Sergio Aguero

[edit]

Hi there

Thank you for your recent interest on the Manchester City F.C. page.

I'm just messaging you to let you know that I have undone your edit in regards to Sergio Aguero because according to your source the club has not officially signed him yet. As such, according to WP:V he should not be shown on the team list. The second he oficially signs then please feel free to revert and add him to the squad.

Thanks, Pereirab04 (talk) 03:58, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Melvin Tarley and Pune FC

[edit]

Hello Debarghya89. I would first like to say that I have noticed what you are doing on wikipedia and that you are doing a great job. I just have a question about a recent update to the Pune F.C. squad. You have added Liberian player Melvin Tarley to the squad, and while I do not think you lied about him being on the squad I still went on the Pune FC website which is updated almost daily and they have nothing on Melvin and also I can not find any articles stating he has joined Pune. Also on Melvin wikipedia page it states he still plays for Minnesota (even though he is not on Minnesota's wiki page). For now I will leave that edit there but I might take it off if you don't show me or put on the article evidence that he plays for Pune. Cheers and I hope you continue editing wikipedia. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 04:17, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kalighat MS

[edit]

Hey mate. Thanks for what you said. I am planning on changing the name of that article to Kalighat MS and ravamping it when I have time. Thank you though for bringing that to my attention.

Also I should not be on the Red Bulls U16 page anymore because a new batch of under-16s already came in I am now on the under-18s Bergen Team. So I wont be on anypage. They only put up the squads of the main teams. I play for the regional acadmeies under the Red Bulls.

Also my name is Rohan.--Arsenalkid700 (talk) 14:44, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New Transfer Page

[edit]

Hey mate, here is the new transfer page... I-League transfers for the 2012-13 season. The other one was to hard to maintain so I thought we should start a new one. Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 04:52, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Kanye Vincent

[edit]

Hey mate. Just wanted to say that Vincent should count as Japanese. He has been brought in as the Asian-foreign player for Prayag which obviously means he needs to be Asian. New Zealand is not in Asia but he is Japanese and I believe a Japanese citizen so that is how he passes the Asian requirement. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 12:48, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

True, I will not disagree with you on that as I know that is how it is usually done (Example: If you are born in England but represent Nigeria internationally at youth level then you get a Nigerian flag) but this is a situation where Vincent is being counted as an Asian player yet he is a New Zealander. By technical rules he should not be a player but obvious there is the reason of him and his Japanese ancestry which probably helps him. Also it is best for our readers to understand how he passes the AFC rules. They can just easily click his name and find out there that he is from New Zealand. Cheers.--Arsenalkid700 (talk) 13:57, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nathan Hall

[edit]

Hey mate, hope your doing well. I saw that you added more important information to the Nathan Hall page and that is fine and all and I also believe you but when it comes to wikipedia these things should be reference. Now I know that you used facebook and that is fine, see WP:FACEBOOK for rules on using facebook as a source. If it's Hall's page then it should be 100% fine. Just source the information, I am not asking for much. As for the picture. Please mate, you know the rules. You need to take the picture or get permission and that permission needs to be approved by a wikipedia admin or be properly sourced. Its how it works sadly. Hell I even got approved to use all of the Pune FC pictures on facebook by the admin and head of operations by email and yet I still cant upload pictures. If you have questions about this I can try and redirect you to another user who knows more on this than I do. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:00, 21 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well we could always also use Halls goal.com profile which lists his birthdate currently, [1]. Also about the pictures, if that works then fine. Also Pune FC is not an institution, more of a company (at least according to the official email). Anyway we will see about that. Okay cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 11:34, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Arturo Navarro, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Triplestop (talk) 20:56, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon A tag has been placed on a page you created requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit [[|the page's discussion directly]] to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of recreating the page. Thank you. Happy New Year and Sources/References

[edit]

Hi, first of all, happy new year! Your contribution to Indian football pages on here has been very valuable and I really do hope you continue your work on here. However, second of all, we need to talk about sources/references. Listen, I understand on wikipedia that not everything is sourced or referenced but that does not mean that it's right. We are trying to make the Indian football articles as accurate and sourced as possible for future readers which means we, as editors, should do all we can to make sure that everything is true, unbiased, and sourced. That is why I revert on sight when I dont see a source because we need one, nothing should be added otherwise. Okay. Cheers and happy new years. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:36, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My revisions

