Diana J. Ohman moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Diana J. Ohman, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Dealing with vandalism

Hello, thanks for dealing with vandalism. However, at Freak the Mighty and Max the Mighty, you only undid one vandalism edit while the vandal made two. Please use the procedure described at Help:Reverting to revert vandalism ... or I'd highly recommend using Twinkle, which automates both reverting vandalism and giving out warnings. I am curious why you aren't reverting vandalism properly but you already know about user warning templates ... have you edited another wiki before, or something? Anyway, happy editing! Graham87 14:54, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

And re: List of programs broadcast by PBS: see my edit summarythere. Graham87 15:01, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
Most of the time, I undo single edit vandalism by patrolling my watchlist, but I am still learning about double edit vandalism. Also, to answer your question, I found the warning templates a few days ago and I figured out what they were used for and have been using them since then. I admit, I am still somewhat new to Wikipedia, having only been here for ~7 weeks so I’m glad this community is so helpful. RedRiver660 (talk) 15:14, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
Cool, I notice you've installed Twinkle. You'll probably see a flurry of edits from me on your watchlist now. When reverting vandalism, it can also be a good idea to check the contributions of users, to see if they've made any other vandal edits. One more thing: when replying to messages on talk pages, add one more colon than was present in the previous message to indent it properly; see the help section about indentation; the section about notifications might be helpful for you as well. Harvey Films

Excuese me, but I would like talk about Harvey Films. These, which I had removed, haven't been confirmed by creators because there's no proof about this. I'm sorry for this, but I searched everywhere, but there's no proof about these series, because they're a fanon. Thank you and one more time I'm sorry. EddyBonez (talk) 09:44, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Ok. Just, next time, use an edit summary, so users know what you are editing. RedRiver660 (talk) 20:21, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

AfC

Please do not review draft submissions unless you meet the requirements. Declines like "lack of context" should only be used if you cannot figure out the subject of the article. For example, if the entirety of the text was "Jared owns a couch" - that's a lack of context. ...is an American professional tennis player, actor, model, celebrity tennis coach, and reality TV star gives me the name, the nationality, and their profession. Primefac (talk) 21:32, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

My apologies. Due to the draft not having much content and being generally vague, I (carelessly) automatically tagged it as decline even though I didn’t read parts of the draft. I will pay more attention to the content before declining in the future. RedRiver660 (talk) 21:39, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

There are several inaccurate items on the page I edited. Please don't revert to the previous text. It is not correct. Thank you. I will publish the changes again so the page is accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ohio Republican (talkcontribs) 14:39, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

Federalist No. 8

Please read the "Publication" section which you reinstated. It's very opinionated and does not belong on Wikipedia. The article is better off without it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gkim49 (talkcontribs) 03:51, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

If you are to remove that section, please replace it with more content. Don’t just leave the article without much content. Also, next time, remember to use an edit summary to explain your changes. RedRiver660 (talk) 03:58, 22 May

Yane Sandanski

Hi User:RedRiver660, please read the section Legacy of the article. A lot of cited secondary and tertiary academic sources explain this controversial issue much better. Thanks. Jingiby (talk) 20:55, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Jingiby, I was going through the recent changes and the edit summary used by Алиса Селезньова was a red flag for an edit war, which I tried to stop. After reading the particular section of the article, I understand the controversial issue much better. Thanks. RedRiver660 (talk) 21:02, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Wtmitchell. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Wildfire—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 14:29, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

I was reverting an unexplained removal of content by an IP editor. Also, the IP blanked most of the section so reverting to that change will leave a mostly blank section. RedRiver660 (talk) 14:38, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

I see that I did that from WP:Huggle. I'm guessing that it was an unrecognized edit conflict with you and I trying to revert the edit you ended up reverting and I ended up unreverting. I've undone my unrevert. Thanks for catching this. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 15:57, 2 June 2020 (UTC)

