Welcome and introduction

Hi, Gigogag. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person by golly! And this real person (that would be me), wants to say welcome to Wikipedia! I'm glad you've made an account! Thanks for joining; you're on your way to making some great contributions.

Because I've noticed you've just joined, I wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. Any questions are fine, nothing is too silly (we've heard them all). Now, the tips below - hop on them - they should help you begin editing. Best of luck! JoeSmack Talk 20:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Yessss! You made an account! Totally sweet!
  • Anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people. Besides that, you shouldn't feel nervous or anything about a good-willed contribution. If you're concerned, talk to us.
  • When you're ready, start your first article using the Article Wizard. You don't HAVE to use it, but for your first article it really helps. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references. If you'd like more guidance, you guessed it, talk to us.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page. (You'll want to sign your name with these four tildes ~~~~ when you leave something on a talk page to help know who you are!)

Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

--JoeSmack Talk 20:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

P.S. If you just feel like poking around, Wikipedia:Help is a good place to start. :)

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to the page Leopold Frankenberger has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Welcome

Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope you have an enjoyable and productive career as a Wikipedia editor.

I noticed the edits you made to our article Euclid: [1]. As you may know article content is arrived at through a process of editorial consensus (see WP:consensus), and any challenged assertions of fact need to be sourced (see WP:Verify). I and other editors have some concerns with the edits you made there. Of particular concern were the dates you gave for Euclid's life. Consequently I thought that the best thing for the article was to undo most of your changes, until they can be discussed. I know it can be upsetting when another editor reverts your edits, but I hope you won't mind. If you would like to provide sources (see WP:RS) for the dates you gave or discuss changes to the article please join the discussion on the article's talk page here. Regards, Paul August 14:15, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

Please don't repeat this edit again. Another experienced editor reverted this edit when you made it before, and was polite enough to notify you here. Your edit is contrary to the best historical sources, and the issue was discussed on the article's talk page. Please refer to that discussion. You are welcome, or course, to participate in that discussion. Thank you. —Finell 17:58, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for joining the discussion at Talk:Euclid#Revert of some recent changes. I and other editors have responded to you comments there. Regards Paul August 04:42, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

The article Harvest Hog has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Poorly sourced article about a non-notable character

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Pdcook (talk) 20:04, 23 November 2009 (UTC)

Sorry Peeps! Deletion Repealed!

You guys think you can get away with proposing the deletion of MY ARTICLE? Well, dream on because I have modified the article Harvest Hog by adding citations and making it redirect from Knuckles the Silly Piggy. Gigogag (talk) 01:38, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Sorry if I seemed to assertive with that last entry, I just wanted to say that dispite all odds, I have enhanced my article by means of life extension, as it will live on for a long, long time as a result of my citations. Enjoy my lusciously enhanced article as much as you wish. Gigogag (talk) 01:44, 10 December 2009 (UTC):-)

stubbing

Hi, If you're adding the {{stub}} tag to an article, please put it at the end, not the start - see WP:LAYOUT. Thanks. And actually I don't think Volney V. Ashford is a stub, defined in WP:STUB as "an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, but not so short as to provide no useful information, and it should be capable of expansion. Sizable articles are usually not considered stubs, even if they lack wikification or copy editing". If you think an article is inadequate in various ways, there is a wide range of appropriate templates to add - see Wikipedia:Cleanup resources. PamD (talk) 17:36, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

C'mon!!!

I worked so hard to enhance the article Harvest Hog by redirecting it from Knuckles the Silly Piggy, added reliable and verifiable citations, and some joker deleted the article for no reason at all other than to make me miserable?! THe guy said that he was deleting it just for the fun of it! Someone should do something!!! Yes, I put an emotecon there. Gigogag (talk) 17:29, 12 December 2009 (UTC)}:-[

Deletion of Legitimate Content in Article

I am not sure why you deleted actual content from the article, Andrew Jackson, Sr., but you did... Maybe next time if you have an issue with the validity of content, you could post your comments under the Discussion Section first, before you delete actual content for no reason... Stevenmitchell (talk) 20:47, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Interests

We seem to share common interest in the ancestry of famous people. I hope we're able to collaborate to improve our articles. I've edited your Frankenberger articles so that they don't make claims that can't be backed up: no one's proved who Alois Hitler's father was, there are various people who are claimed to be his father (Frankenberger among them), but none have been proved, so we can't make definitive statements. The articles also need to be sourced; I can help you format your sources if you like. In general, we don't have a "Related articles" section in articles; the proper heading is "See also". To make a bulleted list, all you have to do is use an asterisk "*" to start the line; once saved, there will be an indent and a bullet point. To indent without a bullet point, start the line with a colon ":". Two colons will indent twice; a colon followed by a bullet point will indent twice and add a bullet point.