[edit]

Hey, just thought I explain me reverting your edits. First of all, the folks at WP:Football have come to an un-official consensus that these position by round tables should not be used as most leagues don't have concrete rounds and also due to postponed matches and stuff. It would just complicate the entire table and leave some misleading info. As for the kit manufactures, well, we need references. I tried to do this last season and this season but there were not enough sources to justify/allow me to add the section, thus I left it off. If you want, you can add it back but I need references. Just make sure you don't add a chairman section like in the Championship season article... that is really not needed. Kit manufactures is fine but needs sources. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 03:36, 14 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kerala Blasters

[edit]

This does not have anything about the team having "FC" in the name. The team is literally just 'Kerala Blasters' until the ISL says so. However there have been reports with FC and apparently a quote from Sachin so I will bring this to the talk page of WP:Football where we can discuss this before making a decision. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 23:46, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Atletico de Kolkata?

[edit]

James Keene

[edit]

What's your source of James Keene joining Northeast united FC? Goalkeepar (talk) 10:55, 5 September 2014 (IST)

Official sources for Indian Super League from now on.

[edit]

Hey, as a regular editor of not just articles pertaining to the Indian Super League but also Indian football as a whole I decided to send you this message. Recently, I have noticed that many sources which, in the past, we called reliable are now a bit off in terms of their reporting. For example, the Times of India reported that Robert Pires and Freddy Ljungberg had signed for both FC Goa and Mumbai City respectively, however, that very same paper, reported that Anelka is in negotiations with Mumbai City. This has lead to days of anons added Pires, Ljungberg, and Anelka as marquee players for these teams on ISL pages, despite the conflicting reports. Meanwhile, Sky Sports, had an article about Peter Reid joining Mumbai City but instead said he signed for Mumbai FC.

This is not the type of reporting I expect to see done and it is because of this that I would like to see us only use official sources. These sources would include the official website of the Indian Super League, the official facebook page (with link), and any of the verified Indian Super League facebook or twitter accounts. So, for example, the Times of India reported that Marco Materazzi had signed as head coach of Chennai but instead of adding Marco like we would with say an TOI article on the I-League we will instead wait till the news is officially verified by the league or team. It is these methods we must use to protect wikipedia's goal in terms of accuracy. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 04:02, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re: 2015 Indian Super League

[edit]

Hey Deb, I am not opposed to adding the section but it needs to be done in a way that looks good. Look at the 2015 J. League Division 1 and 2015 Chinese Super League pages where they can have 6 foreigners max. The foreigners table just about fits the page while a 8 player table would not. Perhaps we could add it but instead of adding the players in a horizontal list, do it in a vertical way. I'll send you the concept of what I am thinking. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:20, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Atlético de Kolkata, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Miguel Martinez. Official sources for ISL foreign players

[edit]

Hey man, thanks for being aware of using official sources or reliable sources when it comes to the foreign players in the Indian Super League man... I really appreciate it. Do though keep an eye on the List of 2015 Indian Super League season roster changes page as these players are usually posted there as well. I have removed the ones from Kerala Blasters as I do not count Manorama Online as a reliable source. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 23:53, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Please help defend SAFF articles for deletion

[edit]

Hi Debarghya89, please help me defend the SAFF sub articles which are currently being considered for deletion. Many of these articles contain information that is useful to football in the SAFF region and Indian football, in my opinion these articles should remain on Wikipedia. You can join the discussion here although of course you should express your opinion, not mine. Thanks. Inter&anthro (talk) 02:13, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Kerala Blasters FC

[edit]

I don't know why you changed the logo of Kerala Blasters FC from Vector Graphics (SVG) to Portable Network Graphics (PNG). As the Wikipedia Manual of Style says that SVG format is smarter then other format, it will be better to keep the SVG format file on the article. Agree. Looking at them myself we need to know if we have permission from Bengaluru FC before hand before using these images or whether they care or not. Invite to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:42, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
