Welcome

[edit]

Hello Joseth Felix Torres and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to List of domesticated animals, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox (but beware that the contents of the sandbox are deleted frequently) rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! —BarrelProof (talk) 20:58, 24 February 2019 (UTC) —BarrelProof (talk) 20:58, 24 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to List of domesticated animals does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! —BarrelProof (talk) 03:36, 27 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

March 2019

[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Water buffalo, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. --Yamla (talk) 17:34, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Systema Naturae

[edit]

Please stop adding false information to the article. Just focusing on "Elephas africana", it is nowhere mentioned in that edition - that's easy to check on Google books. If you don't stop your edit warring to push misleading information into articles, you are likely to be blocked. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 21:05, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning. The next time you insert unsourced and misleading statements into that article, I will report you for disruptive editing. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 22:46, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Joseth Felix Torres: Look dude, we are reasonably sure we have figured out what the issue is here: the article is supposed to be based on the original Latin version of Linnaeus' 10th edition, which is available here. You, however, are using the English translation. But that is based on a later (13th) edition and contains many alterations. Please, if you want to help maintain this article, use the correct source!

Sadly you seem to be ignoring all messages to your talk page. You are currently engaged in an WP:Edit war on that page, insisting on inserting wrong material. I will reiterate that if you do not stop, I will ask to have you blocked for a time, if only to get you to start communicating with us about this problem. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 15:39, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

List of domesticated animals and individual species

[edit]

You continue to make unsourced and mostly plain wrong edits to that article and the articles of the individual species mentioned there. None of the ones you modified is recognized as a subspecies "domesticus"; trying again and again doesn't make it true. This is becoming disruptive. Either stop, or at least start talking here and discuss the issue, or my next move will be to report you and ask for a block. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 02:40, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Unconstructive edits of Exotic pet article

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Exotic pet, you may be blocked from editing. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:04, 1 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Exotic pet. Please engage in discussion on talk pages and provide descriptions of your edits in edit summaries rather than just edit warring. —BarrelProof (talk) 18:44, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have asked an administrator to revert these moves. Not only did you manage to introduce spelling errors into the new article titles, you also did not discuss the moves beforehand, which is almost always required before moving long-established articles. Please don't do this again. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 15:22, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted the move. As above, please use WP:RM in future. GiantSnowman 15:26, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Undiscussed page move

[edit]

Hello Joseth Felix Torres, I have requested that an administrator revert your move of Southern lion to South lion. This change away from the common name to an unusual, if not unsourced and incorrect, variant is likely to be contested. Again, you did not discuss this move beforehand, which is almost always required before moving long-established articles. Also pinging GiantSnowman. Loopy30 (talk) 12:26, 22 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
