The article Francesco Cironato has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced; no indication of independent notability per WP:CRIME apart from the crime family of which he was supposedly a member.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Giuseppe Guinta requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is King Genovese. Thank you. — Mr. Stradivarius 16:55, 27 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A note to you my friend

[edit]

There are some serious concerns regarding your edits here, enough to possibly block you. I would strongly suggest you go to the discussion King Genovese before editing any more. Otherwise, I have no choice but to assume you are only here to be disruptive. I'm trying to assume you are acting in good faith, help prove me right and just go there before editing any more. • Thank you for starting the process and beginning a dialog. We can't change the rules for many legal reasons. When you add info on someone that implicates them as a criminal, there are very strict rules that say you MUST provide references. If we didn't, what would stop me from calling anyone else a criminal? That could be abused. Even if you are 100 percent right, it has to be backed up by sources. It is hard, that is why it has taken many, many years. But we have the high standards for a reason, so the information is trustworthy and backed up with sources. You should seek mentoring before continuing to edit here, they can help you understand what is expected, how to do a few things, and prevent all these tags you get on your talk page here. Tips

[edit]

First, always sign talkpage posts with four ~ things. Puts your sig and the datestamp on. Second, if it's a BLP (Biography of a Living Person) or a BRDP (Bio of Recently Deceased Person - not an official category as I just invented it) that you're working on, and you can't find references, it's safer not to post it until you can reference. One reliable one is required for all new BLPs, but anything controversial or anything that might light up the eyes of a lawyer must be referenced as well. Saying someone has a wife and three kids is usually OK - unless he's a Roman Catholic bishop. Saying the person shot someone needs referencing (especially if he's a Roman Catholic bishop with or without a wife and three kids...). My great grandfather (OK, one of them) got taken to court because he said something well known locally about a woman. A policeman heard him. Here, you've got potentially millions of people reading your stuff. Do feel free to talk to us, and don't be afraid to admit when you're stuck. I still ask advice, and I've been here for four years and I'm an admin. One thing we don't want to do is lose someone who can contribute articles. (Got to encourage them - I've got two to my name and have deleted 14000 of other people's.) But, there are rules to learn and things not to do - just the same as in any club. Don't be worried about that discussion Dennis linked for you to look at and take part in. It's not a drumhead court. It's to try to get things sorted out so you can contribute successfully and be a part of the community. See you there, or you can message me on my talkpage, or go on talking to Dennis. He's good at sorting things politely. I tend to be rude until the opposing sides find they are in agreement - even if it's only agreeing on what they'd like to do to me... This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Gabriel Mannarino, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.lacndb.com/php/Info.php?name=Gabriel%20Mannarino.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. Blocked

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of one week for disruptive editing - continuing, despite many warnings and explanations, to create articles which are copyright violations, are unreferenced, and/or are about people who do not meet Wikipedia's notability requirement. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. JohnCD (talk) 21:01, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry to block you, but it seems to be the only way to get your attention. You had a final warning on the 27th, an AN/I discussion, and good advice from Dennis Brown and Peridon, but today you have produced three more unsuitable articles. This is just a waste of everyone's time. Let me once again spell out the issues:

  • You must not copy material into Wikipedia. Below every edit screen it says "Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted". It matters nothing that the source site has no copyright symbol - we have to assume that it is copyrighted unless it is explicitly stated to be public domain or released under a compatible license. Please read Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • Wikipedia is selective about subjects for articles. Just having been a mobster is not enough. The test is called WP:Notability and requires showing references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. There may be a specialised wiki somewhere that would like to have articles about every mobster that ever existed, but Wikipedia would not. That is why Salvatore Brocato and James Roti are getting delete !votes at their AfDs, and why I deleted Dominick Alaimo. Writing non-notable articles wastes your time and ours.
  • Wikipedia has a policy of WP:Verifiability: "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." The responsibility for supplying references is with the person who introduces the information - see WP:BURDEN. For living people in particular, it is absolutely vital that information, particularly accusations of criminal activity, is properly referenced. The policy on WP:Biographies of living persons includes:

"Contentious material about living persons (or recently deceased) that is unsourced or poorly sourced—whether the material is negative, positive, neutral, or just questionable—should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion."

