Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.

Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.

Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 15:13, Jun 9, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing my mistake. Guess I should have checked the page history first. Gamaliel 20:10, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

John Rhys-Davis

John Rhys-Davies was actually born in Salibury, Witlshire, England. But with a name like that he must have Welsh origins. --maelor 22:59, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Confirmed. Born in Salisbury but mother from Ammanford where he spent his early childhood.

Just so you know, [1] is an exact mirror version of Wikipedia. There are quite a large number of web sites out there that are allowed to mirror our content. They usually carry an older version of it, however - sometimes updated a month or even later after our version is updated. Mad Jack 16:12, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Straw poll

Hi,

Glad to see a torchwood template on your page - i created it, but i'm wondering if i should change the ironic 'Dr.Who?' to the logo as seen on the Torchwood page? Please let me know what you think. I may also change the text when the series itself begins. Thanks. Pydos 15:49, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah sounds like a good idea. I'll change it in a minute. Pydos 16:04, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Done. Just wait for the spinoff now in case of another change. The picture is larger than i'd like, but the two tone blue/black looks quite good, but otherwise the logo is to small. Pydos 16:09, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Burning at the centre of time

Thanks! It's a bit embarassing, that was: I'm a Brit myself! Must've been Americanised due to the use of certain programming/design languages. Will 17:57, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for adding The Evil of the Daleks to Daleks in Manhattan to - I'm a 9th/10th Doctor guy, given my age - the only pre-movie episodes I ever saw were the last episode of The Claws of Axos, and the first of Remembrance of the Daleks. Thanks again! :) Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 15:42, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Two Questions

  • 1. How did you know the names of the six actors to appear in both Dr. Who and Star Trek. Was it personal knowledge or did you perform some kind of imdb search.
  • 2. I'm researching Edward Tudor-Pole. Apparently, he is part of a famous "Tudor-Pole" family that is descended from the Tudor royal family (either indirectly or through a bastard). You seem to know a lot about English actors. Can you shed any light on this for me or tell me where to look?

Thanks.--Dr who1975 04:20, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

You may have missed these questions what with all the bot updates to your discussion page... so here I am updating it so that you might see it.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Daniel about to walk out of Jack's life for the second time.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Daniel about to walk out of Jack's life for the second time.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:07, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello GusF! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 34 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Jake McGann - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Steven R. McQueen - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi, do you have a citation for Hannah Hill being 18 when Sydney was born, rather than 19? I reverted your edit because a quick look at Google seems to show 19 as the accepted age, but if you have a citation that says otherwise... Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:41, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Category:Wikipedians who like Star Trek, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. JamesAlan1986 20:50, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

How are those two episodes related?

Under the USAS section, I don't see how those two episodes are related. "The Eastern Coalition-Free Alliance Cold War / War" is a good addition to the list since they had obvious connections. Dream Focus 17:01, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