Traefik

Hello! You approved my AfC on Traefik, which was tagged for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Traefik, and was actually deleted with a single DELETE vote, however, I disputed this with the admin and they opened the discussion again. I've included the rationale behind KEEP in the AfD, and would appreciate your feedback as well. — Kcmastrpc (talk) 15:00, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

@Kcmastrpc: I honestly am suprised that someone tried to AfD Traefik so soon, especially considering that it met notability guidelines (I wouldn’t have accepted it otherwise.) However, I do have some suggestions to improve the article.
  • 1; try to use less self published sources if you can - (AfD participants usually vote delete if you use to many self published sources - even if the subject is notable - this also applies for external links.)
  • 2; perform minor cleanup (mainly adding categories, cleaning up citations, creating a talk page, adding to a WikiProject, etc.) RedRiver660 (talk) 17:02, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

You have reverted my attempt to clean up vandalism. Please reverse your screw up

Hi,

I just went to the effort to clean up vandalism on the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levi_Roots

Someone had edited "conspiracy to supply Class A Drugs" to "conspiracy to supply marshmallows".

Do you think Levi Roots particapted in an activity to "conspiracy to supply marshmallows"?

Please revert your edit, which peversely represents an act of vandalism !

@82.8.168.193: Apologies. I was patrolling for vandalism and I must have mistaken you for the vandal. RedRiver660 (talk) 19:00, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

Invitation to RedWarn

Hello, RedRiver660! I noticed you have been using Twinkle and was wondering if you'd like to beta test my new tool, RedWarn, specifically designed to improve your editing experience.

  • Easy to use - Unlike other tools, RedWarn uses easy to interpret icons and simple summaries for common actions, reducing both learning and reading times.
  • Supports rollback and rollback-like functionality - Unlike Twinkle, RedWarn supports both rollback and rollback-like functionality for users will rollback permissions. This decreases waiting times during rollbacks.
  • Making life easier on the battlefield - Ever been in the middle of a vandalism war or campaign, frantically reloading the history page to see a new edit? No more! Enabling RedWarn's "Alert on Change" feature will automatically send you to the latest edit when a new edit occurs - and if you're working on something else, RedWarn will send you a notification while the tab is still open in the background. No time wasted.
  • Rollback previews - If you're ever worried about the changes a rollback will make, especially in the case of reverting good faith edits, you can click the rollback preview button to preview the difference a rollback will make, with the version that will be restored on the right, and the latest revision on the left.
  • Always the latest revision - RedWarn will automatically redirect you to the latest revision if the rollback is no longer for the latest revision - no more frustrating errors.
  • Fast - RedWarn can automatically select a warning level, and, on vandalism and content removal rollbacks, automatically select a warning template.
  • Built on your feedback - RedWarn is receiving frequent feature additions and changes based on your feedback. If there's something you don't like, or would like to see, just say!
  • and many more features ...but I don't want to fill your userpage.

RedWarn is currently in use by over 35 other Wikipedians, and feedback so far has been extremely positive. If you're interested, please see see the RedWarn tool page for more information on RedWarn's features which I haven't listed here. Otherwise, feel free to remove this message from your page. If you have any further questions, please ping me or leave a message on my talk page. Your feedback is much appreciated! Ed6767 talk! 00:35, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

@Ed6767: I'm intrested in using RedWarn. I like what I have seen so far, especially the reverting method. I am going to test RedWarn on my sandbox. RedRiver660 (talk) 00:49, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
RedRiver660, great! Please keep me updated on how it goes for you. Ed6767 talk! 00:54, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
RedRiver660, hi, just following up. It looks like you're using RedWarn to rollback, then using Twinkle to warn. RedWarn does have warning support, and a dialog for this should automatically show following a rollback (titled "New Notice"). Are you not using this feature for a particular reason, and if so, would you be willing to give some feedback? Ed6767 talk! 01:56, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
Ed6767 Most of my edits are on mobile and for some reason the warnings don’t work very well on mobile. The rollback is quite fast on mobile though, much more so than Twinkle. I have had no issues on PC though. RedRiver660 talk 14:43, 16 June 2020 (UTC)
RedRiver660, we're considering making a RedWarn app soon, so hopefully, these issues are mitigated. Thanks for the feedback! Ed6767 talk! 14:46, 16 June 2020 (UTC)