All this has been explained to you before, but you have given no sign that you understand it. If you are to be unblocked, you will have to convince an administrator that you understand these issues and will not continue to disregard them.

If, after your block expires, you continue to post unsuitable articles, you must expect a longer, perhaps indefinite block. Please do not let that happen: you are evidently keen to help expand our coverage in this area, and if you can comply with Wikipedia's standards and rules that would be a valuable contribution to make. Did you know that there is a Wikipedia:WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography? You should be able to find help and advice there.

JohnCD (talk) 21:57, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As your editing was discussed at WP:AN/I before, I have left a follow-up message there about this block at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#King Genovese, again. (The section link does not seem to work - scroll up till you see the section). If you wish to make any comment at that discussion, you may make it below here and someone will copy it across. A tag has been placed on Carlo T. Piranio, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Hi again King Genovese. As you can see from the message above, any of your articles that have already been deleted at Articles for deletion can be speedily deleted unless they are substantially different from the previous version. In this case, that means adding reliable sources to prove notability. If you think that the closing of the previous deletion discussion was in error, then you're welcome to go to deletion review to get a second opinion. You might also want to ask at the reliable sources noticeboard about the suitability of americanmafia.com as a source, and see what the editors there say. Simply recreating the article without this kind of discussion won't get you very far though, I'm afraid. Let me know if you have any questions about any of these. Best — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 15:14, 21 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CRIME

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you recently created a bunch of new articles about members of crime families. I'd recommend that you read WP:CRIME before you get too much further. Wikipedia has some pretty strict policies about living people and you need to make sure that articles are properly sourced and that they indicate how a subject is notable. If a person is only notable for being accused of a crime (i.e. accused but not convicted) you might consider not having an article at all. ~Adjwilley (talk) 23:43, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

SPI investigation

[edit]

You are suspected of sockpuppetry, which means that someone suspects you of using multiple Wikipedia accounts for prohibited purposes. Please make yourself familiar with the notes for the suspect, then respond to the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/King Genovese. Thank you.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

King Genovese (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I was blocked firstly because I didn't reference well, didn't have enough references or weren't solid good refs. I was also blocked for creating new accounts, my reason was that whenever I tried to talk to a few administrators they never gave me a chance and I was blocked. I only noticed this "unblock request" application yesterday. 2. Like I've said before, I've certainly learnt this and I believe my punishment is enough and I'm ready to continue contributing correctly and positively. I'm not going to mess it up if I do get a second shot at it. I've opened this up fairly and honestly about why I was banned, I don't want to annoy anymore administrators and I believe they (YOU) don't want to keep doing the same block appeal to me. But forget the block appeal, I'll do this all succesfully. Trust me and allow me to get a second shot. King Genovese (talk)

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, this is a load of crap. Every single time you were blocked, you were provided with a block notice that advised you how to request an unblock. You were also provided a link that would show you how the creation of additional accounts would be considered to be evasion, and lead to longer blocks. It has been less than a month since your last sock. This is not punishment, it's prevention against such behaviours. You're disruptive, have been disruptive, and I see nothing that convinces me otherwise - especially when you tried to hide the evidence by blanking this page. Request reason:

Let me tell you how it is. I first became onto Wikipedia on April 2012. I didn't listen then. I do listen now, my evidence is that I am filling out this unblock application and I'm not disrespecting you're view. You will see a difference and I will create articles which ARE important. If I can't find any good solid references then I'll leave it behind. What I was trying to do, was to create all New York mobster figures on Wikipedia and be known for that. If you look at Gambino, Lucchese, Colombo, Genovese and Bonanno then you'll see alot of RED highlighted names. On my other Wikipedia account I did well. I was giving positive feedback and most of my sources came from New York, Chicago and New Jersey newspapers. You don't see a difference now because you're letting my past get in the way of my future, but I assure you it won't be like that. Wikipedia should be more known on these Mobster figures and I just want to achieve that. Wikipedia is a little outdated when it comes to Mafia related stuff. When Francesco Cali became new Gambino crime family underboss, It took atleast two or four days to change it. Do you understand what I mean? Alot of rising stars in the Mafia at this moment and Wikipedia doesn't have most of them up. If you don't see an improvement, ban me for life and I'll stay away from Wiki. All I'm asking. Back then I was just a fast creator, I missed some information but now my mind is clear. Allow me, please. I also have a few addings to the Rizzuto crime family. It seems Wikipedia only has Vito Rizzuto as boss and no other current members. King Genovese (talk)

