File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Robert Hart (Author).jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Robert Hart (Author).jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.
If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Vladlen Manilov ✉ / 09:04, 10 May 2022 (UTC)

Matthew Keong moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Matthew Keong, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Alert
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}}
on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Speedy deletion nomination of User:Matthew Keong Draft
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Matthew Keong Draft requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]A page you created has been nominated for deletion as an attack page, according to section G10 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
Do not create pages that attack, threaten, or disparage their subject or any other entity. Attack pages and files are not tolerated by Wikipedia, and users who create or add such material may be blocked from editing. Theroadislong (talk) 10:18, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
Only warning: Violations of the policy on biographies of living persons
[edit]Hi, FedFoxEx. In response to the above "G10" tagging of the Matthew Keong article, I've removed all references to criminal charges against Keong. Please understand that Wikipedia takes biographical content regarding living people very seriously. Under a provision called WP:BLPCRIME, we generally do not mention pending criminal charges against low-profile individuals like Keong. It troubles me that even after receiving your above warnings about biographies of living persons, you were adding more such negative material at Special:PageHistory/Draft:Matthew Keong and even reverting Slywriter when they removed the content citing WP:BLPCRIME, and that you then published a version of the draft as the article Matthew Keong, still in violation of WP:BLPCRIME.
You were made aware above of the "discretionary sanctions" in place for biographical content regarding living people. As an administrator, I am empowered to ban you from the topic of Matthew Keong if I feel that is the encyclopedia's best interests. However, I appreciate that you have made efforts to comply with BLPCRIME, so I'm going to hold off on that for now. Instead, though, you can consider this your only warning. To be clear, if you restore the allegations against Keong without a consensus in favor of doing so at Talk:Matthew Keong or the biographies of living persons noticeboard, I will have to take administrative action. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 10:43, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hello, I apologise for that; I will not restore it. I only have tried to be informative, not attack, so please don’t accuse me of that. However, how come it is being considered for deletion now that it’s removed? I just don’t get it. FedFoxEx (talk) 12:18, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
- There are two distinct concerns here: whether the allegations should be included in the article, and whether the article should exist at all. My removal of the content in question, based on WP:BLPCRIME, is independent of the concerns Praxidicae raised about the article, which are based on notability and a different provision of the biographies of living persons policy, called WP:BLP1E. At the deletion discussion, I think David Eppstein has explained well how those two sets of concerns interact. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 01:52, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:JohnGerrard.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:JohnGerrard.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
