Pop up Retail
Hello Joseph2302, Thanks for your note about my post being the better version. I've been going back and forth with a user about the Pop Up Retail history. I noticed a few other instances with a user using a different name holding the same views, and a similar back an forth. Once again. I appreciate your note.

Pop Up Retail
Hello Joseph2302, It appears "2600:100e:b119:9c1f:a1a4:1f03:6dd5:7259" converted the Pop Up Retail entry back to the previous version based on the word "Expo" implicating a "trade show." If you read the provided citations from both the Los Angeles Times and the Chicago Tribute, the Ritual Expo was purely a public event - not a trade show - that AT&T and Levi-Strauss used to sell products in a one-day shopping spree. The Chicago Tribute refer to it as an "ultimate hipster mall" and a "one day...shopping spree". Additionally, the video citation shows multiple pop-ups, and if you watch closely one is called "Prototype" for Motorola that evolved from the Ritual Expo. Prototype was not called an Expo...but was rather a one-day shopping spree for Motorola.
Finally, the current entry is entirely a promotion for a company called "Vacant" which also includes a direct link to the company and states "The company still provides pop-up retailing and brand marketing today." That appears to be blatant advertising.
Djpace (talk) 03:24, 2 July 2015 (UTC) djpace
- @Djpace: I agree, their edits are both incorrect according to the sources, and promotional towards that company- someone else has already reverted it. The article has been semi-protected, which means IPs and accounts who are younger than 4 days old (which unfortunately includes you for 2 days) cannot edit it. On the plus side, the IPs cannot edit it, and so it'll stay on the good version of the article. Joseph2302 (talk) 11:13, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Flag for deletion
Hi Joseph,
I'm Adam Goldsmith, a grad student at the University of Missouri Health Management and Informatics program and intern for our Innovation Center. I'm attempting to create several Wikipedia pages regarding new and relevant companies that address important issues in healthcare.
Is there a specific reason why you've flagged my page for deletion, and is there anything I can do to edit the page to change that? I'd really appreciate your input. Thanks.
HealthcareTrends (talk) 16:45, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Adam
- @HealthcareTrends: I didn't mark it for deletion, someone else did, I only put it up for deletion discussion because you were using multiple accounts/IP addresses to illegitimately remove notices. And the reason is no evidence it's notable per WP:GNG and WP:ORG. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:09, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Also, 2 admins have agreed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ludi Inc, and the article has been deleted by them. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:11, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for the input. May I try to edit the content and create a new one? There are multiple Chicago area publications that can verify the content in the article. Would using those references help? Thanks again.
HealthcareTrends (talk) 17:15, 2 July 2015 (UTC)Adam
- @HealthcareTrends: Adding some reliable sources like you mentioned would be good. I recommend creating a draft article, Draft:Ludi Inc, and work on it there. Then you can submit it for review by more experienced editors by adding {{subst:submit}} to the top of the article.
- Also, you must stop using multiple accounts and IP addresses as you did at Ludi Inc to try and halt the deletion of that page. Only 1 account is permitted, any more is sockpuppetry. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:39, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi Joseph,
Can you please explain what is wrong with the article Saleduck that I have added on Wiki?

Miguel — Preceding unsigned comment added by Miguel.agricolas (talk • contribs) 20:27, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Miguel.agricolas: Apparently it was deleted by @RHaworth: as promotional and non-notable, and also deleted by @Mojo Hand: as non-notable. To show why something is notable, you need to show evidence of significant, independent coverage about them in reliable sources, per WP:GNG. Unfortunately as the page has been deleted, I cannot view it to say specifically what was wrong with it. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:38, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
I declined the speedy on this page. As per WP:UPYES, a user is allowed to have some content about him- or herself, "Limited autobiographical content". While this is far from ideal, I don't think it goes over the line into speedy deletion territory. DES (talk) 23:11, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- I guess there isn't anything promotional about it, so fair enough. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:12, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

maybe related to Kenneth Shuttleworth
Hi Joseph2302, I'm not sure if this is a true fact or not, but I just remember my Dad telling me a long time ago that I was related to Kenneth Shuttleworth & that he also has a brother called Ronald, that's if it's the same man or if by any chance we are related. My Dad was Kenneth Wood who had brothers called Stanley & Eric, and possibly other family members but I'm not familiar with them as I didn't meet my Dad until I was turned 16 because I was brought up in the care of Social Services in St Helens. So I am still trying to find family members My email address for any correspondence or confirmation etc. is <redacted> Thank you Mrs Margaret White 92.6.241.236 (talk) 21:52, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
- I'm going to assume you're talking about Ken Shuttleworth (cricketer) and not Ken Shuttleworth (architect) (as I edited the cricketer page in January). Either way, I have no knowledge in how to track family histories, sorry, and I'm not sure how this is relevant to editing in Wikipedia, or why you think I'd know anything about it. DYK for Black armband protest
On 4 July 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Black armband protest, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that during the 2003 Cricket World Cup, Zimbabwean cricketers Andy Flower and Henry Olonga wore black armbands? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Black armband protest. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

