Orphaned non-free image File:UIW Script Logo with Cardinal Head, July 2015.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:UIW Script Logo with Cardinal Head, July 2015.jpeg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:07, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Replaceable fair use File:Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Gayle and Tom Benson Stadium.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:41, 15 August 2016 (UTC)

2019 Southern Jaguars football team moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, 2019 Southern Jaguars football team, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 15:18, 23 August 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Ways to improve Forever First Foundation, Inc.
[edit]Hello, IceBurgs70,
Thank you for creating Forever First Foundation, Inc..
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
This article needs more references. What is needed are references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion. Kindly do the needful. Thank you.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}

Speedy deletion nomination of Forever First Foundation, Inc.
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Forever First Foundation, Inc., requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://foreverfirstfoundation.com/our-vision. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Usedtobecool ☎️ 16:13, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

Naming conventions: Incarnate Word / UIW and Houston Christian / HCU
[edit]Thanks for edits reverting UIW and HCU back to Incarnate Word and Houston Christian respectively. I was torn when I made them. My rationale to make the edit associated with the Cardinals was based on the 2019 UIW Athletics Style Guide which stated in the Verbiage section "On first reference, we are the University of the Incarnate Word. On second reference, UIW is preferred. Any other reference, including Incarnate Word or Incarnate Word University is incorrect." [1]https://uiwcardinals.com/documents/2019/4/8/2019_UIW_Athletics_Style_Guide.pdf (I've been using Incarnate Word for years and just want to do what is the consensus when editing.)
For the Houston Christian edits, I used the question and answer section in Houston Christian University's announcement of its name change from Houston Baptist University to Houston Christian University. In the "How does the name change affect the University's athletic program, the response's second point stated "We will immediately begin to refer to ourselves as "HCU" on first reference and then "Houston Christian" on second reference."[2]https://hbu.edu/hc/
I really do appreciate all the articles you have created over the years and the edits you have made. Good luck to your Cardinals. LUSportsFan (talk) 23:23, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

McNeese Cowboys
[edit]Moving the pages is one thing, but when it comes to the categories, please note that you cannot just go around refiling the pages from "McNeese State Cowboys" categories to "McNeese Cowboys" categories without actually following the proper process to actually get the categories renamed. Articles are not allowed to be left sitting in redlinked categories that don't exist, so if you're changing a page's categories to ones that don't actually exist you're breaking stuff.
You need to nominate the categories for renaming through the WP:CFR process; when that completes, the pages will all be automatically moved to the new replacement categories. But until the categories are renamed through the proper process, you have to leave the pages in the categories that actually exist, and you absolutely cannot preemptively refile them in categories that don't exist in advance of having the categories that do exist renamed. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 13:27, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