Taras Bulba Borovets page

Hello.Recently you made a revert of my edits on the Taras Bulba-Borovets page. I was undoing edits of a sock puppet of Nicoljaus, a disruptive editor who has been blocked from editing four times on the English Wiki and has been blocked indefinitely from the Russian language Wiki. I can assure you that I was not taking part in vandalism and if I could restore the proper version of the page I would appreciate it. Thanks. 174.251.65.117 (talk) 19:21, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Please fix these issues before restoring the content. RedRiver660 talk 19:46, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello. I recently made an edit to the Taras Bulba-Borovets page and added a sourced sentence without deleting any sourced material. However,93.157.203.231 who is obviously a sock puppet of Nicoljaus deleted it without giving a valid explanation as to why. I do not want to start an edit war with this disruptive user so if you or another user could help mediate this dispute I would greatly appreciate it. Do note that sockpuppetry is punishable by a indefinite block. Also note that sock puppets are extremely hard to mediate with and if the problem is really bad, just take this to the admins noticeboard. RedRiver660 talk 15:01, 19 June 2020 (UTC)

Hello, this is a very, very long story of sockpuppetry. See the part of it: I think this is an IP-sock of Themanhascome, who is the sock of UkrainianSavior who is the sock of Umertan [2].--Nicoljaus (talk) 07:27, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

I am unfamiliar with any of the accounts Nicoljaus is accusing me of using, as I am new to Wikipedia. Hi there - any reason why you have accepted this AFC when the person is clearly non-notable? Off to PROD we go. It's also inferior to mt pre-exsting draft at User:GiantSnowman/Peter Kioso. GiantSnowman 11:36, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

GiantSnowman It was arguably a close call on both WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTBALL. I personally thought it was decently notable but I can understand the PROD, considering that your draft was better. Eternal Shadow Talk 18:45, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Eternal Shadow I seem to be getting a lot of articles deleted recently even thought I've taken the trouble to put Public Domain This article incorporates text from this source, which is in the public domain. tags after the PUBLIC DOMAIN sources which are clearly listed at the foot of the articles. It is perfectly fine to copy whole paragraphs verbatim from such documents. There is NO Copyvio here.Ehdeejay (talk) 15:50, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Ehdeejay I’m not confident about that draft being copyvio safe so I’m going to re check it. Eternal Shadow Talk 15:54, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for that. There's a fair bit of Close Copying but anything cut and pasted was from the 19th century or earlier and is properly noticed in the Sources section. I don't think the automatic tools are as good as a human being in picking up sources which are public domain.Ehdeejay (talk) 16:35, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
No problem. AfC is a mess sometimes and the occasional false positive copyvio happens (mainly due to Special:NewPagesFeed glitching out.) Eternal Shadow Talk 16:38, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Request on 16:47:23, 16 July 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Kcmastrpc

I'm confused, are you offering to edit the draft? If not, why not leave it up for AfC for additional feedback / edits? — Kcmastrpc (talk) 16:47, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

Kcmastrpc (talk) 16:47, 16 July 2020 (UTC) Kcmastrpc, no, I was just suggesting how to improve the draft, and I also was commenting that I had previously accepted it (when I was new; under a previous username of RedRiver660.) You can improve it by adding secondary sources that are more reliable then most of the previous sources that led to the AfD. Eternal Shadow Talk 16:52, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