Decline reason:

Continued and persistant socking during your previous block flies in the face of your present commitment to walk the straight and narrow. It's not that we are "letting [your] past get in the way of [your] future"; we cannot see the future, so one's past behavior is our only metric. I find your request unconvincing and encourage you to follow the advice below; do not sock for six months, come back here and make another request. Tiderolls 02:21, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It will be a minimum of 6 months after your last block-evading account before you should even consider requesting unblocking ... why do you persist? (✉→BWilkins←✎) 14:41, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can't we work something out Wilkins? Wikipedia is lacking members of the Rizzuto crime family, Cleveland crime family, Detroit crime family. It might not be a big issue but I'm sure those pages must get looked at. King Genovese (talk)

  • (edit conflict) I fully agree with BWilkins that your sockpuppetry has been disruptive, and that clear instructions on the blocking notice weren't followed. Your actions have caused quite a few problems and a fair amount of work for other editors. However, I was actually hoping that you would submit this unblock request, because I think you could be a valuable member of the Wikipedia community if only you could understand and accept our policies on writing about people accused of crimes and on the notability standards for criminals.

When you first got blocked, I thought it was a shame, because you were obviously trying to improve Wikipedia, even if what you were trying to do was misguided. I think the problem is that in many ways, your goals are opposite to Wikipedia's goals. You want to write about the latest crimes that mobsters are accused of, but we usually don't report criminal charges, only confirmed convictions, and you would like to make articles about all the mobsters with red-linked names, but in Wikipedia we only have articles about criminals if the victim of their crime was a renowned national or international figure, or the crime was a well-documented historic event.

I'm not going to review this request myself, because I have blocked some of your sockpuppets and deleted a lot of the articles that you wrote in violation of your block. I want to suggest to the reviewing administrator, though, that you need to demonstrate that you understand these principles and that you can apply them in your writing if you are to be unblocked. I think that it might be worthwhile to give you the standard offer, or a variation of it, to see if you are willing and capable to contribute constructively. That is not for me to decide, though, and I will leave the decision to the reviewing admin. — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 15:06, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

@ Mr. Stradivarius. Thank you for commenting, I respect you're view 100%. I wouldn't say it was a SHAME, I basically brought this on myself because I didn't listen. I kept ignoring and creating other articles which weren't important and no references. I did want to change Wikipedia's view on crime. But, I mean it is all history. Breaking god and man kinds' law is something which is historic. I understand now by an international figure. Most of the articles I created were quite international in the United States. Everyone went through conviction. The Media were all over it but I'm thinking Mr Stradi, Vito Rizzuto is becoming a big thing after he flew back to Canada. Type in google "Vito R" or "Rizzu" then you'll see that criminal organization and mobster. The killings in Canada have also flew up since Vito is trying to get a place back into Canada's organized crime underworld. I know a person who has the Vito Rizzuto crime family chart 2012 even he is getting positive feedback by George Anastasia and Jerry Capeci who are excellent mafia related experts. I don't think I'm going to get a second chance though I would like one. Because, My history is getting in the way of my future. I'm changed and I am still an effective contributor. King Genovese (talk)

  • I've blocked a number of his socks, so I would recuse from considering the request, but would note that I am against it. The Standard offer always applies, but you have to first do your part, and your last sock was less than 1 month ago. Since you are wanting to continue editing in an area that first got you blocked, it is doubtful that you would be able to return without further problem at this time anyway. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 18:23, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

