Citation for my edit

Hello RedRiver660,

I saw you took down my update to the 'Hononegah Community High School' wikipedia page because I did not have a trustworthy citation. I have found a trustworthy citation for my update however:

Wifr. “Hononegah Wins Regional on Hart Buzzer-Beater.” Content, 6 Mar. 2020, www.wifr.com/content/sports/Hononegah-wins-regional-on-Hart-buzzer-beater-5685852612.html.

I was wondering if you could please add my update back to the site.

Thank you,

Blake

@Blake Goldman: You can find the edit in the page history and add the citation manually. The fastest way is to use the template cite web.

Rejection at AfC

At the time you rejected the Ruch Polska 2050 article, it looked like this[1]. OK, one independent source isn't ideal, but it's not great to reject an article on an obviously notable topic when you could have done a google search and very quickly found more sources (even in English). This isn't going to encourage more people to contribute articles. (t · c) buidhe 05:11, 6 October 2020 (UTC)

Help with Philippe Fabry draft

Hi Eternal Shadow, I'm new to creating Wikipedia submissions and am unsure as to why my submission was declined. This is a translation of its French equivalent and I have kept true to the original source text (which was approved - https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philippe_Fabry). Can you please provide me with some more direction on how I might be able to fix this? If I change it I will be straying from the original source text. Thank you.Alexandra Thomson (talk) 00:05, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

(TPW) Alexandra Thomson, I'm not sure what the policies on frwiki are, but the main problem the article had was that it read more like a narrative story and not like an encyclopedia entry. It was on a motorcycle that Philippe Fabry undertook his first travels in the 1970s and Philippe Fabry then changed continent and arrived in Asia in 1981, are not consistent with Wikipedia's encyclopedic style. Username6892 (Review my work!) 01:01, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Thank you. I have just reworked it and will continue doing so to adhere to Wikipedias neutral POV. Please feel free to provide me with additional advice on my revised version to let me know if it is suitable or not. Alexandra Thomson (talk) 01:47, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Nreal - re: Not sufficiently Notable

I just reviewed the feedback and wanted to see if I could get a clarification on the reason for the article's rejection. Those familiar with the AR/MR industry, Nreal is considered to be on par with Magic Leap and Hololens. They're also the only one to have launched consumer mixed reality glasses on the market in partnerships with 5G carriers - particularly following Magic Leap's pivot. The founder is also from Magic Leap. But on the mention regarding the criteria of notability Magic Leap had gone out of its way to sue the company, which resulted in independent, albeit unfavorable coverage about Nreal. So wanted to get a better understanding of the reasons behind the decision on notability. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francis Bea (talkcontribs) 04:57, 19 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Eternal Shadow, wanted to loop back around to try to get some feedback on the rejection of this article. Would love to hear your thoughts on this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francis Bea (talkcontribs) 06:50, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

Help with Draft Approval

Hi Eternal Shadow. Approval of Translation of existing Wikipedia Page

Hello Eternal Shadow,

I am new on Wikipedia (at least in editing and commenting) and I am turning to you because it seems you are entitled to give your okay to the publishing of this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Stieglbrauerei_zu_Salzburg [en.wikipedia.org]

On July 31, you denied publishing of this entry. Wikipedia says in its dialogue that it would not be supported by "trustworthy sources". Thing is that this entry is just the translation of this existing published wikipedia page: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stieglbrauerei_zu_Salzburg [de.wikipedia.org] - it is just the original in german language.

Stiegl, a widely popular brewery in Austria, is the author of both pages which deal with their company itself. So they are fully authorized to write about themselves and the most direct source to do so. Here is their website, english version: https://www.stiegl.at/en

I am working for Stiegl's media agency and kindly ask you to accept their entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Stieglbrauerei_zu_Salzburg [en.wikipedia.org]

Kind regards, Roman — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roman Vienna (talkcontribs) 12:20, 9 November 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I saw you reviewed the page I created. It is the third time the page gets reviewed, since the first review I added a significant amount of new information, including several third party neutral references. It is a very important organization in the Italian Jewish scene and the info I provided are pretty complete, covering all the sectors in which this association works. The previous reviews never mentioned any kind of "promotional wording", which I frankly do not see, therefore I kindly ask you to finally accept this draft.

Help needed for fixing the page Draft:Nreal

Hi Eternal, the page Draft:Nreal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Nreal) was declined as a result of insufficient notability, I hope you could provide further information on what contents are needed and also how we can fix the issue. Hope to get some advices from you on how to make it published with the right information needed. Thank you. Avishung (talk) 06:04, 11 November 2020 (UTC)

New Page Patrol December Newsletter

Hello Eternal Shadow,

A chart of the 2020 New Page Patrol Queue

Year in review

It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.