- @Guru Pratap Pawar: The best guide is Wikipedia:Your first article, in particular I'd recommend using WP:Article Wizard to create a draft article first, which you can then submit for review. The current article is a copyright violation, as it's a copy of another site, and so will probably be deleted very soon, but that doesn't stop you from creating a decent, non-copyrighted version of the article. Speedy deletion nomination of Farman Fathalian
Looks like the article author removed your tag. Not his first time doing this to one of his articles. Looks like he doesn't like listening to or reading instructions. Am not sure what the procedure is here— do you? KDS4444Talk 16:59, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- @KDS4444: I moved it to draftspace but seems like they immediately moved it out of draftspace. Might need an admin to do a history merge. I don't have an issue with it, the speedy deletion tag was an "implausible redirect" tag, as the article was in draftspace. Joseph2302 (talk) 18:32, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

OPTrust deletion
Hi Joseph2302. Thank you for reviewing the submission, unfortunately it was written in such a way that it made it sound as promotional. It would be great and highly appreciated if you could mention how I could make it acceptable. Thank you for your time. --Pensioncomm2015 (talk) 20:10, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

Vactruth deletion
I will be redrafting the Vactruth.com entry and need to know the aspects that are nonconforming. I am sure a conforming page can be prepared. I would appreciate your input. (Everyoneshouldknow (talk) 07:44, 6 July 2015 (UTC)).
The new draft will have footnotes which source every statement in the article to comply with the "and unsourced" requirement. Its not my fault if the documented information concerning this site is negative. The entry for Naturalnews.com is mostly negative but it is properly sourced and in compliance.
- Another user has posted an adequate reply at your talkpage. Fundamentally, Wikipedia is not a place to right great wrongs by writing wholly negative articles. It's clear you have a negative conflict of interest/mentality towards this company, and so shouldn't be writing about them, as your negative emotions are causing your writing to be non-neutral. Nimkartek is listed on corporate companies directories of India
Hi Joseph,
You just removed my request to add my company (Nimkartek.com) to wikipedia saying it has no reliable resources. If you search the web on google you will find a lot of mentions about the company on textile chemical management. This company in association with ZDHC and Greenpeace is working towards training to all the people in Textile Supply Chain to use environment friendly and non-harmful chemicals in manufacturing of textiles. I request you to please have a relook at the matter. I appreciate your quick response on it. Looking forward to hear back soon from you.
Thank You! Krishan Kant (talk) 11:16, 8 July 2015 (UTC)Krishan Kant
- @Krishan Kant: Well then add a reliable source with your request. Also, your previous requests were just adverts for the company, rather than being factual and neutral tone- marketing advertising like "Mr. Ullhas Nimkar's effort to translate his passion of ecological testing of textiles into a structured business model that will provide world-class services in the field of ecology and sustainability to the entire textile supply chain. Now Nimkartek is a growing team of Textile professionals and engineers on a mission to provide world class quality trainings and solutions to the Industry." is not going to be accepted. Instead, format your request like " NimkarTek Technical Services Pvt. Ltd is an Indian textile company, sources.....". Joseph2302 (talk) 11:20, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

- Someone else can readd them with reliable sources then. Multiple IPs have been editing/changing these over the last few days, and none of them used reliable sources, so WP:VERIFY was the best course of action IMO. Also, I'm pretty sure being an U-16 coach isn't notable enough for the article anyway. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:01, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Huckerby's notable anyway ;-) --Dweller (talk) 14:22, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Huckerby's notable as a person, I don't think that his current job (U-16 coach) is notable for the staff list- in the same way, the squad only lists first-team squad, I think the Staff list should just list first-team staff. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:23, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- Almost with you. I think the Academy coach role is encyclopedic, especially as so often they go on to replace first-team manager, as happened with Norwich very recently. --Dweller (talk) 14:29, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- I guess Academy coach could be notable, but U-18 and U-16 coaches are definitely not (even if it's the great Darren Huckerby). Joseph2302 (talk) 14:46, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
- If a Man Utd player had done this, we'd never have heard the end of it. --Dweller (talk) 14:55, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Re:Harassing posts
It wasn't referring to you actually. And the person who it does refer to I really don't have an issue with, they've actually been super super helpful.
All I am trying to do is reach out to other people who are more aware of what my updated reference list means. For example, if I were looking at a page on something math related, which I know absolutely nothing about, I would possibly misunderstand the reliability of some of the references. Given how small and insular the crafts are in general, and especially art jewelry, I am just seeking advice from people who are familiar with publications, galleries, etc that I have used as references and to see if they may be able to give any specific advice based on their knowledge.
So I am sorry if you prematurely got upset. But it really wasn't about you/ towards you/ referencing you/etc... At all. I didn't even know you were also a mathematician!Clarefinin (talk) 22:30, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Clarefinin: Um no problem, but you did say the article was nominated for deletion by a mathematician, which seemed odd- and my userpage does list me as a mathematician, so I assumed it was aimed at me. I hope you can find other people to help you improve the article, because I believe that currently it isn't quite good enough for Wikipedia, but if someone could find a few reliable sources then it might be. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:33, 11 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Joseph2302: Apparently there is many more mathematicians on Wikipedia than jewelers or historians that specialize in the decorative arts! Have you looked at the page today by any chance? I flushed out a lot of sections and added additional references including the American Craft Council, a few newspapers, and additional university presses.
- Just took a brief look, will give it a proper look when I have more time (which probably won't be for a few days). For now, I've changed my vote from delete to probably keep. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:49, 11 July 2015 (UTC)