The entire article was written based on content available from secondary sources (news articles by infoq, books published by o'reilly, and books published by packt). Similar sources are used prolifically in other technology related pages as well InfoQ Packt O'Reilly The article references no original content at all, other than a license file. I'm not sure what the next steps are, but there are other open-source projects in the wiki space which are significantly less notable than Traefik, so I'm confused as to what would qualify as a notable source - given I've shared books and news articles that seem to be ok for other projects. — Kcmastrpc (talk) 17:16, 16 July 2020 (UTC)
Kcmastrpc, notability is another issue, which seems to not be proven based on the sources. In addition, you still need to address the concerns from the previous AfD, it looks mostly less promotional, but I’m going to recommend taking this to the help desk (they can help you improve it to address concerns about this draft.) New page reviewer granted

Hi Eternal Shadow. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. Barkeep49 (talk) 16:39, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Federal Republic of Yugoslavia appears to be a former name of the country when the government was different therefore is notable enough to have a separate article similar to how we have an article on Zaire even though the country is now Democratic Republic of the Congo. However, this editor appears to be here for political purposes and appears to be a believer of New World Order. He has added false information to Spanish flu claiming it came from allied armies [3] and added China Virus[4] to the COVID-19 pandemic. David Deitch submission

Eternal Shadow,

Thank you for reviewing my David Deitch submission. I have made changes based on your review and published them, but have not yet resubmitted. I was hoping you could talk a look at the new draft and give me feedback on whether it now is acceptable before I move ahead. Thanks very much.

Pandemic Pods

I've reverted your rejection of the draft. there exist abundant citations, including yesterdays NYT. At most, if there were insufficient refs presently in the article, it should have been declined, not rejected. DGG ( talk ) 22:19, 3 August 2020 (UTC) DGG ( talk ) 22:25, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) I have also noticed that you've been rejecting some drafts that should probably have been declined instead. For instance, you rejected [5] and then accepted it after sources were added. Rejection should only be used for drafts that are completely hopeless, either because they have been resubmitted several times without addressing the issues raised by reviewers, or because they are about something that is obviously not remotely notable at all, e.g. some guy's youtube channel with 100 followers or an autobiography referenced only to Instagram and Facebook. Hope this helps, Spicy (talk) 22:32, 3 August 2020 (UTC)
@Spicy and DGG: I will be extra cautious during the following weeks, performing less rejections. As for the other draft, I honestly should have declined instead of rejecting, as the article was a bit iffy at the time [6] and would have fallen under v - Submission is improperly sourced. Eternal Shadow Talk 02:42, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
Similarly, Charles Egbu was a reject that should have been an accept. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 08:56, 4 August 2020 (UTC)

Shift4 Draft Article

Hi, It seems Wikipedia:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation/Help_desk#00:03:26,_29_July_2020_review_of_submission_by_Paul.jonah.paul about Draft:Shift4_Payments was archived before a decision was made. You said "possibly." Should we bring other editors into the discussion? Set up an RfC? Bring this out of the archive? I realize a "rejection" is usually final, but the prominence and sourcing for this subject has changed so much in the 16 months since the rejection, this is really an exception. The rejection was before this company became NYSE-listed. This is a huge development. NYSE is probably the most important stock exchange in the world. This guarantees that every single quarter, from now on, this subject will have extensive independent analyst and editorial coverage, as recognized by WP: LISTED. I'm sorry I submitted it prematurely 16 months ago - since I personally didn't know much about Wikipedia at the time - but the encyclopedia readers shouldn’t be punished because I was new. I have also pinged you on the archived discussion, but am posting here too because I don't know if pings work in archives. Paul.jonah.paul (talk) 23:46, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
Paul.jonah.paul, I think you should probably take this to the AFC talk page because this is a odd situation that might take multiple reviewers to decide. Eternal Shadow Talk 16:12, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Help on a declined article

I need some help as to why you declined my article. You stated that "This submission is not adequately supported by reliable sources" but I don't get what you mean by this, all sources used are credible and reliable. Please could you clear this up for me and let me know how to get this page published. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by DanielCoen123 (talkcontribs) 13:04, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

