank you and please unblock me.

Hello Chris,

Im having a few difficulties with this user sub page:

Planeless_Snake/Goatse

This page links to a web page where a man stuffs a rubber ball up, O well, guess you know where. Previously the page contained a tabled image, but after complaints the user created this link. I do not know what i should file here, or if anything shpuld be filed at all. It kind of looks like a UW-Link violation, but then again, its on a user sub page, so I do not know if it applies here. Could you have a look at this one please? Thanks in advance. :)