@ Dennis Brown. I agree my history was very bad. But I've changed, You have to take my word from it. If you don't see an improvement in even one article which I create then you can ban me, or even ban me for even viewing at Wikipedia. I'm just asking for a second shot. Maybe, I won't do criminals and might move onto Italian American or even American actors but in Mafia related films like Goodfellas, Casino ETC.. My history on references were very very bad! but look at my other accounts, I was giving very good feedback that they were impressed by my sources and information. King Genovese (talk)

You do have a second shot - you must wait for 6 months from your last WP:SOCK. You must not edit Wikipedia either with an account or anonymously during that time - not even fixing a comma. Go off and be useful on say...the Simple Wikipedia or something like that. Come back in 6 months, and prove to us that you should be unblocked on the English Wikipedia. I also expect that there will be a topic ban at that time as well. This is, after all, what WP:OFFER is all about (✉→BWilkins←✎) 22:39, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So I gotta wait until June 2013 until I become an offical member again? Come on Wilkins. I've learned from all this I want to put my past behind me. Let's focus on my good future here on Wikipedia not my previous bad history. Allow me to do something on here even to stay away from mobsters or you can directly give me articles to create or fix. I don't copy and paste or anything like that. I'm a very blunt man and I do it on my own. King Genovese (talk)

If you're going to be condescending with calling me "Wilkins" then that's all the more reason. The consensus on this very talkpage is some form of the standard offer ... it's likely either that or a decline. Seems to be you don't recognize how much of a pain in the ass you have been to the project, and we're suddenly supposed to take you at your word - well, your word means precious little around here right now. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 00:27, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wilkins is your Wikipedia username and I'm talking to you in a respectful manner so I use your name. Bwilkins then, or what do you want me to call you? Sir Administrator?, do you like that?. BWilkins I assure you or in your view you could take a chance. Just give me a shot, I'll create an article and if you don't like it and don't find it reasonable then you can ban me for life and I'll get out of Wikipedia altogether. To be honest, giving me a chance and for me to create an article for you would be much faster than our converstation and me waiting on 6 months to create an article correctly, which I could be doing at this moment. I do recognize how much of a pain in the ass I *HAVE* been to the project but put my past behind us and let's look to the good future. Loads of organized crime (MAFIA) drug and murder related stuff has being going on this week and I have alot of new stuff about the Rizzuto crime family and other organized criminal organizations which I can contribute to WIKI. I had created Frank Cullotta, Joseph Lubrano, Ralph Vito Perna, Anthony Santorelli, Salvatore Pelle, Alphonse Sisca, Joseph Lonardo, John Sciortino, Stefano Badami, Edward Lino, Gaspare D'Amico.

You have already been advised that you will not be able to write about organized crime now, or in 6 months - your continued insistence that you will is one of the reasons you won't be unblocked. What else will you have in 6 months? (✉→BWilkins←✎) 00:53, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't Frank Cullotta, Joseph Lubrano, Ralph Vito Perna, Anthony Santorelli, Salvatore Pelle, Alphonse Sisca, Joseph Lonardo, John Sciortino, Stefano Badami, Edward Lino and Gaspare D'Amico enough proof that I can edit? King Genovese (talk)

Just a question here...Is King Genovese allowed to edit places other than his talk page? For instance, could he edit subpages of his talk page or user page like User:King Genovese/Sandbox? I was having a look at the Frank Cullotta article, and it has several issues that need attention. What would people think about letting him fix the article up in his sandbox, referencing all the unreferenced sentences, etc.? Worst case scenario we end up with a mildly improved article that can be copied back into the article space, and King Genovese does his time for 5 more months. Best case scenario, we find out that King Genovese has learned how to adhere to policy and write a good, well-referenced article that adheres to BLP:Crime and the other relevant policies. Thoughts on this? ~Adjwilley (talk) 01:57, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A blocked user may only edit their talkpage, and only for the purpose of requesting an unblock. After all, a block is supposed to prevent the editor from actually editing (✉→BWilkins←✎) 02:01, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying that...that's something I had been wondering about for a while, and I figured it was worth a shot to ask here. ~Adjwilley (talk) 02:06, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Best case scenario, we find out that King Genovese has learned how to adhere to policy and write a good, well-referenced article" I totally agree with you Adjwilley. I have learned how to do it ALL correctly. I want to work something out between Bwilkins, Mr. Stradivarius and maybe you if you like. I don't see anything wrong with Frank Cullotta. If you type in the Wikipedia search bar "Frank Cu" then it'll appear. Many people have watched film Casino and wanted to know more about Frank Cullotta which I provided. King Genovese (talk)