DanielCoen123, these sources were not spread throughout the article and several sections were written like a list. Eternal Shadow Talk 15:06, 14 August 2020 (UTC)
DanielCoen123, as an additional note keep in mind many of the sources were of magazines that are generally unreliable. Eternal Shadow Talk 15:08, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

New page reviewer granted

In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. signed, Rosguill talk 22:03, 14 August 2020 (UTC)

Moderating the Wikipedia page about Banuba

Alexei Kovalwc (talk) 13:15, 20 August 2020 (UTC)

Dear Eternal Shadow.

My name is Alexei Kovalev. About a month ago, I've submitted a draft version of our future company page for your consideration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Banuba

The corresponding page content was edited on 14th of July, when I've edited the Technology section after reading your comments.

Can you please provide me with some approximate dates when we can receive feedback about the current version of this article?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

With best regards,

Alexei Kovalev.

Jordanonfilm, It seems notable is not shown either, pls add better sources; i.e. WP:RS. Eternal Shadow Talk 22:36, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

EternalShadow I apologize, I do not follow what you mean by "It seems notable is not shown either". Could you expand on that? Jordanonfilm (talk) 23:41, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Jordanonfilm, most of the sources are unreliable and quite a few are blogs. This does not indicate being notable. Please read WP:GNG and WP:RS. Eternal Shadow Talk 23:44, 24 August 2020 (UTC)

Citing facebook.

Hey!

Quick thought. I got a comment on a page i'm editing about a band. The article mentions their first documentet concert, with a footnote to a facebook event for the concert. Is this an improper use of facebook citation? It's a tricky question I guess. Citing facebook is sketchy, but would footnoting this citation with some additional comment help? Or are wiki editors categorically against facebook citations?

Article in question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Mama_Sonic — Preceding unsigned comment added by JonathanBrott (talkcontribs) 17:48, 26 August 2020 (UTC) JonathanBrott, if you look at WP:RSP, Facebook is considered "generally unreliable because it is a self-published source with no editorial oversight. In the 2020 RfC, there was consensus to add an edit filter to warn users who attempt to cite Facebook as a source, and no consensus on whether Facebook citations should be automatically reverted with XLinkBot." If Facebook is the best source you can find, the subject is likely not notable. I reccomend you look at both WP:RSP and WP:RS, as they may help you with reliable sourcing.

I understand, thanks for the quick reply. The topic I am covering is a band, but the instance where i cite the facebook event refers to their early days. Their more recent concerts tend to be listed on official sites, but the first concert they ever held was understandably only listed on facebook. But I get it, perhaps i'm better off not mentioning it then! Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.244.18.3 (talk) 08:59, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Which changes need to be made to accept an article?

Hi,

you've reviewed an article I wrote, thx for that! It concerns https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Royal_IHC Now you mention that there's still not 'significant' coverage in the article. When is there significant coverage? Kind regards,

Bas

Bassie01 (talk) 14:12, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Bassie01, for one, there is no lead section. This is an easy fix, just read WP:MOSLEAD. For two, many important statements are unsourced. This usually indicates not being notable. Of course, you should be able to find sources, and it will likely pass. Eternal Shadow Talk 20:51, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
"Significant coverage" addresses the topic directly and in detail, so that no original research is needed to extract the content. Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material. as per WP:SIGCOV. I also suggest you find sources other than company financial reports. Eternal Shadow Talk 20:54, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

I have been writing some reviews on a user subpage (to get more experience before applying for reviewing permissions) and wrote that said draft has 3 sources (2,5,6) that counted for GNG (though 1 may have been primary). Is there something I missed in those sources? Username6892 23:22, 10 September 2020 (UTC)

Username6892, at best that would be a marginal pass. It could likely eventually pass, but there is also the issue of WP:NCOMPANY to consider. Eternal Shadow Talk 23:36, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
