chinese immigrated into korea when it was under chinese control during the Han Dynasty, and divided into 4 commandaries, Lelang being one of them. Emperor Liu Bang forcibly transported 40,000 Chinese peasants to colonies in Lelang and other commandaries in Korea such as Luolang(Pyongyang).[1] Emperor Han Wudi encouraged intermarriage with local peoples.[2]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Hi !!

[edit]
Hello, KoreanSentry and thanks for the message. While I appreciate feedback on any/all of my edits, I do not agree with you 100%. Your claim that I do not have the right to revert your edits, is not strictly correct - that is the great/awful thing about wikipedia, everyone has the right to edit (well apart from those who are blocked or banned) - while I understand you feel strongly about the article in question, you might wish to obtain some form of consensus, rather than simply telling people what you think they do and do not have the right to do - but hey, it's nice to meet you, have a wonderful day. Sennen goroshi (talk) 16:58, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This is a controversial move. There are correct procedures for all editors to follow in such circumstances - this applies to you, just as it applies to me. Cut and Paste moves are not encouraged. I understand your edits are made in good faith, however not every editor agrees with your opinion, as I imagined you noticed by the amount of people reverting you. Perhaps you should follow the correct procedures, rather than turning this into a revert war. Sennen goroshi (talk) 16:38, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wei Man/Wiman of Gojoseon

[edit]

Hello, KoreanSentry. I just closed a move request on Wei Man (in which you have not participated), and full-protected the redirect at Wiman of Gojoseon (which you have edited). The reason I'm telling you this is because you repeatedly copied the contents of Wei Man and pasted it into Wiman of Gojoseon; the reason this is a problem is because the terms of the GDFL require all editors be given credit for their work. This is accomplished through the edit history, which is lost when pages are improperly moved. If you think the article should be moved, please open a new discussion through Wikipedia:Requested moves, and provide reliable sources supporting your position. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, either here, or on my talk page. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 05:24, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A question about nihon shoki

[edit]

I wrote my opinion about Baekje in TalkPage.

You wrote " Also complicating the matter is that in the Nihongi a Korean named Amenohiboko is supposed to be the maternal predecessor of Empress Jingū. "

However, Nohon shoki(Nihongi) writes the lineage of Empress like this. (Nihon Shoki Vol.9)
"気長足姫尊稚日本根子彦大日日天皇之曾孫。気長宿禰王之女也。母曰葛城高顙媛"
(Empress Jingu is Emperor Kaika's grandchild, and her mother is Katuragi clan. )

Moreover, Nohonshoki explains Amehikohoiko like this.
"天日槍對曰 僕新羅國主之子也 然聞日本國有聖皇 則以己國授弟知古而化歸之" (Nihon Shoki, Vol.6)
(Amehiboko was said. "I am a prince in Korea. I heard that there was saint's king in Japan. To become a vassal of the king in Japan, I transferred the country to younger brother. ")
"故天日槍娶但馬出嶋人 太耳女麻多烏 生但馬諸助也 諸助生但馬日楢杵 日楢杵生清彦 清彦生田道間守也"
He married the woman who lived in Tajima Province in Japan, he lived in Tajima Province. He was called Amenohiboko. His descendant is Tajima mori.

Chinese/Japanese claims/theories

[edit]

Well, no serious scholar is considering any of the political people. Linguists only consider the data. The linguist situation of ancient Korea, Japan, and the surrounding areas is much more complicated than we fully know because simply very little data exists from this time. Although Korea is monolingual today, it wasn't in the past as is evidence by the remaining data. Today, there is still no consensus among linguists about the relationship between Korean, Japanese, Tungus, Turkic, Mongol, and Ainu. These languages may or may not be related. Azalea pomp (talk) 16:09, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Languages either are or are not related. If Korean and Japanese cannot be shown to be related than they are no more related to each other than they are to any other language family in the world. Azalea pomp (talk) 05:22, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The strongest evidence to related two languages is by a regular sound correspondence in cognates. Similar grammatical forms or phonology may be due to areal features (Sprachbund). Azalea pomp (talk) 21:31, 15 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In 2018, Japanese is considered a part of a language group isolate (Japonic). Korean is considered a language isolate. This view is held by the overwhelming majority of linguists. The Altaic theory is now a dead fish. While culturally Japan benefited greatly from Korean and Chinese influences, they did not stem from shared languages.50.111.7.77 (talk) 00:46, 22 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The dispute

[edit]

Let me explain why I've been rewriting the section. Before answering me, please do not revert the page again. I've been to find a point of compromise, but you have had shown no effort.