So,

* this is a point

:* this is a sub-point

* this is a second point

becomes:

  • this is a point
  • this is a sub-point
  • this is a second point

Hope this helps,

- Nunh-huh 10:35, 17 December 2009 (UTC)

Absolutely!

Hi, Gigogag! Thanks for letting me know. I'm certain the recreation will be fine. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:24, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

  • Not a problem. It's currently a redirect to the main Dave the Barbarian article. What you might wish to consider is a better sourced and better written section on the character instead of a stand-alone article. The current section is in some real need of attention. Since the character is relatively minor, it might be better served in the Dave the Barbarian article instead of by itself. More people are likely to see it there. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:30, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Noob?

Hello Gigogag, I am the "noob" who made your (lame) article a redirect to List of Dave the Barbarian characters#Knuckles the Silly Piggy. First, I am most certainly not a noob, since I have been here for about 7 months. Second, please do not call other editors names, as this violates Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Thanks, Eagles 24/7 (C) 17:09, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Indefinitely blocked

You have been blocked indefinitely for sock puppetry. (blocked by –MuZemike 01:54, 10 January 2010 (UTC))
You may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but please read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Adminship

You indicated an interest in becoming an administrator. look at WP:ADMIN for lots of detail on what admins are, and how people become admins. In general it is rare for a person to become an admin only a few months after creating an account. Probably the best way is to wait until someone notices your contributions and nominated you for adminship, but any user may self-nominate at any time. There are no formal requirements; what is needed is a consensus that you will use the tools properly and helpfully. DES (talk) 13:35, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Deleting a user page

Hello, Gigogag. I removed two PROD tags from this page; PROD is only for use on articles, not user pages. If you would like to have your user pages deleted, you may use the {{db-user}} tag. Cnilep (talk) 19:30, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

The article Leopold Frankenberger, Sr. has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

His only claim to notability is as father of Leopold Frankenberger, Jr., who in turn is notable only for rumors that he may have been Adolf Hitler's biological grandfather. Fails WP:GNG.

The article Hugh Jackson (businessman) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Jackson's only claim to notability is that he is the grandfather of US President Andrew Jackson. Per WP:Notability, notability is not inherited.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Hello, just to let you know this has now been referred to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hugh Jackson (businessman). Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 17:33, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

I have nominated Leopold Frankenberger, Sr., an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leopold Frankenberger, Sr.. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Cnilep (talk) 15:44, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Leopold Frankenberger, Jr.. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Leopold Frankenberger, Jr.. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:10, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Thats okay, it was a horribly unsourced article anyway. I actually encourage this action. Gigogag (talk) 01:30, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Last Messages From Host User

My days of making stupid redirects, arguing with administrators, and sockpuppetry are over. I will not return to editing. Goodbye, Wikipedia!!!

PS= administrators, please retire my sockpuppet accounts and place the same notice on my user page, as I cannot because I'm blocked (for a well-deserved reason). Gigogag (talk) 01:35, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Whenever (and if) you do grow up and take some responsibility for yourself, you can email unblock-en-l@wikimedia.org and kindly request that you be unblocked. I am revoking your ability to edit your talk page in the meantime. Regards, –MuZemike 02:49, 27 January 2010 (UTC)

Your name has been mentioned in connection with a sockpuppetry case. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Gigogag for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to cases before editing the evidence page. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:56, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

As I said in reply to your e-mail, I have unblocked this account after you complied with the terms of WP:OFFER. Good luck! Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:20, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Tweard.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 03:13, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

I have deleted the image as a copyright violation. Unless you are granted permission to use an image from a book (and you would need OTRS confirmation), you may not upload it. Eagles 24/7 (C) 04:21, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

That's okay. I'm sorry for the trouble about his picture. I just felt an obligation to give the article some well-needed attention, since it's supposed to be an article about Warren Elmer Blackhurst instead of an overview of his books. The biography section needed attention from either a relative or a really big fan. I happen to be both. Tweard was my mom's great-uncle. I'll be sure to remember the copyright information in the future. Gigogag (talk) 13:00, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