Reviewer of the Year

John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.

NPP Technical Achievement Award

As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

The Page I Created

Hi Eternal Shadow, I saw you reviewed the page I created. It is the second time the page gets reviewed. After the first review I added a great number of new reliable outside neutral sources. The professor is very highly revered in the Druze community and the information I provided is all backed up by proper outside references. It seems that since the references are mainly in languages you are not necessarily familiar with, you tended to believe that they are not outside reliable sources. The previous reviewer only asked to add more references and so I did. I would appreciate it if you accept this draft since it is important for the Druze community to acknowledge their highly revered scholars and pioneering women. Thank you for your time. Hi there. There is a draft (Party of Communists USA) that you once declined for official publication while ago. So I saw there were some problems with it and I attempted to edit some of its content. That is why I decided to contact with you and ask you if you're aware of these slight changes and whether they're enough to be considered ok for publishing. Making Submission Acceptable

Hello Eternal Shadow.

You recently denied submission of: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Exploring_Wine_Regions

Editor's summary: Declining submission: nn - Submission is about a topic not yet shown to meet general notability guidelines (be more specific if possible) (AFCH 0.9.1)

Based on Wikipedia:Notability (books), this article meets these notability guidelines for both numbers 1 and 2 of the guidelines. On #1, the books have been the subject of 43 non-trivial published works appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself. On #2, the books have won five major literary awards.

Based on meeting, and exceeding, the notability standards, I am confused by your declining submission?

You further stated to be more specific if possible. What specifics are you looking for to make this submission acceptable?

Reailable Source

Just need help to define what is the criteria of a reliable source. As my contribution has been denied with the justification of reliable source. I have tried my best to gather all information possible in the English Language when the subject has many articles in the Nepali language as well. But in the English Language, it is very difficult to locate. So I think it is unfair to label unreliable sources when the existing source is the credible source in Nepal. Please help with how to define it. The subject is a highly respected businessman of Nepal with a great contribution to developing industrial and financial services in Nepal. In fact, his family members introduced Coca Cola in Nepal, Carlsberg in Nepal (even in India as his brother CP Khetan is 33% shareholder of Carlsberg India), introduced banking in Nepal as they are promotor of Nepal Bank (first private sector bank of Nepal), Himalayan Bank and Laxmi Bank. Thus just want to get your suggestion on how to proceed. Thank you for your intervention and looking forward receiving your support.

@Manishthapa1981:Reliable Sources are sources that are neutral and verifyable. WP:RSP may help. A major problem is that some of the sources used are promotional and unreliable. At times the article is written like a resume, which violates WP:NPOV. After rereading the article it appears he is notable but the sourcing needs improvement. Eternal Shadow Talk 22:52, 29 April 2021 (UTC)

Enlabs AB draft declined

Hello Eternal Shadow,

First of all, thank you for reviewing Draft:Enlabs_AB.

I was just curious if you took into consideration that the company is publicly traded? I know that doesn't make the company automatically notable according to WP:LISTED, but just wondered if it has been taken into account?
A quote from WP:LISTED "There has been considerable discussion over time whether publicly traded corporations, or at least publicly traded corporations listed on major stock exchanges such as the NYSE and other comparable international stock exchanges, are inherently notable"
According to Wikipedia's list of major stock exchanges, Nasdaq Nordic ranks 15th on the list. So I guess it is a major stock exchange?

Taking that into consideration, and on top of that there are references that are independent as far as I understand, for example reference 1 (Stockopedia), reference 2 (Yahoo News) and reference 9 (Reuters). I guess references about acquisitions and sponsorship agreements are more promotional indeed but I can clean those up.

Would really appreciate to get some feedback on this. Thanks Randomhero77 (talk) 14:28, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

Hello Eternal Shadow.

You recently denied submission of: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Kimia_Sharbafian

This article is a biography of musician Kimia Sharbafian and her performance history in Iran as an oboe Player.

Hello, I don't understand why you declined my submission for AFC at Draft:1979 Portland State Vikings football team. If you compare it to other single-season Portland State articles, all but the 2020 season (4 refs) have less references than my submission. Also, in Category:Stub-Class college football articles, there are thousands of short season articles that have 0-3 references. And while WP:NSEASONS says it should consist of "well-sourced prose", there are at least 7,500 college football season articles that fail this with 1-7 sentences, a schedule, and possibly some players for the team. Is the reason you declined it because of not enough references, or because it's a stub? Thanks. BeanieFan11 (talk) 17:58, 21 June 2021 (UTC)