Most historians know the close relations between Korea and Japan throughout history

The words "most historians" should not be used because you cannot tell who they are. Therfore it should be like "It is well known that Japan and Korea have had close relations throughout history."

with Korea transmitting major technological advances to Japan.

The relationship is not a one-way relationship. Both countries have had influence on each other. When you use the word "throughout history", talking as is the relationship were a one-way relationship is not proper.

In Japan this history is downplayed or omitted causing anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea.

There is no supporting source for this sentence. When did Japan downplayed what? This sentence should be removed.

Emperor Kammu's grandfather was recorded to be of Korean ancestry but this is disputed by some Japanese historians, citing the source as unreliable.

"Emperor Kammu's grandfather" is not accurate. Shoku Nihongi says that Emperor Kammu's mother was of Korean ancestory.

Accordingly, Imperial tombs are blocked from archeological studies by foreign archeologists[1]

Emperor Kammu's mother has nothing to do with the bloking of the tombs. The source does not say anything about Emperor Kammu. Therefore, "accordingly" isn't properly used here.

and historical errors from the early 1900s are not updated.[2]

Not only because the source is of DPRK, the early 1900s have nothing to do with the tombs or Emperor Kammu. This sentence is irrelevant.

The National geographics wrote Japan "has kept access to the tombs restricted, prompting rumors that officials fear excavation would reveal bloodline links between the "pure" imperial family and Korea"[3]

Rumours are rumours.

Other historians have pointed to "Korean type pottery, crowns, earrings, and weapons are artifacts that are commonly found in fifth century Japanese tombs, and the stone-corridor-and-chambered tombs in northern Kyūshū are perhaps “the tombs of descendents of Koguryŏ immigrants from Korea." and "The importation of Korea-style jewelry at this time implies [that]…the techniques of inlaying and inscribing also entered Japan in the fifth century. Once again it seems apparent that peninsular master metalworkers taught the native of the island their important skills.” (Farris, 1996: 13)"[4] Many of Japan's ancient artifacts are related to Korea, "Inariyama sword, as well as some other swords discovered in Japan, utilized the Korean “Idu” system of writing" the swords "originated in Paekche and that the kings named in their inscriptions represent Paekche kings rather than Japanese kings"[5][6]

Actually I still can't see why you need these sentences. Why do you need them?

The denial of these facts in history was the beginning of the anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea.

There is no supporting source for this sentence. When did Japan deny the relationship between the two nations? It says the "facts" but what mentioned above have been disputed. They are not "facts" yet. Besides, there is no evidence that it was the beginning of the anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea. Therefore, this sentence has no source and should be removed.

As a compromise, I made the section below. I don't think you will find no reason to revert the page anymore. Please do not revert it before discussing. If you have anything to say, please discuss it.

It is well known that Japan and Korea have had close relations throughout history.
According to Shoku Nihongi, for example, Emperor Kammu's mother was recorded to be of Korean ancestry but this is disputed by some Japanese historians, citing the source as unreliable. Accordingly, the fact Imperial tombs are blocked from archeological studies by foreign studies has prompted rumors that officials fear excavation would reveal bloodline links between the "pure" imperial family and Korea"[7]
William Wayne Farris, a professor of Traditional Japanese Culture and History, has pointed to "Korean type pottery, crowns, earrings, and weapons are artifacts that are commonly found in fifth century Japanese tombs, and the stone-corridor-and-chambered tombs in northern Kyūshū are perhaps “the tombs of descendents of Koguryŏ immigrants from Korea." and "The importation of Korea-style jewelry at this time implies [that]…the techniques of inlaying and inscribing also entered Japan in the fifth century. Once again it seems apparent that peninsular master metalworkers taught the native of the island their important skills.” (Farris, 1996: 13)"[8] Many of Japan's ancient artifacts are related to Korea, "Inariyama sword, as well as some other swords discovered in Japan, utilized the Korean “Idu” system of writing" the swords "originated in Paekche and that the kings named in their inscriptions represent Paekche kings rather than Japanese kings"[9][10]
However, the ancient relationship between the two nations still possesses much room to discuss and sometimes disputes cause anti-Japanese sentiment in Korea and anti-Korean sentiment in Japan.

I even used the word "accordingly" although I still it is not a good word there. I don't see the reason why you need the information aobut those pottery, crowns, etc., but I kept them.

