Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Asian basil a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Banh trang

[edit]

Hi there. Great job on creating the article about Banh trang. I tagged the article with {{Linkrot}}, but you removed the clean-up tag without solving the issue. If you want to know what linkrot is, you can read about it on WP:LINKROT, but if you don't intend to fix it you should readd the tag which will attract other editors who can solve it for you. Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 16:26, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The main text of the article Banh trang seems to have been copied ad verbatim from www.thefreelibrary.com "Twice as rice: there is rice paper, and then there is rice paper.". Please read Wikipedia:Copy-paste for what is, and especially, what is not allowed as content here in Wikipedia. - Takeaway (talk) 17:13, 1 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. I have reverted your additions to the Sriracha sauce article, because what you wrote is about the Huy Fong brand sauce, which has its own individual article at Sriracha sauce (Huy Fong Foods). The Sriracha sauce article is about the generic Thai sauce. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 23:56, 2 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Banh trang. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. - Takeaway (talk) 07:48, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be pretty new here and have had some article moves reverted (you seem to be moving things to Vietnam-centric names), so can I please ask you not to move any further articles yourself, at least for a while, and use the WP:RM process instead. Get to know the way we use common names for things here, and get some feedback from RM requests, and that should help you better understand the way we do things. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 08:11, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Cinnamon basil, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - Takeaway (talk) 08:47, 11 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