Question about declined post

Hi, You declined my submission (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Jeff_Burger) but I'm not sure I understand why. The comment says it is not written in a "formal tone" and should avoid "peacock terms." Can you please give me examples of sentences that need to be revised or deleted? The only lines I see that could be seen as "promoting the subject" are in quoted material from independent published sources but I could delete those if that's the problem. Many thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Tagging CSD G13 stale drafts

Hello, Eternal Shadow,

Thanks for your help with speedy deletion tagging. There is one thing to keep in mind though if you want to tag stale drafts for CSD G13. They are eligible for deletion 6 months after the last human edit to the page and we are pretty strict about not tagging and deleting them too early, just as a way to keep everyone following the same rules. But Wikipedia runs on UTC time, not U.S. time. I believe you are on the U.S. West Coast and you have probably set up your Preferences to show the local time. If you are looking at the edit history of an article from December 27, 2020, it would be eligible at 2 pm Pacific Time (June) if the last edit was at 1 pm Pacific Time (December) or earlier. That's because we are in Daylight Savings Time now and in December 2020 we were in Standard Time. So, there is a one hour time difference between the time now and the time six months ago in the edit history. And this whole thing gets reversed when we change time again in the fall and there is an hour difference in the other direction. There isn't much of the year where the time period of six months ago is the same as the time period in the present.

I've found it helpful to have a UTC clock in the upper right hand side of my screen (I'm on a laptop) but I don't remember how I set this up...they could probably tell you at the Teahouse. And I go by SDZeroBot's G13's lists which shows the expiring time of drafts in UTC time so it's easier to avoid mistakes.

And, just to let you know, this is a mistake most U.S. editors make when looking at drafts from months and months ago. When one is in the U.S., it's sometimes hard to remember that Wikipedia time is different from our own local time. Thank you and let me know if you have any questions. Liz Read! P.S. One way to tell if you've tagged a G13 draft too early is that the deletion tag is pink. Somehow, the system knows! Liz Read! Talk! 21:40, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks. Makes sense how the time change works. I’ll make sure to try the new method when doing G13 drafts in the future. Eternal Shadow Talk 00:44, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
Regarding Draft:NADDPOD, as I said, if you are in the U.S. where there is Daylight Savings time, add an hour to the last human edit and that's when the draft can be deleted. So, if you are on the U.S. West Coast, and the last human edit on the draft says it happened at 5 pm, December 29, 2020, you can tag it at 6 pm, June 29, 2021. This will be the situation until fall 2021. Thanks. Liz Read! Talk! 01:03, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
How early did I tag it? Was I a few minutes too early (as it appears on my end) or did I tag way too early? I feel like I am improving my timing but still tag early at times. Eternal Shadow Talk 02:21, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
Draft:ANSONBEAN appears as exactly 6 months on my end; tagged it and I wonder how it appears on your end. Eternal Shadow Talk 02:23, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Request on 07:25:11, 5 July 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Excellenc1

My article is a translation of the Spanish article by the same name (The Good Burger) and the citations I have used are mostly from that article. So is that the article is notable in Spanish but not in English (because the policies differ) or maybe you would like to compare both and approve my draft? Thank you! Excellenc1 (talk) 07:25, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

Excellenc1, I don’t think the Spanish article has much to do with the English one, but the references don’t indicate meeting the notability guideline on corporations. Perhaps more secondary coverage may lead to the submission eventually being accepted. Eternal Shadow Talk 21:12, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

Re: Articles for creation: Teddy Goitom

Dear User Eternal Shadow,

Thank you very much for looking at the draft Teddy Goitom I've created and giving me useful feedback on how to improve it. I am very grateful that you noticed that there have been some tone improvements and pointed me in the right direction on how to further improve it. I have re-edited the article to my best knowledge and re-submitted it.

Thank you and kind regards,

YNovakovic (talk) 12:33, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

YNovakovic, the tone seems much better although I will let someone else re-review your submission. Eternal Shadow Talk 20:58, 10 July 2021 (UTC)

about my article

Dear User Eternal Shadow, this article is about a famous Ukrainian model who has been working in the USA for a long time. I'm not a vandalist, I write about public, famous people.

User:T.Yusherova, the subject appears to fail WP:NPERSON with the current references. Most of the sources are not independent and reliable. Please add more sources, and the chances of your submission being accepted will go up. The tone is not a huge issue, though it leans toward WP:Peacock terms at times. Aled ap Steffan

Hi,

Thank you for taking time to check through this article. I am a little confused to why it cant be approved? Other articles on Wikipedia have way less references than the British Actor 'Aled ap Steffan' and yet his article isn't approved. Can you please explain why. Very best wishes, Patrick

Notice

The article Revista de Derecho de la Universidad Nacional del Altiplano de Puno has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases, no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