I don't think we can have a better compromise. If you have anything to say, PLEASE come to the discussion page before reverting. Please show efforts to reach an agreement. Let's talk.--Je suis tres fatigue (talk) 16:01, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

I was going to warn you for the edit summary you left on Korean cuisine, but then I looked at your history, and noted that you just reverted every one of Phoenix7777's reverts of an indefinitely blocked sockmaster. When someone is blocked, it means they can't edit. While their edits don't have to automatically be reverted (as would be the case if Philip126 were banned), they can be removed if they have any underlying problems. I don't know about all of the rest, but Philip126's edit to Korean cuisine violated NPOV, inserted unsourced, dubious information, and removed good, sourced information. I have blocked you because I am concerned that continuing to allow you to edit will cause further disruption to the project by, essentially, proxy-editing for an indefinitely blocked editor. When you are unblocked, do not continue the same disruptive behavior or I will seek approval for a significantly longer, or possibly indefinite block. Qwyrxian (talk) 01:47, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. --Kusunose 02:36, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Phoenix7777 is troll account who always edits Korean related topics based on biased sources. You know he's trolling right? He's been long time troll to Wikipedia and he's pest.KSentry(talk) 10:13, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop attacking other editors, as you did on Talk:Northeast Asia. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Oda Mari (talk) 14:44, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I was just coming here to say the same thing. Given your history of edit-warring and ridiculous claims that others are editing with a strong POV, if you persist in this behavior, your next block will be indefinite. Qwyrxian (talk) 03:12, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Jagello, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Yemaek

[edit]

KoreanSentry alias hwanppa freak, typically oversea Korean in USA or Australia... Trolling really? The only trolls are from KoreanSentry.

If the skulls are not related to yemaek than yemaek are not one of our ancestors. We are not northern people. We are East Asian with more close genetic connections to southern people.

After 8000 years of living in the Korean peninsula we adopted to local climate.

You have to learn some respect you little hwanppa freak. Do you feel proud of KoreanSentry? You should be ashamed. Mostly all look down at your kind of people. You are worser than sinocentrists.

You actually get blocked several times and you called opposing users as Chinese. Do you think that this behavior is in favour for Korea? You better stop your rude behavior.

You are not better than crazy Turkish turanists. Also to inform you: The Altaic theory is obsolete/debunked. Korean is a isolated language. Maybe, only maybe related to Japanese. A Austronesian connection is very controversial but possible with long ago relations.

And if you are one of these blind Turkish lovers remember that the some cultural things we share with nomads and west Eurasians is original Indo-Iranian, Persian. Not Turkic. Even the founder clan of Turks, the ashena or ashina are mostly beloved to be of Iranian origin.

So change your behavior to serve Korea and not to make look it bad.

Greetings from another oversea Korean 212.95.7.149 (talk) 15:44, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fyi, modern day Koreans are not related to ancient settlers lived in Korea more than 8,000 years ago. Modern Koreans might have been mixed after 5,000 years ago when new Neolithic invaders came to Korea. KSentry([[User

No, the Turks did not originate from Iranian people. The proto-ancestors of both peoples lived in different parts of Asia, and their languages are completely unrelated (originally). Contamination between both led to shared loanwords. 50.111.24.29 (talk) 21:24, 20 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Racism and personal attacks

[edit]

KoreanSentry, do you understand why comments like this and this are inappropriate?

Off-colour personal remarks like these Chinese and Japanese trollish accounts, Hijiri88, a fake Japanese account user and If I have all that time in the world, I would actually do something for improving lifestyle rather than being Keyboard behind anonymity of Internet world. Grow up and get a life Bro., groundless accusations like edits Korean related articles based on their biased cherry picked sources and You guys know this user is trolling, and especially unambiguous racism like he or she doesn't even shared blood or cultural background ties with Korea are completely inapproropriate, and are not tolerated on English Wikipedia.

Note that, since this has been going on for years, unless you explicitly state that you understand what you did wrong and will make efforts to improve, you can probably expect to be blocked for the above remarks. Your relative lack of activity (under this account) is not a defense, but rather counts against you, as your trolling and personal attacks will be weighed against your meaningful contributions to the encyclopedia.

Consider this your final warning.

Hijiri 88 (やや) 21:35, 12 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well you started this personal attacks yourself and even accused me of sockpuppet, what do you think you are? You're just another angry Japanese troll. KSentry(talk) 04:09, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I warned you, and you replied by insinuating that I am engaged in sockpuppetry and calling me an angry Japanese troll? I've now reported you on WP:ANI. Hijiri 88 (やや) 22:49, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
