[edit]

Hello JSandberg. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Bodo Sandberg, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 23:36, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Toddst1, Thank you for your comments. I am new to and inexperienced in Wikipedia. I welcome and invite any help necessary to edit the Article in the proper Wikipedia format. Can you please point out where I failed so I can make the necessary corrections? Or, maybe you, as a Wikipedia expert, can edit the text? I thank you again and wish you a happy 2012. --Job 23:55, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

  • Job, you need reliable sources for the article. I've already rewritten it for neutrality, but without evidence for the statements any editor is free to remove whatever they feel is inappropriate. This is the time to go through your knipselmap and add references for the claims, with complete bibliographical information (title, author, publication, date, page numbers, etc.). Online sources are welcome to, but personal websites and the like don't count. Good luck, and happy new year, Drmies (talk) 15:12, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Veel dank Toddst1 en/of Drmies, zo ziet het er prachtig uit. Hoe en wanneer kunnen we het - nu correcte - Artiekel over Bodo Sandberg van de "To be deleted" list af krijgen?

--Job 22:55, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

  • Job, I speak Dutch but I don't think Todd does (which is also why I'm continuing in English). As for the deletion: click on the link to see the discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bodo Sandberg. The problem is that the information is not well verified. Even the Cross of Merit isn't well verified, and the Airman's Cross has only a link to a website for verification--which is why I asked about your knipselmap. I went through the archives of the NRC, Trouw, Volkskrant, and Parool and came up empty-handed. It is very likely that sources do exist from before those archives were made available electronically, but editors outside of the Netherlands have no way of getting access to those. I found the mention of your father in Dessing's book, but it took me a lot of time and trouble to find it. So find those articles, maybe scan them, drop a note on the article talk page--anything will help. Good luck, Drmies (talk) 02:54, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Drmies, All of Bodo Sandberg's Military and Knight's Orders as listed in my Article "Bodo Sandberg" can be verified on page 144 of the book "Het Vliegerkruis" by H.G. Meyer and R. Vis, ISBN 90 6707 347 4. If you need any further verification I will be glad to help. What about my offer to start an Article about the "Royal Dutch Military-Flying School" in Jackson, Mississippi? If I set up the first draft, will you help to get it in the right Wikipedia format? So far, the two Articles I started (which took at least as much time and effort to set up as you so kindly contributed in researching/verifying Bodo's facts and data) are/were about to be simply deleted (hardly the kind of encouragement or welcome that spurs people on to make the effort). --Job 04:09, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Royal Netherlands Military Flying-School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Job sandberg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 00:19, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Job sandberg. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. 220 of Borg 00:36, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

This applies to infoboxes, too.

Thanks, and my best wishes.