If you don't see anything wrong with the article, this causes me concern. The sentence "He began his decades-long criminal career as a teenager, graduating from petty theft to burglary, armed robbery, arson and murder" does not have a citation. You simply cannot say something like that about a living person without a citation. Even if it's common knowledge to you. The section named "Sherwin 'Jerry' Lisner Murder" doesn't have a single citation to back it up, even though it's describing a brutal murder. The next two sections have a single citation each. This is completely unacceptable, no matter how uncontroversial you think the information is. There are only four references for the whole article, and references 1 and 3 don't provide page numbers. The only one that provides a link is #4, and that's to a chasingthefrog.com description of a movie. There are more problems, but I'd like to give you a shot at finding them yourself. (Hint: Read WP:RS, WP:V, and WP:BLP. Then read the article again.) ~Adjwilley (talk) 06:02, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I should probably add that I probably won't be able to influence anything to do with your unblock. I only showed up here because I've had your talkpage on my watchlist for a few months and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I would like to see you get unblocked at some point in the future, and I would like to see you go on to write many good articles. You seem to have the knowledge, and that's a start, but if you want to rejoin the community you're going to have to put in a lot of effort. You'll have to not only read the Wikipedia policies, but you'll have to internalize them and commit to follow them always...not just when people get on your case. I highly recommend taking some time off. Review the things that other people have said above. Follow the links to all the policies that they've linked for you, and read them. Then consider if you really want to follow them. If not, Wikipedia may not be the right place for you. But if you decide you want to stay, and you've actually done all this, then you will be unblocked because you will be able to demonstrate that you know what you have done wrong and that you know how to fix it. It won't be easy, but the way I see it, that's what it's going to take. ~Adjwilley (talk) 06:19, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The way I see it is, if something is incorrect then someone SHOULD atleast help because I appreciate help. "completely unacceptable" if so then why is Frank Cullotta still up. The Frank Cullotta page has been good and 15 people have contributed to it. But, I agree. It only has four references about a major person who controlled Las Vegas with Anthony Spilotro for the Chicago Outfit during the 1970s & 1980s. How many references do you believe it should have? Atleast give me a shot to reference it. You watch and I assure you that you will be 100% satisfied. King Genovese (talk)

It has been established and held up that a quantity of positive edits do not excuse negative behaviours. In other words, we'd prefer not to take the bad, just in order to get the good (✉→BWilkins←✎) 20:07, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

When shall I come back? King Genovese (talk) 00:02, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the standard offer usually includes six months without sockpuppetry, so that would mean you should wait until June 2013. — Mr. Stradivarius (have a chat) 00:40, 29 Decembe Am I ready?

You might want to use the {{unblock}} template to get the attention of admins. ~Adjwilley (talk) 22:56, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think at least one admin has seen it, but the last CU checked sockpuppet was just a few months ago in February. [1], so 6 months from then (the earliest it would be considered) is Aug 3. I'm open minded at that time, but only if I can see 6 months without socking. Dennis Brown - - © - @ - Join WER 23:21, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So, I'll have to wait until August? King Genovese (talk) 17:48, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well... How else can I prove myself? Is there some sort of "practice article"? King Genovese (talk) 19:54, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • For starters, you prove you can exercise self control by going away for 6 months. If you sock again, the clock restarts. Each time you sock, you decrease the odds of anyone considering your WP:STANDARDOFFER. That is your only option: stop socking. As you can see, we are pretty good at finding them, so you only hurt yourself by continuing to make them, and build resentment in others who have to waste time dealing with them.