Why would you want to delete *Alina Parra it shows that you don't just NEED to know celebritites you want to meet someone that is like you!!!! Ivorygirl1218 (talk) 21:26, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Ivorygirl1218: Neither Alina Parra or Rose Ivory are notable enough for a Wikipedia article- just because they exist doesn't mean they deserve an article. I'm guessing these articles are about you and a friend, in which case I would recommend using a social network (Facebook/Twitter etc.)- Wikipedia is not a social network for writing about yourself. Your input
Hi there. I noticed you have experience with articles about shopping malls, and have nominated one for deletion. This is an area of editing which I have no experience and would like your input. I do a lot of editing to articles about Mississippi, and have in the past edited Outlets of Mississippi. There doesn't appear to be great depth of coverage for this mall, but there is some, including this which described it as "the first large outlet mall in the Jackson metropolitan area, which will feature major top of the line stores". I looked at the place on Google street view and it doesn't seem very impressive. Lots of small outlet stores. I also question if this mall crosses into WP:NOTDIRECTORY. I'm reluctant to nominate the article for deletion, as I'm unsure of the threshold for shopping mall notability. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks. Magnolia677 (talk) 12:30, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Magnolia677: I have very little experience editing about shopping malls, and basically all of it is currently under discussion/scrutiny at WP:ANI (see above ANI notification). As a result, I don't feel like I'm the best person to ask about shopping malls. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:15, 13 July 2015 (UTC)

- You seem to be having a dispute with yourself over the content of your user page. Perhaps you should discuss the matter with yourself here? :) —C.Fred (talk) 20:09, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- @C.Fred: I treat my userpage with the same Wikipedia standards as proper articles, and it was technically too early to change the information on my userpage- I seem to remember warning myself previously for ownership, as my userpage had a list of "my articles", not "articles I created". In case people care/are confused, moving to London tomorrow, although WP:CRYSTAL says that until that happens, I technically still live in Dorset. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:34, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
DYK for Jamie Porter
On 16 July 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jamie Porter, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Jamie Porter took a wicket with the fifth ball he bowled in first-class cricket? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jamie Porter. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

ABA Page
Hi Joseph
I just started using Wikipedia today as an editor, though obviously have used it before as a viewer.
My alterations to the ABA (Antiquarian Booksellers Association) page have been removed, saying they need to be cited. I am in charge of the ABA office - you will be able to find my details on the ABA website aba.org.uk - and all the proof of what I am saying can be found on the ABA website (changed address details can be proven through our website, conditions of membership, and so on). There is no reference source as such, it is just fact. I'd also really like to put up our ABA logo.
I don't really understand what I can cite to prove e.g. our address?
Any help gratefully received
Camilla Szymanowska ABASec (talk) 10:00, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
ABA Secretary
- @ABASec: "I know it to be true" is not verifiable, and is therefore not a reliable source- unless reliable sources mention things, they shouldn't be added. Also, the full address is not wanted anyway, as Wikipedia is not a directory/Yellow Pages. Joseph2302 (talk) 20:48, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
recent edits
Joseph,
I am the Director of Public Relations at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. All the copy I've used in our Wikipedia edits was written by me for the Lamont website where I am the administrator. My last edit tried to remove the three links at the bottom of the page which are outdated. The only external link should be the link to our website. Can you delete these links?
Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PRDirector (talk • contribs) 21:17, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
- No, they are not "external links" but categories, and should be kept- see WP:CATEGORY. Also, you have a clear conflict of interest, and so should not be directly editing the article, especially to remove categories. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:24, 16 July 2015 (UTC)
Article Review
Hello Joseph,
with regards to your review of my article: "This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. ... I've noticed you created Draft: Sysdig, and a simple Google search suggests that you work for this company. Therefore, you have a conflict of interest, and you should disclose this, preferably on your userpage and/or the draft talkpage. Also, WP:COI discourages you from writing about your company due to your conflict of interest, primarily because conflicted editors find it difficult to write in an encyclopedic, neutral tone. Joseph2302 (talk) 23:33, 15 July 2015 (UTC)"
Yes, I work at Sysdig and I've declared that in the article creation wizard. Does that information get passed to whoever review the article? My purpose here is not advertising the company but trying to help the worldwide sysdig community to have few reference points. The following is a message I've got from a sysdig user (can't disclose the name of course for privacy reasons): "No Wikipedia entry yet? Must be a new tool? Interesting. Would you or others like to present at balug.org? the SPIRE has all the details. – Grant"
Sysdig is an open source project and has users all over the world. I've tried to be neutral in writing the article and is plenty of external references, none of them is written by any company employee. What are you suggestions to make it more neutral? Just having someone else submitting? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by EBruschini (talk • contribs) 18:56, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
- @EBruschini: Creating an article via AfC is not a disclosure of conflict of interest, you must make an explicit declaration on your userpage and/or the draft talkpage of the form "Disclosure: I am an employee of the company". Also just listing product capabilities is unencyclopedic, as Wikipedia is not a product directory. Less of the product lines, and more sourced information about other things (history maybe?). Just because someone said you should have a Wikipedia article doesn't mean you're actually notable enough. Joseph2302 (talk) 21:26, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
Tagging of I Am A Survivor
I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on I Am A Survivor. I do not think that I Am A Survivor fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because "debuted at number 33 on the uk dance chart" is a claim of significance. I request that you consider not re-tagging I Am A Survivor for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. I admit this has a ways to go before notability is fully established. DES (talk) 17:11, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- @DES: Understood, #33 chart is a claim of significance. Maybe it should be refactored to being about the artist instead (as the person probably meets WP:NMUSIC), but music articles aren't really my thing for spending much time on. Joseph2302 (talk) 17:17, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for reverting my edits (i'm not being sarcastic)
Hi thanks for reverting my edits. I was using the visual editor and made a mess. For that you get a cookie!
— Preceding unsigned comment added by Georgeday868 (talk • contribs) 22:23, 18 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Georgeday868: No problem, I realised it was good faith editing, but still the article was better just being reverted back to the best version. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:59, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

The British School Caracas
Hi,
I was updating this page to reflect our school's vision, mission and accreditations. Weirdly, it is not being accepted!
Help
Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by TBSCHead (talk • contribs) 18:42, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- @TBSCHead: It's not weird it's not being accepted, Wikipedia is not the place for official content from schools, as your school does not own the Wikipedia article about it. Vision/mission statements are completely unencyclopedic, and not wanted on Wikipedia, what Wikipedia wants is neutral tone information supported by reliable sources. Also, as noted on your talkpage, you have a conflict of interest, as your username suggests you are the head. Therefore, you are strongly discouraged from directly editing this article, you should suggest changes at the article talkpage instead- nevertheless, no decent editors will allow vision/mission statements. Joseph2302 (talk) 18:46, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
Ok - thanks for the clarification — Preceding unsigned comment added by TBSCHead (talk • contribs) 18:54, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
Olivier Kemen
I feel with my article being possibly deleted, i now understand how I was breaking some rules and regulations, but now i fully understand them I feel if you don't delete my article I will be able to fix it so it no longer breaks any rules. Olivier Kemen doesn't play in the first team but that doesn't mean he isn't noticeable, he is well recognised by all Newcastle United Fans and many other people who love football. Reasons why he is noticeable: He has played for his country; and he plays for an academy for a very large football club. — Preceding unsigned comment added by InfernoXF (talk • contribs) 19:09, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
- @InfernoXF: If he hasn't played in the first team, he isn't notable per WP:NFOOTY- unless there is significant, independent coverage about him in reliable sources to pass WP:GNG, then he isn't notable enough. Also, playing for Newcastle U19 or France U19 doesn't make them notable enough for Wikipedia. Joseph2302 (talk) 19:40, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
He has been on Sky SportsNews (the biggest sports tv show) being interviewed and his goals have been shown on their.— Preceding unsigned comment added by InfernoXF (talk • contribs)

University of Gibraltar
Why was the editing on 14:58, 17 July 2015 reverted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.244.215.148 (talk)
Why is adding information of faculties within the university considered as spam when other UK university pages within Wikipedia, e.g. Leeds University, Kingston university etc. have them listed?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.244.215.148 (talk • contribs)
- I cannot see the text added (since the revision has been deleted), but from memory, it added promotional text about how amazing some people involved were. Also, it was a copyright violation, and also faculties shouldn't be added, as the University isn't open yet. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:28, 24 July 2015 (UTC)
